Re: [YourGhostStories] Can someone help? Tired and exhausted from night happenings

Hi, Desa.

First, I want to say how sorry I am to hear of your loss.

Second, welcome to the group.  You've come to the right place for all things paranormal and things that go bump (or tap, knock) in the middle of the night.  ;)

Okay.  I, to a limited point, understand what you're going through on this.

About 20 years or so ago, I was living in California.  Around that time, my religous practices weren't so up to par with what my family wished, and during that time, I'd invited some weird stuff into the house.  There was a week my Grandparents (Mom's side) had come down to visit for vacation, and they were sleeping out in the camper we had in our driveway.  One night, they woke up to someone knocking, HARD, on the door.  My dog was chained up outside, and did not bark once (we're talking about a dog that barked at LEAVES blowing!!!  He didn't bark!).  My Grandfather woke up, got to the door, no one was there.  This happened three different times in one night, a couple different times whilst they were staying with us.  Myself, I've heard taps and bangs on walls, floors, ceilings, at random times in random places in the house, usually when I was alone.

I am not saying that your religion had anything to do with what happened.  I am not saying your fiance's dad was into some mumbo jumbo crap or anything, either.  Sometimes, houses and land hold "memories" if you will, of the activities that happened when their residents occupied those places.  This is where residual hauntings come from, 90% of the time.  This, to me, sounds as though you have an intellectual haunting.  Residuals . . . The best way to describe what they are is if you put a CD on "repeat."  It just plays and plays until someone puts a stop to it, right?  That's how a residual is.  It just goes on and on and on until someone expells the presence.  The way the knocks, the bangs, and the smells and the staring eyes have been, that's an intellectual haunting.  It knows you're there and it's trying to interact with you, even if only to scare the living hell out of you.

I don't think that there's anything harmful there, and I applaud you that you're looking to try and debunk this before saying, "OMFG, MY HOUSE IS HAUNTED!!!!!  WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!!"  You, my friend, are very, very cool for doing that.  You rock.

Now.  Telling it to leave and getting the sense that it did, for a time, you may have told it, in some way, "Look.  You had a great hayday in your life.  It is time to move on.  Let US have this place, now.  I promise, you have nothing to worry about."

The smell of rotten eggs can be one of two things.  Yes, it could be a car battery, but if it's not that, and you can't find any other explanation, that could be the sign of an evil spirit.  They are pretty stinky little fuckers.  Honestly, I don't know WHAT it is, for sure, I am not a psychic.  I do have "feelings" once in awhile, and I - okay, not to go all "I see dead people" on you, but I do.  I sense them more than I see them, but I have seen them from time to time.

I do feel leery about telling you to invite a medium into your home.  Sometimes, they put out that their intentions are in the right place, but they invite things (consciously or subconsciously) that you don't need.

I tell you all this not b/c I wish to come off as a know-it-all, but I tell you this from my own personal experiences.  I have had MANY, and I want to help as best I can.

Happy Hauntings,

Taboo
