Years ago, before my brother retired he had a print sighting.
He worked for Oregon state road depratment. Him and a group of workers were on some of the back roads of Oregon clearing brush on the sides of the small roads when one of them saw a big foot print. It was not any of theres and it was not quite human.
A few years ago here in Kentucky where I now live my family and I were outside on a particulary balmy evening. We had our outdoor candles lit. All fo a sudden a might howl arose from the woods nearby, we all looked at each toehr and headed toward theh ouse, that is all except my son, he was franticlly trying to blow the candle on the patio out with a piced of cardboard. He waved taht thing at the candle over and over in a panic, all it managed to do was make the candle flame even brihgter..finaly he plaed something over it and smothered the flame.
Somethime later we were watching a sjpw about big foor where the person had recorded the scream...it was identicle to the one we had heard that night.

I just discovered your group and the Warrens because of their mention in Ralph Sarchie's book "Beware the Night". I'm looking forward to learning more about the Warrens and their work! I also wanted to let group members know about a couple of groups I've founded that they may find interesting. They are Exorcist and Exorcism: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/exorcistandism/ which was inspired by the movie and Blatty's book "The Exorcist". This group deals with that topic, exorcism and demonology. Another group is dedicated to the life and works of the late Father Malachi Martin, himself an exorcist and prolific author of novels and non-fiction books, such as "Hostage to the Devil": http://groups.yahoo.com/group/malachimartin/ Everyone is invited to vist and join if interested!

Not being a computer genius myself, i was a little nervous at first,
but when I saw how easy it was to get and use this feature on yahoo,
I was really pleased with myself :-)
The new version makes it really easy to start a chat as well.

