Nothing concrete, though I am hopeful that we will be able to avail
ourselves of any video conferencing hardware at the convention site to
facilitate remote attendance.

Got me... I just install and fix computers; I don't play with them. :-)
The last I heard of Second Life, a couple was getting divorced over some
virtual affair the husband was carrying on while online. Seems a little
over-the-top for my taste...

I am hoping that eCS 2.0 will be out by then. :) It would
be great to hear and discuss it at the WarpStock convention.

Warpstock 2009 is going to be a better show than we've put on in a few years.
Regardless of the location, I think 2009 will give more OS/2 and eCS
information for a better price. If that sounds like a good deal, get ready to
make travel plans.

I believe there is actually such a group on the

Hi Edgar,

The problem is getting the right Mesa 2 users. The spreadsheet is the third
most popular computer program using the name Mesa 2. Just say Mesa 2, and
you'll get a part of the Mesa project, an open-source replacement for OpenGL.

Combining it with the 4os2 program isn't needed, unless you were saying for
OS/2 users, rather than the now open-source program 4os2.

Anyway, Bart Bremmers uses Mesa 2, and he's nearly local to you, and he's a
great guy to work with.

Maybe Sundial_Mesa2 would be a better choice for the yahoogroup name.

I have been, for some months, trying to get this to work. I wish to
print my bank's deposit slips for a current account out to a Xerox
8400. I wish to make some pages a 'landscape' orientation and others
in portrait. The on-line helps says the command is:

rc=SETPRINTSETTING(layer,property,value) so:

rc=SETPRINTSETTING(5,"LANDSCAPE","ON") should do the trick. I get a
zero for the value of rc when I run this but cannot get it to switch
one particular page to landscape.

I tried setting the orientation in pages property but running the
script does not change these values.

Note that doing it from the menu yields the correct results.

So, I should attend my own Mesa2 seminars at Warpstock. "DO NOT TRY TO
CREATE YOUR OWN SCIPTS ... LET MESA DO IT FOR YOU"

The script recorder yeilds: SETPRINTSETTING(5,"ORIENTATION","PORTRAIT")

How was I to know the Property = "ORIENTATION"
and the value = "PORTRAIT"

Is there any interest in creating a MESA2_4OS/2 group in yahoo?
(Or am I the only Mesa2 user alive?)
Let me know.

That isn't surprising, considering the area. Can you look for a place to simply
rent the conference space? I think many people would like to drive to Warpstock
for the day.

If we can charge $50 per day, and have 50 visitors, then Warpstock can afford
$2500 for the conference rooms.

That's easy enough. I'm the guy who did the room assignments. Check your

Sorry for quoting your entire message for such a short reply. Please call them
ahead of time. Jennifer told me security would have a list, but that just makes
me think you should call ahead all the more.

I had written to neil about my late arrival a couple weeks ago and he
checked and advised me that I need to checkin with the campus safety office
and they'd be able to take me to the unit. I booked a single so I wouldn't
bother anyone checking in late. Anyway Neil put directions for late
checkins on the travel page.

"Late Arrivals:

If you arrive after 10:00 pm, here is the procedure:

When you enter the west entrance, you will be stopped at the entrance
kiosk. You should request that the CSO (Community Safety Officer) for
College 8 meet you near the apartments to let you into your apartment. In
the morning you should then go to the Conference Office at 7:00 am or later
to register and receive your keys, meal card and parking permit (if
needed). The CSOs are on duty from 7:15 pm until 2:45 am. If you will
arrive after 2:45 am, you should stay at a nearby hotel and arrive on
campus the next morning.

Please take a moment to download the map of College 8 from our File
Manager and print it to bring with you for reference. This will show you
exactly where the conference office is located. The apartments for
Warpstock are very near this office as well. "

I suppose the question is do I need to know my apartment number before I
arrive? If so then I will call them, or will the entrance gate have a list?

Do we have fog in Santa Cruz? I'm sure you've seen Santa Cruz fog in a movie.
This is Hollywood's back yard.

This is all happening way past my bedtime. Good luck!

Picking it up is not a problem, but we'll need to have a clandestine
meeting in the fog at night (is there fog in Santa Cruz?) to get him
past the gate. Sounds like some movie I once saw... :-)

Mark, if you don't have my cell number handy (you should), drop me PM
and I'll get it to you. Call me when you get on campus, and I'll meet
you (unless Conference Services has a better idea).

Can one of the board members pick up Mark's check-in stuff? Cell phones
can be handy.

If you haven't already, Mark, you should contact the Conference Services
office to arrange for a late check-in: 831-502-7000. Their normal hours
