Tomorrow, is the public lecture - from 5-6 PM at the Planetarium (3rd June). I hope all interested, will come. I would also like to discuss, before or after the talk - with those interested - how we could best use this page on the eclipsewiki http://www.nehruplanetarium.org/eclipsewiki/pmwiki.php?n=Site.OurPlans For co-ordinating everyone's plans. All pages on this wiki will be made passowrd free - each and every one interested - cold just chose one location in the totality belt - make their own arrangements for reaching there ad staying there - and just add information on the appropriate page. Others interested could join them in the same way - also placing their information on the wiki pages. Those in Delhi and who can come for the talk tomorrow - we will also have a small discussion on this method of for the coming together of voluntary efforts for eclipse observations. Along the way - discovering 22 main belt asteroids! > > Please do see here > > http://nehruplanetarium.org/taarewiki/pmwiki.php?n=Site.GodhooliPublicLectures > > For the details of his talk on search for Vulcanoids during a Total Solar Eclipse. > > The topic sounded strange to me - I spent an enjoyable day or two learning about Vulcanoids - hypothesised asteroids orbiting the Sun closer than Mercury. SOHO and Messenger spacecraft data is being used to search for these. The exciting possibility seems to be that amateur astronomers can do this too, during a Total Solar Eclipse! > > Do be there at 5 PM on the 3rd June at the PLanetarium, to find out about this and meet Vishnu. > > Rathnasree, Nehru Planetarium, New Delhi >
