Blog for Pleasure and Profit

When the Internet was "coming of age", those who wished to
have an Internet presence were troubled over the bother and
price tag involved in having a website. Whether for
enjoyment or profit, to be present on the Internet, a
website was necessary in those times. Amateur sites were
available at lower cost, but somehow lacked appeal. The
blog was invented to be a kind of "website for the poor
man" that would give you a place on the Net without having
to create a website. From one mans blog to another the blog
spot became the favorite way of interacting with people on
the Net. Even though it was drab, cost was not an issue;
but not for long.

Before long the modest blog spot offered the ability of
posting photographs, change of fonts, and all the other
stuff that normally came with websites. Very soon web
enthusiast had the ability to have their own blogs to talk
about various issues and sometimes to generate revenue.
Compared to a website, a blog was less difficult to start -
and it wasn't long before everyplace you look blogs were
springing up on every subject under the sun.

Anyone can start blogging. This includes YOU - whether or
not you have any Internet expertise. You can begin doing it
as a hobby.

Pick a blog that appeals to you and begin leaving comments.
This will teach you how to use the commands and the basics
of blogging. As your skill level improves, start your own
blog and I guarantee that you will find a world of
entertainment. In addition, you can make some money at it
if you find that appealing.

You will be more likely to succeed if you're blogging on a
topic of interest to you. Before you launch, spend some
time to choose a subject of interest to you. One man's
diversion for example, can make blogging a fun and
rewarding endeavor.

You can initially talk about some personal experiences.
After a while, you can seek out news, hold exhibitions,
network, make friends, and so many other such things
through your blog spot. There are thousands of people who
simply want to reach out and make friends with like-minded
individuals, and there is indeed no better avenue to reach
out than through a blog. You have your fun and you gain
immense knowledge at the same time.

Once you feel ready, you can begin earning some income by
monetizing your blog. By now you will have earned some
devotees who will advance your contacts even further.

The simplest way is to include Google Adsense on your blog,
thereby automating the monetization. If you want to put in
a little more effort you could start selling e-information
products through your blog. The blog spot that you created
for entertainment could wind up earning you a real good sum
of money by the end of the day.

Start a Business Now? Are you Crazy? The 3 Reasons Why You Shouldn't Wait

If you are stuck in a 9-5 job and you're sick of bosses and
commuting and office politics, perhaps you've been thinking
of starting business. What are you waiting for? You could
start a business later, but many aspiring entrepreneurs end
up spending years - yes, years! - stuck in their jobs while
they wait for the right time, which never comes. Or, you
could start a business now and start enjoying
entrepreneurship today.

The truth is, it will never feel like exactly the right
time to become an entrepreneur. You just have to bite the
proverbial bullet and just do it. If you really want it,
you will need to move forward in spite of your hesitations.
Here are 3 reasons why you want to start a business now
instead of waiting:

Reason 1: Start a business now, while you're still earning
an income at your 9-5 job. You can build it slowly and
reduce your reliance on your employer. This does take some
dedication to work all day and then work in the evenings,
but the long-term outlook is good. And, thanks to the
internet and automated downloads and inexpensive virtual
assistants, you can run a 24/7 business even though you can
only work a couple of hours a day! Imagine not having to
rely on your job!

Reason 2: The economy is perfect to start a business now.
Lots of would-be entrepreneurs try to time the market and
quit when the market is strong enough to sustain sales.
However, that isn't a wise choice because it's so easy to
talk yourself out of it or to think "now is not QUITE the
right time; I'll wait a little longer". (Before you know
it, the economy will have cycled back down again). If the
economy is hot, you might get customers faster. If the
economy is a little cooler (as it is now), you will create
a much stronger business foundation and can potentially do
far better when the economy improves.

Reason 3: Waiting to start a business is a form of
procrastination related to avoiding the complexity of
starting-up. Fortunately, it is far less complex than
assumed! Stop "thinking" and start "doing" and you'll make
your dreams come true faster. The difference between those
who "think" and those who "do" is not the action they take;
it's the success they achieve.

