I like your desire to find a second life for the old PC's - however, I believe
that you and Don Quixote are tilting at windmills as it were

Not to put a damper on your project but at best you can only do a pseudo mesh
and the performance will be underwelming as the throughput tax on each hop will
degrade your bandwidth that you will be able to use for payload.

What i really want to do is to setup some Wifi Mesh Network from some old pc
with wifi card as APs. I am implementing this for my project "Wifi Mesh Network
AP Using Old PC".
I have implemented some Wifi network working at 802.11b/g-infrastructure.
