Re: [WWA-SectionTS-Technical-Forum] update

Hello Steve,

I am not sure if you received my reply to you last night after reading your email. I need to make sure you fully understand one thing. RFI is a very elusive animal to track down at times. In other words, if you are looking for instant gratification, you may not find it here. There are times when it will be easy to track it down, and other times it will take a while to track it down.

Now, in reading your email, I happy to know you have a valid grounding system installed, and I never said it would resolve your problem when I suggested you install a valid grounding system. That is only step one in the process to ensure that no one can point the finger at you. Now, with that said, I need to know one thing. Would you like for us (ARRL Techincal Specialist) to help you? Or do you want to handle this on your own. You need to make that decision. The reason I am stating this is, I do not want you duplicating our efforts, and possibly make matters worse. There are certain steps we need to make before going up to the head of the line in filing a formal complaint.

With that said, there are still some questions you have not answered yet. Such as;

1. If you feel PSE is giving you the run around, do you have any names? Have you taken this up to the manager level? If so, what are their names?

2. Have you checked out your local cable TV company? In other words, have you checked out their D-mark?

3. You mentioned your neighbors, do you have a good relationship with them? Or have you caused any issue's that I may need to be aware of. I ask this question because of a previous issue I was tasked to resolve.

Steve, it was brought to my attention that you have been on another reflector looking for assistance with this problem you are having. I do not care what you think about ARRL. I am a life member with them, and believe in ARRL since 1976. You have decided to come to us for help, and we will be happy to help you. The Technical specialist in this area come with huge experience. For example, I have been in communications for over 30 years. I have an BSEE, I have 23 years experience in DF, and electronic intercept from Army Special Forces, etc., etc. So we will solve the problem you are experiencing. Therefore; patience is a must when you are dealing with this type of interference. Remember; we are all volunteers willing to help others in need. So in closing, help us help you.

Hi all.
I had a really nice telephone chat with Jim last week. He questioned my
ground system and I have since driven a new 8 foot ground rod, connected
everything in a star configuration as suggested and there has been no
noticeable change.
PSE has not called to provide me with a possible repair date, and I have
gotten no response to my voice messages. I guess that I am going to have
to file a complaint with the FCC and the Public Utilities Commission in
order to get a positive response from PSE.
I still could use help in identifying whether the problem is emanating
from the pole, or emanating from a neighbors house and riding the drop
to the pole. If I can get this one major noise issue resolved, then I
can work on the others ...
Thanks in advance.