You've been thinking about becoming an entrepreneur... so
why not start your business now!

Do You Have What It Takes To Be One? An Entrepreneur?

Entrepreneurs are similar to doctors profession. Before a
doctor diagnosed a patient's illness, he will give a series
of medical exam and physical exams to the patient and also
the history of the patient. Just like the entrepreneurs,
they have responsibility to look at his customers needs as
his patients.

In this situation he should also be able to see what his
customers need just as the doctor knows pretty much what
his patients require. The entrepreneur must be careful to
know exactly where his business is headed and also he
should be sure he does not direct his customers in the
wrong direction. If so both he and his customers could lose
and be in financial peril.

The quality of an entrepreneur should be defined by his
vision, and his action taking as well as pursuing his
vision as one or many of the goals he has established for
himself and his clients.

Another definition is getting your butt off that couch and
getting out there and doing something. Some are not able to
do it. Many become couch potatoes so to speak.

An entrepreneur must be buoyant person and must be able to
foresee what will happen ahead of time. Some of these may
hinder his progress.

An entrepreneur must be very artistic and able to foresee
what will be the outcome of his thorough research that
could help his business.

He must be a leader who possesses a life that is very
stable but he must also be tough enough to handle physical,
mental and social or emotional problems as they come up.

He must also be a risk taker and must have the guts and the
balls to be able to jump into or plunge into a winning or
losing situation. He must not be afraid of taking big
chances when opportunity happens.

Another characteristic he should possess? He should be a
very charismatic person, and have the intelligence to
communicate with all walks of life he may come into contact
with. He also should have a certain amount of magic when
dealing with peers. He should be able to bring forth
enchanting and convincing words that most powers cannot
resist.

He must be energetic and willing to do whatever it might
take in order to come out a winner. His eagerness should be
at the top of his priorities and his exuberance must be
very high all the times.

His greatest failure would be sticking with the mentality
of being conventional. This would be one of an
entrepreneur's greatest downfalls. Think big, Act, Make
your business dreams come true.

4 Great B2B Internet Marketing Strategies

If you operate in a business-to-business environment, you
can still apply what are traditionally considered
consumer-oriented internet marketing strategies to reach
your targeted market. However, you will need to customize
each strategy in order to maximize its effectiveness with
your particular customer base.

Here are 4 Great B2B Internet Marketing Strategies to Get
Your Started

1. Education. The first B2B internet marketing strategy is
to educate your prospects. When new visitors arrive to your
web site, they are most likely looking for valuable,
informative content that answers theirs questions and
alleviates concerns. By providing your prospects with the
tools they need to make an educated and informed decision,
you are paving the way to a potentially rewarding long-term
relationship. At this point, your goal should be to help
your prospects make their own decisions, without beating
them over the head with a blatant sales pitch.

2. Establish Communication. Another important B2B internet
marketing strategy is to open the door to two-way
communication with your audience. The goal at this stage is
to educate and/or entertain your customers, while inviting
them to participate in a dialogue with you by providing
opportunities to make contact, leave comments or otherwise
contribute to your web site community.

However, you will also want to make sure that you don't go
overboard with this. Too frequent or forced communication
is a bad thing. So, when you do communicate, carefully
evaluate the frequency and duration of each contact.
Remember, a little bit of a good thing can go a long way!

Besides, you can always use follow-up methods like
eNewsletters and personal e-mails to keep things moving
forward once communication has been established. This, in
turn, leads to the next B2B Internet Marketing strategy:

3. Stay in Touch. Once you've connected with audience, you
won't want to leave them hanging. Regular eNewsletters
and/or e-mail training series (eCourses) are great ways to
provide value and stay in front of potential customers.
Again, you don't want to bombard your potential customers.
Instead, you will want to reach her at regular and
pre-defined intervals. Further, each e-mail should include
a short description of the topic and a case study or
scenario that brings it to life. Providing a brief
assessment or conclusion at the end of correspondence is
also helpful.

