I think your initial thought is right on target...
there is little profitability in these type of
applications. Vehicle Log was initially developed as
a personal project for tracking my own vehicle costs.
As the development progressed, I saw that other people
might be interested in using it as well, so Zat Soft
started to make it publicly available.
Since that time we have kept up with enhancing it as
we have had time. We are only asking $10 for the
fully featured application so that it would not be a
great hinderance to users and so that we can recoup
SOME of the development costs. We have not calculated
the return on our time investment, but I would venture
a guess that it is far less than $1 per hour spent on
Vehicle Log.
Rest assured that we still intend to maintain Vehicle
Log, it is not dead! As was stated on the Yahoo!
Group, attaching notes IS on the ToDo list.
