THIS IS PROVIDED FOR THE BUSY HOBBYIST.
It is primarily a blog/notice board providing local information for those who specialise in cultivating xerophytic plants in New Zealand. Especially those plants from arid environments that have water storage tissues in stems, leaves, roots, or in any combinations of these. In other words succulent plants such as agave, aloe, cacti, many Crassulaceae and mesembs etc. Its broad focus also includes some bromeliads, some orchids and qualifying examples from numerous other plant Families.
We are here primarily to improve the local knowledge regarding the xerophytic plant hobby and to provide a venue for the posting of pertinent news items, calendar events, links to Internet articles and websites, good product and plant sources and as a storage facility for quality photographs, articles and databases.
We particularly welcome ANYONE who is able to post news and information about the Cactus & Succulent Plant hobby in NZ.
Plant identifications are best answered by international specialist groups such as;