4. Collect Feedback. In order to measure the overall
success of your internet marketing strategies, you will
need to collect feedback from your visitors. This feedback
is invaluable in terms of helping you improve on your
product or service. Surveys and questionnaires are great
ways to collect this type of information. To improve
participation, you may want to offer some form of incentive
such as a free report or other valuable giveaway in
exchange for their time and opinions.

This last B2B Internet Marketing strategy is very important
because not only will it illustrate opportunities for
improvement - it will also highlight what you are already
doing right!

Are You In Need Of Specialty Printer Paper? Have You Looked Online?

When it comes to almost anything we are looking for or
need, I always suggest that people take a look online. When
comparing shopping on an online store versus an offline
store, you are always going to see an amazing jump in
prices. I'm talking a few hundred to a few thousand dollars
in savings. The great thing about shopping online is that
you still can find all the products and services you want.
And if it's good quality paper that you want, such as
printable paper, heavyweight paper, custom stock sheets and
custom paper size - it's all available online.

You know, some people can really get away with using low
quality paper because they are just printing up stuff once
in awhile and it's not anything important. However, for
those of you that use paper on a daily basis and you use it
for things like reports, presentations, graphs,
photography, or writing - you NEED quality paper that is
going to stand up to the test of time, and will also store
nicely as well. In these cases, you really need to look for
a store online that is going to offer specialty paper.

These specialty stores are going to have all kinds of
options that other stores won't have. When you're really
into paper you know that different sizes matter, and also
colors, materials, thicknesses, etc. This is going to
essentially be important to your company and what you are
using it for because chances are not everyone is going to
use the same kind of paper. If we all did use the same
kind, then stores like this wouldn't exist. But they do
exist! For example, for a presentation project for your
company, you might want to use something like heavyweight
paper made out of classic linen.

Whereas if you are a photographer that is printing out
photos or posters, you might need something like matte or
glossy paper finish. All of us have different needs, but
with a store like this that offers a little bit of
everything, you can find several different types of options
and paper that you will need. Plus, since it's a specialist
store, even if you need the same type of paper with
different dimensions or custom stock sheets, you can simply
do it at ONE store instead of shopping at one store for the
paper and getting it cut yourself - which by the way is
going to cost MORE money!

Instead, you could get everything you want, at one store,
and save money! After all, isn't that the basis of any
company or profession? High quality workability with low
cost overhead! Also, some of these stores online will also
offer samples to you as well. Sometimes you will have to
pay for the shipping and handling on these samples, and
sometimes they will just send them for free. I like this
option because I can physically touch, feel and see what
its like before I make my final decision if it's the
perfect paper for me or not! This is going to help with
that "oops" factor!

Do I need a drink Vending Machine in my business or facility?

Congratulations to you if you are thinking of implementing
a vending machine on your grounds! Vending machines can be
a lot of fun for the people that are using your facility or
working in your building/office. Keeping a vending machine
can also be fun and creative - mainly because you get to
pick and choose what products to put in these snack vending
machines and drink vending machines! If you see that
something is not working and people are not buying, it
could be because of the type of merchandise, or the
placement of the machine, because after all, I think
location is everything.

Too much foot traffic and no one is going to even notice
the snack vending machines and drink vending machines.

Too little and you probably won't get very many sales, plus
the products in the vending machines won't get used as
often which means loss of profit on "stale" food! Not good!
You want to make money, not burn it!

Here are a few suggestions as far as locations go when it
comes to these snack vending machines and drink vending
machines. By the way, you could also try placing more than
one machine as well - this will result in trying a few
different things at the same time and seeing what makes the
most money and is the most popular!

This part is simple, all you have to do is look for vending
machines suppliers online or find a business offline that
has vending machines for sale!

Inside hospitals or doctor offices. Thousands of people
pass through the doors of a hospital every single day -
most of which are hungry employees! This would be a
fantastic option for you to place a machine or two right by
the door or right by the waiting room. The door is a good
option because you will get people that are leaving, and
the waiting room, well, because people will be waiting!
Catch them where you can!

