Jean Lecacheux points out that the new prediction by Bruno Sicardy
shows that the occultation by Charon will occur in central Asia,
over Pakistan, northern India, and western and southern China.

Those in the area of the possible occultation are encouraged to pass
this information on to others they know in the area, to try to
obtain more observations.

I've added some other new information related to the Sept. 27th
occultation at the top of my Web site at
http://iota.jhuapl.edu/pluto925.htm including references about
results from previous occultations by Charon and by Pluto provided
by Losyuk Alexey, Russia, and Jay Pasachoff, Williams College,
Massachusetts. The publications that Jay cites show from analysis
of previous Pluto/Charon occultations using large telescopes that
Charon has no appreciable atmosphere and set limits on possible
rings and dust near Pluto.
