In case you are receiving this mail more than once please pardon me.)

Friends,

Without any element of doubt, we all had great fun about 24 hours ago
trying to see Venus being occulted by the Moon.
( I have updated the site).

Some of us had seen such events a bit too often to get disappointed
because weather played spoilt sport.

But I must say that between THEN and NOW there is a lot of change and let
us move ahead with this change. The change that technology brought in,
helping us to communicate across the territorial boundaries and unite
ourselves as true citizens of the world.

Astronomy offers us some very exciting avenues to explore – observing
occultations, in particular those of stars by asteroid literarily take us
on country side roads. There are other fields of observing astronomy such
as variable star observations where we can join hands.

If we may call this as end of the beginning – let us take our hobby
different heights, let us all start discussing on one platform.

As for myself and my younger colleague Samir Dhurde, we both are
essentially amateur astronomers, truly in love with astronomy. But we are
a bit different than others – we are kind of paid to do amateur astronomy
(you may visit our profile). We have been supporting amateur astronomer
in Pune.

Now my humble request to you is to join one or both the groups listed
below. But of course we are open to other suggestion too.
