Arrangement: Project assignments with average terms ranging from 3 to 9 months

Location: Work is primarily onsite in cities in US and Canada to be selected
(specify your local geographic location – local candidates will be given
preference)

Start: November 2008

Duration: Open-ended

Key Requirement Set: 6 – 8 years of project management experience with the
end-to-end installation and acceptance of wireline and wireless
telecommunications systems comprised of Alcatel-Lucent equipment (and equipment
formerly under the Lucent and Alcatel brands) and the integration of third-party
equipment; BA/BS degree or equivalent.



Desired Experience (but not required): Experience noted above in Metropolitan
Area Network build-outs; experience in building out telecommunications systems
incorporating the use of Mass Transit and Utility rights-of-way.



Requirements for Project Manager: The Project Manager is the single point of
accountability for project delivery and customer escalations (products or
services). The Project Manager is responsible for the overall success of
planning and implementing a project that meets customer needs. The PM may
supervise the work of vendors and other customer personnel to achieve product
deployment or project readiness. The PM responsibilities may include: initiating
a project/program design, planning various aspects of the project's execution
and organizing necessary resources to provide the customer with technical,
management and cost proposals. This position is also accountable to the end
Customer and our client for delivering all projects in accordance with the
contract.



Major Activities and/or Essential Functions:

Examples of typical activities would generally be any or all of the following:

* Develop a complete understanding of the customer's business needs.

* Serve as principal interface between the customer, the project team and any
internal/external partners participating in the project.

* Manage allocation of resources to ensure project/contract deliverables.

* Review project/program issues for impact on schedule, variation and change
control.

* Develop the necessary project/program to fulfill the desired results of the
customer.

* Resolve discrepancies and provide solutions or alternatives when issues arise.

* Provide leadership on multiple high-revenue projects of high complexity -
typically with EF&I responsibilities for numerous products/services, multiple
locations and ownership of other vendors.

* Develops action plans to improve performance throughout the duration of the
project/program.

* Exercises judgment with in broadly defined practices and policies in selecting
methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

* Ensures schedules and performance requirements are met.

* Problems/decisions involve analytical, interpretive thinking; defines and
resolves issues requiring variable, diverse and deductive thinking.

* Analyzes a problem, develops solutions and evaluates the strength and
weaknesses in deciding the best approach.

* Review results with senior management to determine success of operation.



Knowledge, Experience & Competency:

* Applies advanced principles, theories and concepts to achieve objectives in
creative and effective ways. Considered an expert within a
discipline/functional area.

* Broad knowledge of industry and familiar with Alcatel and Lucent products as
required or similar technology

* Typically requires more than 6 years experience with a bachelor’s degree or
equivalent experience.

* Strong business acumen in planning and organizing, information integration,
decision-making and ability to achieve results while focusing on customer
requirements and business success.

* Determines and pursues courses of action essential in obtaining desired
outcomes.

* Project leadership responsibilities.

* PMP Certified preferred but not required.



Requirements for Senior Project Manager

In addition the skills of a project manager as outlined above the Senior Project
Manager:

* Acts as prime consultant.

* Demonstrates leadership role in forming/maintaining productive working
relationships with customers and suppliers.

* Requires strong communication skills with presentation to customer’s executive
and chief level officers

* Typically requires more than 8 years experience with a bachelor’s degree or
equivalent experience.

* Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters
concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.

* Pursues proactive relationships with internal and external customers/vendors/
and associates for the benefit of our client’s business.

* Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance of, others
in sensitive situations.

* Certified PMP Preferred

* Had Strong Alcatel-Lucent product knowledge in specific area of the assignment
or equivalent telecommunications product knowledge.
