Dear Members,

I thought this list was quiet . . . . it turns out that for some reason
all new members have their messages subject to moderation. This is not
something I set, or something I currently know how to change. Its a
good thing in many ways - such as to stop off-topic messages - but it
means I have to keep an eye on the list to enable new members' messages
to be approved.

Now, in October, I realise that some messages have been pending since
July!

Sorry about this!

Since this is a low volume list, I am not going to habitually monitor
the moderation window. The system sends me a message saying that there
is a message to moderate, but if, in the flurry of email, I miss this,
then I might not realise that there is a message pending. I have
altered my mail filtering rules so I am not likely to miss any such
moderation notice, but if for some reason you think I am asleep at the

When a new member posts a good message, I will usually change their
status to not requiring any further moderation.
