Description

This is a new kind of Computer Support List. We have all seen the variety of open exchange lists where anyone can submit a question, and anyone can answer that question. Though these lists serve their purpose well, they still lack the directness of appropriate solutions.

What this list will seek to do is to bring the person asking the question to a more direct and useful response from someone who is skilled enough to give an appropriate answer. As such this list will be moderated.

What we will be doing with this particular list is allowing anyone to post a question, but all answers to those questions will be answered only by pre-approved moderators. All answers from subscribers can also be posted to the list after approval by the moderator.

So, if you post a question or answer now, please don't be alarmed if it does not show up right away.

Once we have noticed a series of solid answers from a certain poster, we will approach him with the idea of becoming a list moderator. As a moderator, he will be free to answer any question at any time. If you would be interested in applying to become a moderator, please feel free to send a message to the list owner, (mailto:bplatt@poncacity.net) with a short bio.

This list will be a bringing together of independent computer consultants and the folks who need their help. Each moderator will be asked to include a signature file with each of his posts, up to 8 lines in length. For our question askers, we ask the you keep your signature file to two lines in length.

If you have been searching for a forum where you can find less chat and a higher quality of computer support solutions, then this is the list that you need to subscribe to. Since most of these lists can turn into a place for a high volume of posts, we do recommend that everyone switch their subscriptions to Digest Mode.

We look forward to helping you with your computer problems too, so come on in.