Grocery stores. Especially in warm locations! For the
grocery store option you really should consider drink
vending machines. Not only juice and soda, but water as
well. Just think of a really hot summer day, and seeing a
nice cold soda machine! Always gets them! Be sure to place
these on the outside of the store doors, so all those
thirsty people can stop by and get a drink or two!

Recreation Centers or Parks. Yet another place that's
usually full with hungry and or thirsty people. Parks are
especially good in the summer months because kids and
adults will often be playing sports and become dehydrated
and need something to drink! For this option choose
something like water or Gatorade. Most people won't drink
soda when they are playing sports and roughhousing because
they know it will only slow them down!

Factory or Industrial Buildings. I don't know about other
places, but where I'm from - these factories and industrial
building are filled to the brim with workers. A lot of
workers either stay around the factory or at least close
by, and most of them only take a 5 to 35 minute break. This
leaves ample time for your machines to draw them in! For
this option I would choose a soda option or coffee and a
food option - not candy, actual food!

Of course there are more places as well I'm sure. But as
far as what could be or would be the most popular I think
the above mentioned options could end up getting you a lot
of business all around. And remember, if something doesn't
work? Its okay! Just tweak the products and the machine
locations and see what works the best for you! Good luck in
placing vending machines in your business!

What Is MLS For Brooklyn Rentals And How Can It Help Me?

If you have moved before to either another city or another
state, you should know that classified ads and newspapers
are not the only way to go in order to find the best rental
for your needs. In fact, a lot of the times when you do
search in classifieds you still have to do all of the work
yourself - and sometimes it can be a little scary meeting
up with someone you have never met before and meeting them
at their apartment! There is a better way of going about
this with something called an MLS listing. This stands for
Multiple Listing Service.

This is actually NOT a system that renters or buyers can
use. This is a system that is specifically used for sellers
and Real Estate Agents. This is somewhat like that of a
search engine, but it doesn't include company feeds for
products. Instead, it integrates apartment and housing
listings for people such as yourself that want to find
Brooklyn apartments for rent or Brooklyn rentals. The
process for the agents is quite simple and it in turn will
take a lot of stress off of your end.

For the most part the way these multiple listing services
work, is that you would need to tell your realtor or Agent
specifically what property you are looking for (house,
condo, apartment), what specific locations (prospect park
apartments, etc) along with what amenities you are looking
for; number of rooms, square feet, if the location allows
pets, if they have garages available, parking spots,
swimming pool, or whatever else you are looking for.

Once you tell your agent the specifics, he or she will go
into the Multiple Listing Service and narrow down the
search results for you. Once they narrow it down to
anywhere from a few dozen to a handful of places, they will
then send you a URL and a log in for the site. This is
going to let you log into the site and visually view the
potential locations for your new home. You will be able to
view all of the various statistics and photos - which
definitely comes in handy.

If you find a place that interests you, simply email or
call the agent back and give them the property ID for the
location and they will set up an appointment for you to go
with them to that location. This is not only safer, but
quicker and easier as well. The point of this is to find
the supreme type of location you want, but to also allow
you to visually view the locations photos online - another
BIG time saver. This is all very convenient as well
considering you can pick and choose locations that you like
and don't like and note them to the Agent.

Plus, since it's online, it literally takes you a few
seconds to read through the listing, look at the photos and
make a decision on if it's something you would or wouldn't
be interested in. Frankly, most people are all about
location and looks. Most people base their decisions off of
photos alone so this is really nice when it comes to the
multiple listing service. And since they are doing all of
the work for you, this will give you not only a sense of
peace, but time to do more important things!

Some of the All-Time Best Paintball Rifles In The Industry!

When it comes to something like paintball, you really want
to make sure you get a premium gun or rifle that is going
to be durable, functional, affordable and quality made. I
can't imagine that a rifle used for a sport like this can
be made out of the same material as a squirt gun! If it was
it would probably get broken in about 2 seconds of you
waving it around and shooting it! Anyway, I won't say I'm a
pro because hey, I'm not! However, I do have a few
suggestions and recommendations as far as quality,
affordability and level of the user goes!