Hi, this is a reply to some questions asked about my post at the
other site, which seems to be down at the moment. I hope no one minds
that I post it here.
To the moderator, thanks for not deleting my post and leaving it open
for discussion. My post did not mean to discredit the Warrens, just
simply to educate myself and others who might be open to alternative
possibilities on the matter.
Mike, you are right. I don't personally know all the TRUE facts or
the people involved, hence the reason for my post, because I would
truly like to know. I base my information from many years of research
and reading in the field. Yes, I did have the opportunity to ask Ed
and Lorraine these questions personally, but I would have found it
rather rude and intrusive to question them in such a way as I was a
guest in their home (even though I paid an admission fee). I'm not
trying to start trouble, just looking for answers to logical
questions. I live in RI now, but have lived all over New England,
including Connecticut, not far from the Warrens hometown of Monroe.
I also used to live in Spencer, MA, the town next to Warren and was
very familiar with Maurice Ts case long before it was a book. No, I
don't know the exact facts, but many locals relayed stories of drug
abuse (and worse) that were never mentioned in the book. As far as
the Warrens explaining the aftermath, you are right, I haven't been
to one of the Warren's lectures in years, so I have not had the
opportunity to hear their explanation, and that is why I asked. What
have they said? Why isn't the information posted on their website?
In fact, with all the information the Warrens claim to have(videos,
recordings, photos, etc) why isn't more of it posted at their site to
help educate us? Case in point, in regards to Arne Johnson's case, Ed
says in GHOSTBUSTERS that he was ready to show the courts videos and
recordings of the case to prove the existence of demonic possession.
Where are these things? Why not post them at the site to help people
like me and others understand what really happened? Every time I saw
the Warren's lecture they showed the same film clips and recordings,
yet they are said to have thousands of hours of evidence. It wouldn't
take much to post some stronger evidence to support their claims.
As far as the $5,000 reward to prove Amityville a hoax, I liken it to
The Amazing Randi's $1,000,000 challenge to prove the existence of
psychic phenomena. How can you prove anything in this field? What
would it take that would be considered real proof? As for not one
person taking Ed up on the challenge, I have to go on your word. Why
isn't the challenge posted on their site? I agree the Warrens must
have better things to do then to prove anything to skeptics, so why
even bother with the challenge? I suppose the only people who are
eligible for the $5,000 would be the Lutz's themselves.
As for everything I read being second or third person hearsay, can't
we say the same thing about a lot information in the Warren's books?
But I agree with you, you can't believe everything you read, either
pro or con, and I don't (again bringing up the reason for my post in
the first place). I don't have the answers, and I don't claim the
Warren's are frauds, and no, I don't have all the answers or claim to
know the truth. But the fact is there is more evidence to disprove
the Warren's claims then there is to prove them, hence my obvious
skepticism.
A final word, again I reiterate I mean not to discredit the Warrens.
They have always appeared to be kind and sincere and I believe that
they truly believe in the work that they do. I know Ed is in ill
health and I wish him the best. Please don't consider my questions a
personal attack. Again, I am just curious. Thanks for all your
replies. Best regards.
Hi folks,
Hey, what happned to the other site? Anyhow, I'll repost my questions
here.
I'm new here and before you all jump all over me I would like to ask
a few questions that maybe some of you can answer. Let me first say
that I've been a fan of the Warrens for many years, have been to
their home and their lectures and seminars, but have always viewed
them a with a bit of skepticism. Please don't take this the wrong way
and I mean know disrespect to Ed and Lorraine, I'm just curious as to
what knowledge can be uncovered by speaking to others, maybe even Ed
and Lorraine can answer these themselves….
1) It was obvious that Ed and Lorraine were not very fond of
Stephen Kaplan, although his book, THE AMITYVILLE HORROR CONSPIRACY
was interesting, informative, and enlightening. They didn't have to
agree with Kaplan's views, but why were they so rude and
disrespectful to him, going as far to seem pleased that he passed
away at an early age from a heart problem? Mr. Kaplan was no evil
man. Is all the research and facts that point to the case as being a
hoax (uncover by Kapln and others)And why has almost everyone
involved in the case (except for the Warren's and the Lutzes),
including Ronald Defeo himself, have admitted it was all a hoax? How
can anyone possibly not consider the overwhelming evidence that it
was indeed a hoax? Why wasn't the open letter to the Warrens
concerning Amityville every replied to (it can be found here:
http://www.ghostresearch.org/articles/amityville.html)
2) How do, or why haven't, Ed and Lorraine responded to or even
mentioned the tragic aftermath of Massachusetts farmer Maurice
Therault after the book SATAN'S HARVEST was published, even after his
sister accused the Warrens of being party responsible for his
untimely demise? As one reporter put it, "If you ever get accused of
rape, claim that it wasn't you, it was really a demon who looks just
like you, call Ed and Lorraine to testify on your behalf. Justice'll
triumph for sure."
3) How could the Warrens go from battling demons to having a
psychic encounter with Bigfoot? Doesn't this stretch things a bit?
Hasn't the quality of the Warren's books degraded considerably since
Gerald Brittle ceased in writing their books?
4) Why are there so many inconstancies found in almost all of
the Warrens books, sometimes even contradicting themselves (case in
point, compare the DEVIL IN CONNECTICUT to their own retrospect in
GHOST HUNTERS, the facts seemed to have changed quite a bit). If the
Warren's were mistaken about Arne Johnson, aren't they trying to help
a murderer get away with murder?
5) Why did the price for the Warren's occult museum go from $10
to $12 to $35? Could it be a result of lagging book sales?
6) Is everything written in every one of their books taken as
absolute truth and fact, or are we accepting artistic license and
exaggeration as fact? The inconsistencies and untruths found in their
books number well into the hundreds. A basic example can be found
here: http://www.sff.net/people/doylemacdonald/r_sahar.htm
7) Why are so many respected parapsychologists and researches
the field so harshly critical of the Warrens (and please don't quote
any passages from THE DEMONOLOGIST) and accuse them of fraud and
deception for the sake of selling books? Are they really jealous or
could it be they have insight and experience that we don't?
8) How come every time the Warrens say "the catholic church
authorized an exorcism," they really mean that they had Father
McKenna, a friend and pastor in their hometown (who was thrown out of
the priesthood decades ago) perform an exorcism?
9) Could it be, just maybe, that the cases the Warren's
investigate are misinterpreted by them as a result of their religious
beliefs?
10) Isn't it rather premature for any human being to claim to
have all the answers of the mysteries of the world around us and the
Universe itself?
Please don't all hate me at this point. I'm asking very legitimate
questions. I have nothing against the Warrens, I'm just curious like
the rest of you, so please don't think I'm trying to start trouble.
Whatever the Warren's are, the real thing or charlatans, I enjoy
their work regardless. Your input is welcomed. Thanks,
Paul
