I haven't gotten brave enough to try YM9 yet.. but on previous versions 7 &
8, that fix for showing up on websites is in the YM main Menu, then
Preferences, then the Privacy section. The second option down is "Allow
Yahoo! websites to show when I am online". Put a check in that box and you
should be good to go if you want them to show when you are online.
Your other issues could be a result of a bad install. Did you use the Yahoo
website to download the installer or did you go to a site like FileHippo.com
or other reputable download site and download a full version? Did you clean
your registry of old version remnants? See my blog article "How I always do
a clean uninstall and reinstall of Yahoo Messenger" for more details.

Yahoo_Messenger@ yahoogroups. comSubject: [Y!M] Does anyone know why my messenger shows me offline to my
groups when I am online
I found an old setting button on a group profile page that will not remain
unchecked and I think that is what is keeping me from showing I am online
when I am. As it is, my group profile page shows me as offline. I have my
yahoo configured correctly (ie not invisible to
people) and my stealth settings are set to "allow" each contact (can't find
a way to shut stealth settings down; they won't come up on v.9).
That is the other thing, on v.9 with the yahoo M screen many things are
blanked out when I try to click on them like Stealth Settings, Contact
details, ring tone - no way to access them from the Contact button.
Anyone got ideas on how to show up as being online to my groups? I hear
being on
broadband might be a problem and I am; how would I get around that
issue?
