Earthquakes and Quake Phenomena
This group has been founded to discuss earthquakes around the world and their associated phenomena, such as - but not limited to - erratic animal behaviour that will sometimes accompany seismic activity.
Such phenomena include Tsunami, volcanic activity, seiches, thermal activity, mountain building, and fault types.
We examine historical earthquakes,
the building code and earthquakes, preparedness for the big one, and social understanding of earthquakes.
Around the world millions of people watch and wait
for the day when the ground will heave. Cities with
millions of inhabitants prepare for something most
would love to not have, but must invariably endure.
Earthquakes are an age old phenomena that bring
both benefits and consequences. Cities that have
taken 300 years to be built are leveled in 30 seconds
of terror, or new land for use upraised by titanic
forces beyond anyones control. Earthquakes bring
on a range of benefits and horrors that people often
cannot understand. This group is geared towards
helping ease the misunderstandings.
I urge ALL people interested in seismicity and it's
impact on society to read Message 2 and JOIN this
club. DISRESPECTFUL BEHAVIOUR AND SPAM
WILL NOT BE TOLERATED IN THIS GROUP.
