The private communications center and shared library is being brought on line as an interim support tool for the World Energy Futures Forum - an ad hoc group in formation. This little toolkit is intended to support and interact with the web site for the Forum which is now in the process of being updated after several years of neglect The Forum offers a free, public, flexible repository of information, tools and counsel for people and groups who feel that our energy systems need to be, and can be made to be, more sustainable
Energy Futures is a focused program being developed within the The Commons, an open world-wide forum concerned with improving our understanding and control of technology as it impacts on people in their daily lives. Unconstrained by bureaucracy, economic interests or schedules, The Commons offers a shared space on the Internet and off the economy, freely available to all via the World Wide Web and supported by an expanding collection of communications tools for group work and knowledge building purposes.
First Time Visitor?
First time visitors are invited to read the Welcoming Note which explains briefly how this component of the program works. If you intend to participate actively . . . such as sending email to the group or posting materials under the Public Library or Links Media sections, we would ask you to give these guidelines close attention before first use. A few minutes well spent there will make you a better neighbor and The Commons a more focused, creative and useful tool for us all. If you have questions, you can address them by email to the ecopl@n management team. Alternatively you can leave a voice message or fax at our 24 hour services at +331.5301.2896.
