Hello,
I have been updating the inventory here and will be adding
over 25,000 surface mount LED's to the database. They range from
RED, RGB, Blue, Green, Yellow and even UV!!!!! (Dangerous to look
at UV) There will be several types of White LED's added too. I was
also able to get more of the 5mw red laser modules. They went fast
the last time we got them. I was also able to get several hundred
High Power BiMOSFET's that are rated at 1200volts. Wheeee. I see
solid state tesla, taser projects in the future.
Young Scientists Club
Well I was patient and the LMC6572BIM Low power op-amps
reappeared in ebay and I was able to get 760 of them.
Onward with the EEG project. I even obtained some isolated
power supply modules that will keep me from frying my brain
with the prototype amps. Onward through the fog.
Well, I missed the bidding on the amplifiers for the EEG project
but I'm still trying. Local members go to the local members web
group for more information. Sorry.
Yes we're still here and accepting members. I just haven't had
time to enter more items so just ask and I'll check the inventory
for anything that's not already listed. Also go to our eBay listings
by dratomic_yso for some really rare items up for auction.
The STARCASTER pulsed transmitter is back underway!
Due to some donations from my son in law, the foundation
for the STARCASTER transmitter can now be isolated up
to 1,000,000 volts and allow us to use a more efficient
power supply to run it. The Oxy-Propane nitrate fueled
flux compression generator is now possible due to the
much higher priming voltage. Thanks E****** for the
insulators. We can now generate the necessary pressures
to repeatably fire the transmitter and still retain the
more expensive core components. Still have to sacrifice
the solinoids due to deformation but replacement will
be a heck of a lot cheaper. And thank you to M********'s
for the super high Voltage/Current NPN's for the driver
stage (primary only). We also received some 1200V / 200A
IGBT's that will be worked in some how in the future. I
have never seen such huge transistors in my life. WOW!
We also found some peltier junctions coolers that I'm
thinking about using on the gas coolers. More on that
later.
Dr. Atomic
Well, things are finaly kind of settling down
so I have begun to post some of the great stuff
that has been donated by some fantastic folks.
Prototype boards, surface mount passive and active
components, soldering stations, and equipment that
I still need to test and calibrate. We are have
received and are about to receive red, green, yellow
and ultra violet surface mount LED's. I'm even
trying to get some RGB versions too. New H-Bridge
DC motor driver IC's, HUGE power MOSFET's, SMD
fuses (2A), mini fuses (5A), a variety of switching
power supplies in various sizes and capacities.
I even got ahold of some project boxes and more
LCD display modules. So much stuff and since I'm
doing the inventory alone a limited amount of time.
Hang in there, More to come.
Dr. Atomic
Hello,
Well things are settling down and the club has resumed
operation with a fantastic donation of some prototype boards
so that we can now use the 89C52's in the TQFP package to
build the processors for the EEG interface project. The A-grav
project has been put on hold until we can find a cheaper
source for liquid nitrogen. Thanks go out to W. Barrett for the
donation of an oxygen dewer for the project. We have also received
a large donation of reels of SMD resistors and capacitors. The
plate through board project hasn't produced consistant yields
yet but I think that some of the donated chemicals may be
contaminated. My grand-daughter had her baby. His name is Adrian.
Cute as hell and has just discovered his VOICE!!!!!! Yow. The
data on the Starcaster project is now available on the club
FTP server at the secondary IP. Oh by the way. The british explosives
firm we'd lined up to make the core for the Starcaster vircator
has backed out because they are having trouble getting the
export license and we're having trouble getting permits here
due to the Patriot Act. The planned full power test has to be
put on hold until May or June at the earliest. This means that only
the low-medium power test data will be available on the server for
now. And thanks to Heinrich A. for growing the sapphire rod for this
summer's quantum coupling experiment. Nice job Henry. More soon.
I'm still having trouble finding the time to bring the inventory
up to date so please be patient. There are some really pleasant
surprizes in store. And a note to John, your magnets should be done
later next week. The machinist had trouble shaping them without
spall screwing up the edges. I sent him the slightly softer alloy
and he says it seems to be easier to machine. It is only a tad less
permiable so there shouldn't be too much deviation from your figures.
Get in touch with me. He needs your armature data.

My wife was diagnosed with cancer in may and so I
have had to put the club inventory and activities on
hold for a bit. Sorry.
Moderator Young Scientists Club
I hope to update the database shortly. I have been going through the
stuff in the grotto and I keep finding the strangest things. Like a
complete selection of chemical elements from Hydrogen to Uranium. Sorry
the Uranium is not available to anyone since it and some others like
lithium, sodium and cesium have too much abuse potential both
terroristic and pharmaceutical. Kind of cool to find these items after
all these years though. There were also things like zinc selenide laser
windows and cadmium telluride windows. Who knew? It's been like
christmas or "gift day" around here. I don't have any idea what I had
planned for an eight segment cryogeniclly cooled IR detector but hey
there it is. I also found a number of items that I'm going to have to
consult my lawyer over since after 9/11 who knows what's illegal
anymore so those will definately have to wait before being listed. To
the local members who are helping in the inventory I must say again
that the JATO "bottles" are GONE. I turned them over to the local Air
Force Base for disposal since I can't store them properly and don't
have any idea if the contents are stable after all these years. Sorry.
I would have liked to build an outrageous amateur rocket too. More
later.

While I applaud your efforts for peace I would like to know
why you chose our group to deliver this message. Please explain.
You continued access to this group depends on it.
I'm interested in making available some items
from my chemistry / physics laboratory for the
members of the club. I'd be interested in hearing
about your needs. Some will require special permits
or special shipping and handling. Some simply can't
be shipped out of the country without special permits.
What will be made available will depend on the
responses I get from the clubs WEB members only.
The local members already have access to a whole
lot more than the web members because I have personal
contact with them.

