Zoot Software has released Zoot 4.0, a Personal Information Processor (PIP) designed for writers, researchers, students, scientists, physicians, lawyers and others whose work revolves around information processing. Zoot 4.0 offers a highly efficient process for collecting, reviewing and labeling raw information so that it can be classified, prioritized and viewed in meaningful timeframes and contexts.

Zoot 4.0 features a variety of automation tools designed to collect, route, categorize and filter information. The program lets you create a web of databases that work together to sort the inflow of information into meaningful, actionable units. The core automation features center around a technology called Smart Folders, which automatically collect and act on information based on content, date, priority and a host of other properties. For example, incoming e-mail messages containing requests for technical support can be automatically routed to a Technical Support database where more Smart Folders then categorize the messages by content, date received, priority, sender name or other user-defined properties.