Tippmann Paintball Guns: These guns are surely the best
guns around. Not only are these guns everything you would
or could want in a paintball rifle, but they are also very
well-known which means they are going to keep up a definite
level of durability! Tippmann has established a reputation
for being very affordable, reliable and durable. Tippmann
is a pioneer in the paintball industry. They were the first
paintball gun manufacturer to produce a semi-automatic gun.

Most people say that these guns are great for beginners
because it's your overall fun gun - it has durability,
functionality, purpose, and it's darn affordable! On
several Tippmann Paintball Guns you can also get Mods or
customized options. This is going to allow you to buy a
whole package and you can then further the package with
upgrades such as; different triggers, grips and even paint
jobs. Pretty cool. It allows you to make it YOUR rifle not
just another mass produced product!

Piranha GTI: This is a specific gun rather than a specific
gun brand such as the Tippmann above. This is as basic as
paintball rifles get. Not a lot of bells and whistles, but
it is said to be very durable and inexpensive. This seems
like it would be an even better choice over the Tippmann
considering this one is REALLY basic. Even the maintenance
for this gun is basic, all you will ever need is a little
oil and the occasional O-ring, but other than that this is
nothing really fancy like the Tippmann paintball guns!

Spyder Xtra: Now this is a gun like the Tippman in that it
does have a lot of bells and whistles, plus its semi
automatic as well. This is going to give you a powerful
edge when it comes to other paintball rifles because almost
as soon as you pull the trigger, this guy is going to start
unloading! The Spyder brand in particular is a big
competitor against the Tippmann because they do offer a lot
of the same options and extras. Though most people will
tell you that this or that is the best, it's really going
to depend on YOU the user!

Out of all the paintball rifles available today, it really
IS going to be up to you as to which really is the best
rifle. However, you still can get ideas from other people.
But you really won't know which one is going to fit you and
your personality the best until you try a few out. One
thing you could do is go to an actual paintball store
offline to try a few guns, and then go back online and find
the one that you really liked - but at a much better price!
Try before you buy!

Positive, Assertive "Pushback" For Nurses

Nurse Sally Stevens, an R.N. with 17 years of nursing
experience, was caring for a new patient, a 46-year-old
female diabetic, who was suffering from tremors due to a
bout of Lithium toxicity. After an i.v. was started, the
patient, Miss Hawkins, developed some kidney complications,
prompting doctors to bring in a renal specialist. After
reviewing her charts, the specialist ordered an i.v.
containing dextrose.

Knowing that the dextrose could negatively affect her
patient's diabetic condition, Nurse Sally voiced her
concerns. In a non-aggressive tone, Nurse Sally said,
"Doctor, Miss Hawkins' blood sugar was 315 at 4pm. I
noticed that you've changed her i.v. fluids to Dextrose. Do
you want to change the i.v. fluids?"

Because of Nurse Sally's ability to communicate
effectively, Miss Hawkins received the best possible
medical care.

The real moral of the fictional account of Nurse Sally's
story is that you really can get your needs and wants met -
not through aggressive, in-your-face confrontations - but
via effective, positive and assertive communications.

A "positive pushback" is the ability to deliver an
appropriately assertive response to a potentially negative
and/or harmful situation. A positive pushback is executed
by looking someone straight in the eye, and saying with an
even, non-stressed tone what you want or need.

Practice Makes Positive

It's critical to sound confident when you are giving a
positive pushback. A positive pushback does not leave the
other person confused or unsure about your needs, wants,
desires or message! That said, a positive pushback is not
delivered with a choppy tone of voice, or an aggressive
posture or facial expression.

Example to Lose: "I wonder if we should double check the
lab work before...?" Example to Use: "I think we should
double check the lab work before..."

Samuel Maceri, DNSc RN, and chairperson of the commission
of workplace advocacy for the Tennessee Nurses Association
offered some tips on assertive nurse communications during
potential conflict situations: "When you call the physician
at two a.m. and you know they're tired, you can say 'I know
you're very concerned about Mrs. Johnson and I'm sure
you'll want to do something about this situation' - then
there's justification for disturbing their space and time.
It's important to first address the other person's needs
and goals."

