Description

Welcome!

This group is dedicated to the Vixen Sphinx product line of telescopes and mounts, and the complementary Star Book computer and controller.

This product line, with its fantastic industrial design, amazing goto features, and surprisingly advanced features, are set to overturn the existing amateur astronomy equipment hegemony.

Vixen has long been a contender for the position of the best mass-market Japanese supplier of astronomical equipment. It's line of optical instruments has in some cases hit the perfect balance of quality to price ratio. With the new line, known as Sphinx, the leading American brands, Meade and Celestron, now have a very serious 'goto' 'scope competitor, indeed.

Here's the Group. Post your thoughts, queries, problems and ideas.

Re: Sphinx SXD and Visac 260
The mount works much better with the Mewlon 250 now. Not using the half pillar, the spreader is solid and the weights help. Thanks all, Chuck

Re: Sphinx SXD and Visac 260
Thanks Lionel, I'm thinking of not using the half-pillar as recommended and by extending the tripod legs I will have a larger base. I also have bolted the
