Greetings all.
My name is Rick O'Connor and I'm the owner/lead web designer for Totally Wired
Web Creations, a professional web design boutique located in Bellingham,
Washington.
I received an email from our list a few days ago from Beth Marsau, the moderator
of the Whatcom Webmasters mail list, saying that we can now discuss our
businesses and brag about ourselves using this mailing list...I think this is a
great idea ;) So, here goes...
ABOUT MY COMPANY:
My company as you already know is located in Bellingham, WA. I've been running
it for about 1 1/2 years and have over 4 1/2 years of web design experience. My
company primarily focuses on the graphical front end of web sites such as the
navigation scheme, site layout, and overall appearance of the web site. I am
also currently working on implementing back-end technologies into my projects
such as ASP ( active server pages), CGI (common gateway interface), and SSI
(server side includes).
PROJECTS:
My company has also designed numerous web sites both for small businesses, large
corporations, and individuals wanting a powerful presence on the Internet. Some
of the sites that my company has designed includes:
-The American Group ( www.theamericangroup.com)
-First Washington Net Factory ( www.fwnf.com )
-MetaForma.com ( www.metaforma.com )
-Samson Ocean Systems (www.samsonoffshore.com
-StarTouch Wireless ( www.startouch.com )
You can view my company's current list of clients on my website,
www.totallywired.net
REASON FOR JOINING MAILING LIST:
One of the main reasons I joined this mailing list was to network with the
numerous other web development companies and individuals in Whatcom County.
Also, I know there are other web design companies in Whatcom County that
specialize in other services that my company does not. That is why I am hoping
to get in contact with these companies to outsource specific modules of a
project to. Also, since I constantly have my hands full designing web sites, it
would be nice to have other companies or individuals helping me in the
development process.
I also think that having the opportunity to network with the other individuals
and companies in Whatcom County is an extreme benefit to us all because it
allows us to have the option to meet with one another face to face to discuss
web development topics, ideas, etc.. and also allows us to get to know one
another.
This is for you Beth; in the e-mail you sent out, you said you had a place that
was available for us to meet at, where bouts is this place and when do you think
you could meet?
Anyways, that's about it.
Feel free to contact me personally about anything I talked about or anything you
might have questions on.
Look forward to meeting with you all soon.
Regards,
Rick O'Connor

Subject: [Whatcom_Webmasters] Introductions to local webmasters
Normally on an email list subscribers aren't allowed to advertise. It's
illegal if it unsolicitated.
But since this is a local list, not open to just any one in cyberspace, but
to people who want to network in the local web-based community, I think it
makes sense to share and exchange resources.
So, as list owner, I'm inviting you to mention your business, talk about
it, and invite others on this list to visit your website(s). I'm
particularly interested in your websites because the reason I started this
list is to facilitate crosslinks. So if you have some sites to share, do
tell :)
Also, there has been some inquiries about possible in-person meetings. I'm
open to it, so if you let me know your available times, I'll set it up. I
have access to a meeting space in Bellingham which would adequately fit a
dozen or so people. Weekends would probably work best for that particular
setting. If others on this list would like to meet during the day or
evening, suggest a time and location.
And if people want to network amongst themselves, you can find a list of
members on the website: http://www.egroups.com/members/Whatcom_Webmasters.
Let's get better acquainted and see if we can help each other out.