Unfortunately, you can only conduct a positive pushback
when you have sufficient positive psychological capital,
which means that you are equipped with enough self-esteem,
self-confidence and self-efficacy to be able to handle
yourself in a conflict situation. You must continually
build this capital up, so it will be there when/if you need
it.

Positive Pushback Benefits - and Fears

One of the benefits of using a positive pushback is that
you have a good opportunity to produce the results you want
and need. Other benefits can include an immunization
against burnout (by helping you decrease your stress
level), and the building of self-esteem and
self-confidence. Also, it can help you build positive
relationships with others and empower you become a better
patient advocate.

So why don't people push back? Well, certainly fear is a
primary factor. Other factors can be prior negative
experiences (such as no one listened or listened poorly
previously), defense mechanisms (I can't be responsible),
as well as the active avoidance of a response. Plus, some
nurses are operating in a negative organizational culture,
and whatever psychological capital they once had
accumulated, may now be depleted.

"There's a power play in any relationship," Maceri notes,"
While a physician may have more experience, as a person the
physician is no more a human being than a nurse. A nurse
has the same level of human rights as anyone. It demeans
all of us when a nurse is unable to assertively and
professionally assert themselves in a responsible and firm
way."

You're Okay, I'm Not Okay: Submissive Communication

We can communicate more effectively with others when we
learn assertive, non-aggressive, communication techniques.
Perhaps the best way to understand assertive communication,
is to look at how it falls along a continuum of three
categories: 1.) submissive (non-assertive), 2.) aggressive,
and 3.) assertive behavior.

The first category is non-assertive, or submissive,
behavior. People who typically behave submissively
demonstrate a lack of respect for their own needs and
rights. Many submissive people do not express their honest
feelings, needs, values and concerns. They allow others to
violate their space, deny their rights and ignore their
needs. Rarely do they ever state their desires, even though
it may be all that was needed in order to have their needs
met.

Some people who exhibit submissive behavior express their
needs, but do it in such an apologetic and diffident manner
that they are not taken seriously. If you hear qualifying
phrases such as: "Oh, do whatever you want," or, "It really
doesn't matter to me," or, "I could be wrong but..." -
What, in fact, you are hearing is a form of "verbal
submission." Nonverbal submission can include a shrugging
of the shoulders, lack of eye contact, an excessively soft
voice, hesitating speech, etc.

The submissive person communicates: "I don't matter, you
can take advantage of me. My needs are insignificant- yours
are important. My feelings are irrelevant; yours matter. My
ideas are worthless; only yours are significant. I have no
rights, but of course you do." Because the submissive
person will often quash their own needs, very often this
leads to pent up frustration and anger.

ADVANTAGES of submissive communication:

1. Submission is a way of avoiding, postponing or hiding
conflict.

2. Submissive people carry a much smaller load of
responsibility. If things go wrong, rarely is the
submissive person to blame.

DISADVANTAGE of submissive communication:

1. Pent up frustration and anger.

2. No one knows what you want, so they can't give you what
you want.

Getting What You Want at the Expense of Others: Aggressive
Behavior

On the other end of the continuum is aggressive behavior-
commonly defined as behaviors that "move against" or "move
with the intent to hurt." An aggressive person expresses
their feelings, needs and ideas at the expense of others.
They almost always win in an argument, speak loudly and can
be abusive, rude and sarcastic. Normally, aggressive people
insist on having the final word and tend to berate,
dominate and try to overpower others. They can also be very
controlling. The aggressive person often feels that only
his or her point of view is important.

Nonverbal communication in an aggressive person can include
dominant eye contact (staring), pointing, fist banging, a
loud voice and an invasion of "personal space". They may
use terms like "always" and "never," as exaggerations are
common. Frequently, a lot of "you" language (such as "You
never do...") is used.

