I have seen various software for the visor incorporating aol email, but
these usually need a modem.
Is there a program out which syncs your personal filing cabinet, or syncs
your mail like avantgo syncs online.
Thanks for any info,
DAN

The July 2000 PC World (pg. 104) rated the Visor Deluxe "Best PDA".

They also rated the Think Outside Stowaway keyboard "Best Gadget".

Ed,

I saw that, too. <giant smile and confetti throwing>

Great for Visor. I have both the Visor Deluxe and the Targus Stowaway
keyboard. I love them both. The keyboard is absolutely fantastic, too. I
take them both with me when I go to appointments, and I use the keyboard
whenever I have more than just a phrase or two to type in.

When I met with someone a week or two ago, rather than writing notes by
hand on paper during our meeting, I whipped out my keyboard and Visor
and sat and typed everything as we talked (I write a lot slower than I
type). I really had eyes popping out with that, too. No one had seen the
keyboard before, and they thought it was very "James Bond." <chuckle>
Didn't have a built-in machine gun, though....

At any rate, it's the best investment I've made in a long, long time. I
didn't want to have to put out the money for a full laptop computer, and
with this I don't need to, especially with the capability to write and
edit Word documents and sync them with my desktop computer. As soon as
the 6Pak comes out with the wireless modem, I plan to add that to this.
This will suit my needs just fine. Amazing stuff.

Too bad it won't load Photoshop. Then I'd really have it made. <grin>

Warmly,
Shirley

I am trying build a printable Expense report, from the information I
have entered in to my Handspring Visor, on to my Macintosh.

I looked in the archives and have seen where this subject has been
talked about with out any solution offered.

The Shana Corporation made a conduit for the Mac and the Expense
program, but it has been discontinued.

I was wondering if anyone has any new ideas.

Thanks

Steve

Any remors or solid information as to if and/or when it's supposed
to come out? I saw the prototype at the SF Macworld, and they were
promising it by spring.

Doing a quick check, it looks like Innogear is the only one with an MP3
player. Check it out at http://www.innogear.com/mj.htm. But the page says
that it will be available "Summer 2000".

They've been delayed due to supply problems with flash rom and other
components (Taiwan Earthquake), but there should be a lot of new
information, if not a release, at PC expo later this month (9 dqays away!!)

Hi All,

In a few weeks I'll be heading out of town to go apartment hunting in NY. Does
anyone know of any software that will help me and my fiancee' (then wife)
organize the information we get? Something that will allow a quick sketch of
the apartment and has fill in the blank type spots to include rent, utilities,
etc. etc.

Thanks,
nb

No, you can't run Excel on the Visor, however, there
are a number of spreadsheet programs available for
the palmOS. My personal favorite is TinySheet available
from imabic (www.iambic.com).

I'm going to compile a list of what our favorite programs

can think of off the top of my head, but if you feel I've

There are a number of articles out -- they seem to be split down the middle:

http://www.msnbc.com/news/421117.asp?cp1=1

http://cbs.marketwatch.com/archive/20000619/news/current/ipo_rep.htx?source=
blq/yhoo&dist=yhoo

http://www.visorcentral.com/article.php3?id=43&pv=1

The inter@ctive article bothers me because a number of factors were
mentioned without explanation -- for example using the downgraded version of
the PalmOS, even though the current version uses FlashROM Tech. Turns out
that the FlashROM shortage effecting Palm (prob due to WAP phones, etc.)
isn't affecting HS.

I had this problem awhile back, except the mail part. You may want to try
doing a softreset and then syncing.

I'm a newbie to this list and have my ice Visor only a couple of weeks
I ran in to a problem with a Springboard module and had to do a hard reset. Now
I can't get to AvantGo when I hot synch, it does mail but doesn't download Avant
Go pages.

I also had Peanut reader installed with a couple of free books and can't install
them now.

Any ideas?

Just to keep you guys up to date. I did a custom synch and disabled the
mail. It worked fine. I don't read mail on my visor anyone. But, rest
assured I'll keep working on it until it works correctly.

Ed,

Save yourself some time and just reinstall the hotsync program. I had the
same problem and that fixed it. Not the most elegant solution, but you get
back on the road faster…

The
ironic part is I use neither app. I use netscape... But I don't want my
  mail on my visor.

  Thanks for the help.

I'm a pharmacist and have the Physician's Desk Reference module. I was using
it and hit the datebook button by mistake and the Visor went Kerblooie.
