I didn't know that you could get Win 3.1 plugins to work in Mozilla. How do you
do that?
I've got lots of the working in 4.61

I dnloaded Warpzilla from IBM to give it a try. Am I correct that there
is no install utility? When I did get it running it was slower than a
wet week. I gave up and figure on Staying with Netscape 4.61 whilst
waiting for Opera/2. However, Opera/2 has proven to be vapourware for
about 2 yrs now. Does anyone know if it will really eventuate?

Hi Ed
Well, looks like you done it just fine. I tried mine again and it says now
that I need a plugin but when I cancel it brings up rp7 just fine. I don't
use it much yet since I just upgraded my hd and reinstalled everything. My
sound doesn't work in rp7 so I may just reinstall and put realplayer 8 in. I
don't try and cmd stuff. IT has always worked for me just by putting in the
application details and it is fine.
One other thing I do sometimes is install NS for win31 in my winos2 session
and put a old version of rp for win31 and it puts a plugin in and also puts
in the necessary applications details and I then copy them and put that info
in my NS 4.61 and IBM browser and it works fine.

Hi
No Java 1.3 is not free, only available to subscribers...unless you purchased
eCS, it is included with it.

No, they are both version 4 compatible. The latest Flash is version 5, which
Innotek previously said they might support later...

Sorry Adrian, I should have said I was using the new IBM Browser. I
don't
have the flash plug-in installed under Mozilla/Warpzilla and when I
tried to
access the pge, I got the message to say a plugin was missing and then
an
interesting message:
To print any section, right click on the image above and choose 'Print'
from the menu (only available if you are using Flash 4).
So it seems the site needs flash 4 support. I'm pretty sure the previous
Innotek
product was only V3 compatible, the one in the IBM Browser would seem to
be V4 compatible.

Just been to that site - I can see no problems - what exactly did you
select
on it to give the flash plugin a problem ? and what problem did it have
?
Just didn't work ? Crashed the Browser ?

There is a newer Flash plugin (Release 2) included with IBM's branded version
of Mozilla. I don't know if it works better than Release 1 with Mozilla, or
whether
Innotek will be releasing it on their web page... I wonder if I am allowed to

Your first step has to be to turn off REIPL, then when the system
fails you'll see what has actually trapped on the screen.
I suspect you need to load the latest TCPIP V 4.3 fixes. These are
simply replacment files that have to be loaded when comms is
not running (at boot up press alt-F1 when the box and OS/2 are
displayed at the top left of the screen and then select F2 for
command prompt).
I had a similar problem a few days ago and since loading these
files (touch wood) I haven't had a re-occurance.
You can get the fixes from:
ftp://service.boulder.ibm.com/ps/products/tcpip/fixes/v4.3os2/ic27649/ic27649.ex\

Hi,
First my system
OS2 Warp 4.0 (Fix pack 14, not the convenience pack - I am awaiting this from
IBM)
TCPIP 4.3 (connection to internet via DHCP cable modem)
Java 1.3 default
128 Meg ram
Intel 800
Since i have REIPL=ON in my config.sys I basically mean that the system stops
and restarts, though I hate to admit that I am unsure where the trap
information is kept???? As you can see i do not use Injoy or any pp services
on this machine as I have a connection via cable modem.

The problem occurs both on remote sites as well as files stored locally eg
Sun's Java2 Documentation
it also happens even when the browser is open, but not being used.... does not
have focus...

There's now a separate "mail properties" option in the edit
pulldown, but only when you're in the mail client, not when
you're in the browser. As for not getting to the net, I don't
have this problem - perhaps you need to define your ISPs
proxy server ??

Hello all,
Can someone tell me where we have to put the password etc for the pop3 server
etc in the new IBM Webbrowser alias NS6?
While installing, the thing has taken over all the NS 4.61 user profiles
indeed, except for the popservers.
Also, the browser isn't capable of going to the net.
I answered "no" to the "want you ... as default" questions. Could that be the
reason?

