Hi - Here's a note from the head of the CBF that some of you may be
interested in regarding a proposed development near Blackwater National
Wildlife Refuge. See
http://www.cbf.org/blackwater where you can sign
a petition about it. --Kathy

Dear Robin,
Because of you, our petition to stop the Blackwater Resort development
is on fire! I cannot tell you how much we appreciate your prompt and
passionate response.
I have been involved with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation for nearly 30
years and have never seen a response like this. As of this writing we
have more than 6,000 signatures.
Let's not stop here. Let's set a goal of 10,000 signatures in the next
7 days.
We'll get there and more if we each commit to getting and confirming at
least one more signature.
Even if you have already, take a moment, think of a friend who feels
strongly about clean water and sprawl, and forward this email along
with a personal note to them.
This success of this petition shows us is that we can, in fact, take
control of our own destiny, even when powerful forces oppose us.
Forward this mail to someone who might join the fight. Then, follow up
with them to see if they've signed the petition.
I know we can do it - we can protect our heritage -farming, fishing,
hunting on the Shore. We can protect Blackwater National Wildlife
Refuge.
We can have clean rivers and a healthy Chesapeake Bay. We can do all
of this if we refuse to give in.
Thank you again.
