I've used virtually everything that's out there, from windows movie
maker up to edius pro. I usually use premier pro or vegas though.

I know certain programs can conflict when installed on the same
system, so maybe that's where your going with this?

Try going back to using a regular IDE drive in place of that SATA drive, IDE has always seemed to be stable enough for me with video capturing and multitrack...

I've been using an empty IDE drive since and it's no different. I believe it to be a codec problem as the vista machine plays the videos fine with it's own...

That could very possibly be the case. Try uninstalling all but your most favore of the video editing softwares and see whether there are improvements in your...