It is "KEY" to remove any previous version of Mozilla/Warpzilla before
installing the latest version of Warpzilla or IBM Browser. I had a
similar
problem between earlier versions of warpzilla and after erasing the
directory
and re-installing the problem went away. i.e. *NEVER* Install this

Thanks for the suggestion but there's no spaces in the path
F:\OS2COMMS\Real8\RealPlayer\realplay.exe.cmd
I read somewhere that NS needed the executable to be called
realplay.exe.cmd
The contents of this file are:
pe f:\os2comms\real8\realplayer\realplay.exe %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9
and running this from OS/2 brings up the realplayer correctly.
I must admit I find this naming a little strange, I'll try creating just
rp.cmd or
somthing and see if that works.

Please expand on "crashing" - is this a trap error ? If so which module
is displayed as the culprit, what type of Trap is it ?
Or do you mean simply everything locks up, no message and you have to
hit the big power switch ??
Are you using an Injoy or similar product to connect to the internet ? -
There are (already) patches for TCPIP V 4.3, which may be relevant.
Are you running OS/2 Warp 4 with FP14 or convienience pack ? If the
former, have you applied the MPTS fix packs as wel ?
I need to know more about wht you mean about "crashing" before
I can make any suggestions.
Also does the problem only occur on certain websites. Does the
problem occur when using the browser or the mail client or the
composer functions ?

Ditto here for the Mozilla version. Took 35 seconds to load, using 35MB
of a 256MB system, on a 500 MHZ SCSI system. Used it twice and locked
up twice before I called it quits. Speed once loaded was maybe slightly
faster than 4.61. And I hate the flyout menus. Why can't that be
optional?
Get real!

I had with starting problem with a recent Warpzilla drop, so I started
it from an OS/2 command prompt and I saw messages complaining about two
missing files. You might try this to see if anything's missing in your
installation. Also, if you haven't already reinstalled it again, try
wiping the current directory clean before you reinstall.

Your system should be more than adequate to run Warpzilla. It takes
about 25 seconds to load up on my Piii-450, but once it's loaded it's
very fast if not faster than NS4.61 for certain pages. I just minimize
it when not using it so it's instantly available.

Hi
When you installed realplayer Through ODIN, what kind
of path did you give realplayer. IF you have a space in
any of its directories eg: c:\program
files\real\realplayer then it truncates at the
space. You must have realplayer installed in
directories without spaces. Must be like
c:\programfiles\real\.....
I found that and when it tries to launch it it stops at
Programs and won't load. I usually have a win32
directory like f:\win32\real\... and put all my
win32 odin apps in that f:\win32\... directory. That
seemed to solve all my problems...

Hi
I was wondering how much memory you have. I am using CP
4.51 and TCPIP 4.3 and Java 1.3. I have no problems but
I am running 390 megs of ram. I have heard from other
people that running 64 megs or even 128 megs of ram it
is still a dog... I have had no problems. There is a
Java refresh 1.3. You simply install it over top and it
puts the Java plugin into IBM browser. I also copied
all my plugins from Netscape 4.61 and they all work
fine.
Maybe I was just lucky. I am also running the latest
Warpzilla version and it is work fine as well. I
compare the two and see which one is better but...they
are very similar.

Can anyone help ?
I am having problems getting Netscape to respond when a link
to an audio\x-pn-realaudio is on a webpage. I have got realplayer V8
working via Odin under OS/2 Warp 4.5 (FP15, TCPIP 4.3) however
Netscape refuses to launch it from the browser page and suggests
I go to real.com to obtain the plugin. I have it configured as an
application (Don't think I can make it a plugin can I?) in
edit/preferences/navigator/applications, I think correctly (I've checked
my typing several times).
What is strange, and may be a clue to the problem is that when I
installed
this "application" setting, I named it Realaudio plugin, however now
all of the realplayer related applications display their titles as
realplayer.exe file !!
I also run Warpzilla and IBM's new browser (on different systems) and
since IBM say that NS 4.61 plugins and apps "should" work with the
IBM Browser, I'd like to configure realplayer in these browsers
as well, but while it won't work on the "basic" NS 4.61, I am
retisent to do so.
Thanks for any advice,
