hi dave,
have you thought about cable? i have a home network hooked up to cable
and it's very impressive. the cost is about $40 / month (which i understand
is cheap compared to DSL)... my downloads are great and it is quite
consistant. Cable also allows constant internet access and it seems that
TCI (AT&T) has finally gotten the technical difficulties under control and
we have not lost connection in quite awhile.
anyway, these are just some thoughts regarding local broadband options.
Don
ps. i really mean it when i say that the downloads are good. on a good day
i have gotten 10 Megs / Min which is unbelievable when downloading a large
peice of software or when getting mp3's on Napster.

Subject: [Whatcom_Webmasters] Local DSL providers
Hi all,
I'm looking at leaving the days of dialup modems behind, and
going to DSL. Is anybody here familiar with the different DSL
providers? I'm looking for the cheapest one in Bellingham that
includes POP mail accounts and web AND usenet access.
Also, with a DSL connection you're online 100% of the time the
computer is powered on, right? Or do you have to 'dial in'?
Thanks for any assistance,
Dave
