On my site I have a few choice links to associates and people in relevant lines of work and have manually added them into link boxes, but it just occurred to me that I can make these links more sociable and better maintained with custom Del.icio.us link rolls.
Using Del.icio.us instead of manually entered link boxes means that these links sit nicely with all my other favourites online and can be dynamically pulled in as I add new ones.
Instead of these boxes, I just need to enter all my bookmarks from separate boxes into Del.icio.us, taking care to add an extra tag for my benefit.
For example, I have a link box called 'Essentials' where I add essential software I use.
Moving this to Del.icio.us means I give it a tag of 'Essentials' and then using Del.icio.us' link roll generator, restrict the roll to only show those tagged 'Essentials'.
Obviously, these special tags are something to preplan so that you don't accidentally tag something else with it.
These tags could be anything like 'myspecials' etc, since you can leave the automatic titling off and add any title of your own manually to above where the link roll is going to show.
Del.icio.us bookmarking.
