Dear mammal watchers-
A friend sent me this from Santa Fe, Texas. Does anyone know the story of fallow deer and how they became so prevalent?

It also looks like they may have been brought in to game preserves for hunting. Let me know if you have any more information! Are they really "taking over the country"?
