Yes, please follow these instructions exactly:
1. Right click START > Click EXPLORE (you should now be in Windows Explorer)
(In the left hand Window - headed Folders) > Click on your Hard Drive (usually
C)
2. Click on the View tab, click Details on the drop down menu
3. Click the Name column to sort items by name, press and hold down the CTRL
key, and then quit Windows Explorer by clicking Close in the upper-right corner
of the screen.
4. Release the CTRL key.
5. Restart your computer.
Please test and let us know whether this works for you. As it is a bit
difficult for me to test as my files are already sorted alphabetically.
Good Luck

Hi folks when I put a file in a folder it goes in in no order.

Yes https address protocol is normally where a greater degree of security
is involved. Normally if you type http it will automatically morph to
https if required (and probably unnoticed by most folks). Depends how clever
the website designer was, but you might get a warning like you do on firefox
but you might not on IE. For example if you go on the Argos site and you
click on the link that is there to order goods this takes you to a https
page because you will be paying with a credit card.. Yesterday I blew the
dust off one of my Vista machines to see if V - had anything to do with it.
But no it didn't, but I think it may somehow be connected with Cookies - I
did suggest amongst other things clearing the browser cache. I found that
on firefox I couldn't go to https pages because I wouldn't accept their
stupid cookies. But on IE/Vista I had no bother. I seldom, if ever type
URLs, if I feel I may go back, I bookmark the site..
Have you tried Tesco Direct and Twitter?
Never mind we will all have Windows 8 soon, and people will be asking for
advice on whether to go for the 128 bit version, or stick with 64 bits.
Incidentally as regards http (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) we are still on
version 1.1 but that may change if Google has it way - they have developed
a new, more efficient protocol for exchanging web pages between a website
and your PC. The new protocol called SPDY (pronounced 'speedy') is designed
to operate much faster than the current HTTP standard, and in lab tests
SPDY managed to load some of the Internet's biggest sites 55 percent faster
than HTTP. Won't happen overnight, but it is the shape of things to come.
In the meantime tick or untick the https verification box under trusted
sites as suggested by Duncan.
I hate the thought of you not being able to spend your pounds and bawbees
in Argos
Best wishes

Thanks in advance for any help.

Unfortunately it is impossible see the following
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;315255#appliesto
The possible alternative is to buy an external floppy drive (these are pretty
cheap).
How much better it would be if you had a second hard drive or preferably an
external hard drive. There is a lot of good software out there for imaging your
hard drive, paid and free.

What file format is it (MP3, MP4 etc)? Is WMP your default player?
In XP file association have you set WMP as the player for that type of file.

As we know today at every door of the house you will find a computer.
And most of us has experience with Windows operated computers,so here is
something which you all find useful. Computer repair specialists were always
hard to find, and many times we had to try to figure out a solution to fix a
computer which stopped working, because no specialist would come home, and to
take a PC to the service company was extremely troublesome.

AVG seems to be good I suppose, but it makes a big difference if you
have
the "free" version or the paid version.
However, as William has said, if MS Windows Security Essentials already
contains Windows Defender, then why not run only MS Windows Security
Essentials which contains both anti-virus and anti-spyware. Remember,
you
shouldn't be using two anti-virus programs.
I've just fired up my 2nd computer and needed AV & AS there, so I have
just
downloaded WSE and so far, so good. Time will tell if it is working as
'advertised' or not.

Kumar,
I was told that the Windows Security Essentials was good, but the PAID
version of AVG is superior? I have no idea, except that sites I have found
to 'evaluate' WSE there are many comments that it is good BUT a bit on the
"light" side?? Time will tell I guess.
As Paris has posted,
"Look in Control Panel
> add/remove programs and also start >
all programs"
If you have WSE or Windows Defender, it will be listed there. As Paris has
also stated it will be OK to load Windows Defender, but if you install WSE
(instead of your AVG), Windows Defender is already contained within WSE.

Look in Control Panel > add/remove programs and also start > all programs.
If you only have AVG installed you can install Windows Defender and are unlikely
to encounter conflict. As I previously said Windows Defender is an anti-spyware
application and not an antivirus or security suite. You cannot however install
Microsoft Security Essentials as you have AVG installed.

AVG seems to be good I suppose, but it makes a big difference if you have
the "free" version or the paid version.
However, as William has said, if MS Windows Security Essentials already
contains Windows Defender, then why not run only MS Windows Security
Essentials which contains both anti-virus and anti-spyware. Remember, you
shouldn't be using two anti-virus programs.
I've just fired up my 2nd computer and needed AV & AS there, so I have just
downloaded WSE and so far, so good. Time will tell if it is working as
'advertised' or not.