Hi there,
I am SAM, an Iraqi refugee living in Lebanon at the moment; I have spent the
last 10 years of my life as a refugee registered with the UNHCR in Beirut. The
last 4 years, I have spent as an activist for peace and human rights (especially
refugees and asylum seekers) on the Internet; I'm also books author and ebooks
publisher. I have launched many campaigns to improve our situation as refugees
in Lebanon and hopefully bring more understanding to our problems worldwide. I
helped make many changes and improvements at the UNHCR office in Beirut; I used
the Internet as the field for my activities (you can read more about that in my
free ebook 'MY CAMPAIGNS'). All my ebooks are free and could be download from my
sites.
This is my newest campaign, it's about the illegal and humiliating actions of
the UNHCR, who using photos of refugees as banners and human-buttons to collect
money. This is an abuse of the dignity and humanity of the refugees and must
stop immediately and a clear public apology present by The United Nations High
Commissioner for Refugees. My friends, I am talking about the pictures you can
see here: http://lebanon.fateback.com/human-buttons.htm
Also you can read my new campaign 'Urgent, we need smile' here:

For more info about UNHCR and life of refugees you can read my free ebooks. I
invite you as fellow humans and members of the world community to support my
campaign by reading my article on my site and see the human-buttons. The
campaign is to support and improve the UNHCR http://www.unhcr.ch especially
after the last scandals in the UN and UNHCR, just for example:

Hi folks,
Had a bit of an accident in the lab this week.
As we all know liquid N2 and fingers just don't mix.
So typing is a bit of a pain. However the YCBO test
went pretty well I think. Got some good numbers and
I'll investigate more after the blisters pop. Just
a note. In the future use Indium seals for everything.
Don't believe the manufacturers hype when your safety
or health is on the line. Could be bad. And a bit
pricey when your LN2 goes bye bye before you can shut
it off. Shield is up to 3.25% or so but again I need
to crunch the numbers. The Burr-Brown isolation amps
are acting wonky. I need to go with something hermetic
since the thin film substrates seem to be suseptable
to the wide temp variations from being so close to the
detectors. I'm looking for a new supply of Indium for
the primary seals so for now the gravity shield tests
are going to be on hold. On the positive side though
I did pick up an eight channel NO2 cooled IR detector
for almost nothing (retail 35,000$) I've fixed the
cracked window so the next tests will provide more
information on the superconductors internal heating
from induction in the subtrate. Check with the gravity
research site for more information. Well, just a short
note. By the way I haven't received any requests lately
for components. The local club members are soaking up
the parts but they're located on thier own private
site so they don't come through here. Drop a line if
anything in the database is of use. The prices listed
are only for tax purposes. If you want to support the
club by buying that's great. But if you're in need and
don't have the funds.... Well, that what we're here for.

Alternative Technologies
Yellow Springs, Ohio
I just got a donation of some cool stuff. Some
super thin teflon PC Board material that should
be great for RF/Microwave experiments. Some RF
MMIC's, amplifier modules, Gunn diodes (10 Ghz)
Klystrons, waveguide (C, L, X, K and Ku band stuff)
even some magenetrons. I've got to test the stuff
before I put it up since I'm not interested in
mailing out junk no one can use. I'm in the
process of setting up a new PC Board silk screen
station so I'll get back to the group as soon as
possible. My dear doctor has me taking almost
15 different medications a day since the heart
surgery and the side effects sometimes leave me
a bit spaced out, so bear with me. I'm in the
process of building a whole body EM field monitor
to take a look at just what those drugs are doing
to me so I can keep an eye on when I space out the
most. But that's a project for when I have more
(Ha Ha) spare time.
Dr. Atomic
Hello Folks,
Sorry I didn't post new stuff yet but things have been
kind of busy around Alternative Technologies lately.
Our flux compression experiment went well and blew
back a really impressive EMP into the lab's computers,
(Our thanks to rcalande for the spark arrestors!!!!
They saved quite a bit of damage to the equipment!)
so we've had to rebuild them and load everything from
backups. It was successful though. The faraday protected
receivers showed that our pulse did reach the moon (selena)
and reflected back as expected but we did detect some
anomolies in the reflection time. Gravitational anomolies?
I bet that pulse reaches Barnards Star in one piece.
Well I don't know right at the moment. I'm transferring
the data to magnetic tape for now since I really don't
trust HD's or CD-r's for long term backup. We've had to
move the experiments a lot since the neighbors in the
locations we've been using don't appreciate having thier
TV / Cable / Radio signals popping out. And the bang
created by our (for now) chemical explosive driven
flux compression generators (powering vircators) scare
the hell out of the local wild / domestic animals and
really wear out the equipment fast. And I'm sure the
F.C.C. is curious what's going on. Ha. Ha.
I'm trying to work out a method that doesn't make so much
of a disturbance but most of the research in that area
is classified and hard (but not impossible) to access.
Anyway. I should be able to post the new database entries
and maybe some photos of the last experiment (once I get
the disclaimers signed) to the club site soon.
Hang in there and tell your friends.....
Dr. Atomic
I almost ready to post more components to the club. I just got some
great stuff off of eBay from a member of the group. If you get on there
then look for the stuff being offered by Calande, you won't be
disappointed at all. Also I'm catlogint the surface mount stuff and
that's taking a while since there are so many of them. I'll also be
putting up some equipment that's not in the best shape, working and not
but in storage so long who knows. Just a note. More soon.