ADVANTAGES of aggressive communication:

1. They are likely to secure the material needs and objects
that they desire.

2. They tend to protect themselves and their own space.

3. They appear to retain considerable control over their
own lives and the lives of others.

DISADVANTAGES of aggressive communication:

1. Often, the aggressive person will suffer from fear.

2. The provocation of counter-aggressive behavior.

3. Loss of control, guilt and dehumanization.

I'm Okay and You're Okay Too: Assertive Communication

This method of communication allows both parties to
maintain self-respect, pursue happiness and satisfaction of
their needs, and defend their rights and personal space -
all without abusing or dominating other people. True
assertiveness is a way of confirming your own individual
worth and dignity. And simultaneously, the assertive person
confirms and maintains the worth of others.

Assertive individuals stand up for their own rights and
expresses their personal needs, values, concerns and ideas
in direct and appropriate ways. While meeting their own
needs, assertive people do not violate the needs of others
or trespass on their personal space. They use "I" language
("I am trying to...") as opposed to "you" ("You can never
seem to...) language, communicate with an open stance,
maintain eye contact, and use appropriate distance, head
nods and lean forward to listen attentively to the speaker.

ADVANTAGES of assertive communication:

1. Assertive people like themselves.

2. Assertion also fosters fulfilling relationships,
releases positive energy toward others, and greatly reduces
a person's fear and anxiety.

3. As assertion is result-oriented, your chances of getting
what you want and need are significantly increased.

DISADVANTAGES of assertive communication:

1. Often, assertion will cause disruptions in one's life.

In the end, the proper goal of positive pushback training
is to assist nurses in choosing communication strategies
and behaviors effectively, not to have nurses behave
assertively in every situation. Sometimes it may be wise
for you to give in to others, and conversely, it may be
necessary for you to aggressively defend your needs and/or
your patient's rights. However, for the most part, positive
pushback can be an effective, positive and successful means
of communication for nurses working in today's healthcare
environment.

The Best Gifts For Unique Photo Gifts Or Personalized Photos Gifts!

It's almost Christmas, soon to be Thanksgiving, and before
you know it's going to be someone's birthday or
anniversary. Do you have enough gift ideas to go around?
Well if you want to try something different out, you could
always give unique photo gifts and personalized photo gifts
a try! Not only are these gifts really ingenious, but they
are fun to customize and fun to receive. You can literally
choose from dozens upon dozens of gift items to place the
photos on. And the photos themselves can be of ANYthing
your heart desires.

Maybe you have a family photo you would like to use, or
maybe you found a really pretty photo online that you know
someone would enjoy! Either way for any occasion or any
holiday, these unique photo gifts and personalized photo
gifts are the way to go! You can choose from all kinds of
products such as:

1- Hats, clothes and apparel

2- Mouse pads

3- Coasters, mats, and magnets

4- Calendars, photo books, journals and holiday cards

5- Photo Cards, invitations and stickers

And much more!

You can use these for any occasion as well - have it be
Christmas, Easter, Valentines Day, Birthdays, New Babies,
Graduations, and everything else in between. A lot of these
sites online will let you do one of two things. You can
either add JUST a photo to these unique photo gifts or you
can add a photo and text. Frankly, I like the photo and
text option because who wants just a picture of something
on their item? You can do funny gifts, serious gifts, love
story gifts, thank you gifts and whatever you can think of!

Prices are pretty awesome too. Most sites I have been to
online offer the starting price at around $10 on up to $40
depending on what product you pick to place the photo on,
how much text you want, where you are shipping the item it
to, etc.

Overall these might seem like cutesy little gifts, but I
can tell you from personal experience that all kinds of
people enjoy them! My dad for instance, is really into
cars, so for his birthday I got him a coffee mug with the
words "Happy Birthday Dad!" with this car we took a picture
of at an auto show that he was absolutely drooling over!
Even now, 2 years later, he uses that coffee cup almost
every single morning and he still loves it to this day!
Another person I got into these unique photo gifts was my
sister.

Our grandparents recently moved away and my sister JUST had
a newborn baby. We thought it would be a really sweet gift,
to put the baby's picture on a calendar so they could see
the baby every day whenever they wanted - they loved this
gift. Not only did they find it to be useful because it was
a calendar, but they also liked it because they could walk
past it and see my sister's baby whenever they wanted to!
If I can make someone such as my family happy, YOU can make
someone in your family or your friends happy and excited to
get something like this as well!

