It's easy to insert images in most of the popular wikis. You just
type a URL to an image. The regex in the background that matches
URLs just goes through one more check to see if the extension
on the filename is gif/jpg/png/etc.
Some wikis allow you to upload the image to the server to prevent
404s using HTTP Upload.
By the way, the main reason that wikis haven't taken off is that they
weren't marketed heavily. Still, when I ask people if they know what
a wiki is, they go, "You mean wikiweb.com?"
