Certainly. The Iranian anti-theocratic dictatorship, pro-democracy movement, if
such exists, is certainly not socialist in any shape or form. However, if
Iranian workers can get more breathing room to organise politically and
economically, that is to be welcomed. It looks unlikely for the time being, as
the Iranian state forces have been set in motion. It is, though, only a question
of time before the Islamic Republic of Iran becomes historical trash. When it
does, it will send a shockwave through the Middle East; all those poncy sheiks
in Saudi Arabia, for example, will have to hope they can book a ticket for Mars
with NASA, and not as space tourists.

Well, that is utter nonsense. Iran is a monstrous, theocratic dictatorship.
Ahmadinejad deserves no respect at all. It is utter foolishness to support him
and the dictatorship in any way just because he and it make anti-imperialist
statements. The working class of Iran is exploited and also imprisoned and
killed for voicing any opposition to the regime.
There is nothing good about capitalist Venezuela and Iran forming an alliance,
any more than the "special relationship" between Britain and America. You are
taking the side of one section of the ruling classes against the other, when
neither should be supported at all.
Finally, Islam is not a better way of life at all. It is an irrational religious
belief which is as anti-human as the other nutty stuff about - eg. Judaism,
Christianity, Buddhism.