Are You An Adult That Needs Braces? Have You Considered Invisalign?

It used to be that we didn't have a choice when it came to
braces. Well maybe a choice in the rubber bands, but as far
as the "metal mouth" went we really couldn't choose to make
it look less obvious. But lately they have come out with
something that's called Invisalign. I'm assuming most
people know what this is because it has been out for a few
years, but just in case some people don't - the name says
it all. These are essentially "invisible" braces.

You can't actually tell if a person is wearing these or not
unless you get really close and even then it's iffy! This
is a terrific choice for adults that want to get their
teeth fixed and straightened out, but they really don't
want to deal with the original look of braces and nowadays
you see a lot more people wearing the Invisalign rather
than the metal brace options. I guess it also depends on
you as well.

Regular braces are rather painful at the beginning, plus
you can also expect things like not being able to eat
certain foods, and experience gums bleeding for a few days
until they get used to the wires and sensitivity. However
painful, braces also are going to stay on for a specific
amount of time. Usually anywhere from 5 weeks on up to a
few years.

Whereas the Invisalign is supposed to be less painful to
wear and "put on", but you also have to take them off every
2 weeks. So in the end it's probably going to depend on you
and what you and your doctor discuss together. One thing
you can do or rather should do is find a local Brooklyn
Orthodontist. Once you find an NYC braces orthodontist you
will be able to make an appointment with the doctor, which
is going to allow you to discuss the different treatments,
how they work, what's going to be the best for you,
different pricing options, etc.

I also think it's an important step to physically visit
different doctors as well because this is going to give you
a chance to get to know them and help you make the decision
if this would be the right person for you. Sounds a little
odd, but I have a deathly fear of dentists. I hate them!
However, I now have a doctor who is a very nice guy, very
gentle with me, and he explains everything before he does
it - and for me this is why he is a perfect fit for me and
my teeth.

In the past I have had non-talkative doctors or ones that
were rough with my teeth and it just made me not want to go
anymore! Hence, where the deathly fear came from! So it's
important to not only look online and see who is available
and see what other people say, but it's also important to
have a first visit with the doctor and see if you have a
good professional chemistry with each other. This is going
to be a person that is going to be working on your teeth
for a long time coming - you want to make sure it's someone
you feel comfortable with!

Feeling The Economic Pressure? Have You Tried Cash For Gold?

With the way the economy is right now, we all are on the
lookout for a new, interesting and lucrative way to make
some extra moolah... even if it's just something on the
side! One of the things you might be willing to consider is
something called cash for gold. This can actually be quite
lucrative and in turn become quite residual, but as with
all programs and businesses online you really need to check
sites out beforehand - this way you can almost guarantee
you won't get cheated for something like this. Following a
few guidelines is going to inherently help you work with a
real company rather than a scammer. Let's check out some of
these useful tips when it comes to cash for gold, sell gold
online or even sell jewelry NY!

Legitimacy: Of course you can't just look at a company and
say honest or scam, you will have to do some leg work to
find out if they really are legit or not. One of the few
things you might want to consider is actually doing a
little bit of your own investigating! You could either try
to call the number on their site to see if a real person
answers or even if it is a real number! You can also visit
the store if it's a local option like sell jewelry NY
companies and it has a physical address. It's important to
make sure the company actually exists and it's not a fake
address!

Ask questions: I know this seems like common sense, but it
doesn't dawn on certain people that it's important to ask
questions before joining up with any problem online. Even
if you feel like a pest - if you are investing anything,
jewelry, time, money - you have GOT to ask questions. Talk
to the person over the phone or email, ask all the
questions you might have. Make sure you also read the about
us, FAQ sections and any other content sections they might
have such as blogs and or article sections

Company's efforts, proves a lot: If it's a really legit
company, you want to make sure that they offer prepaid and
insured envelopes. You shouldn't be paying for this stuff
yourself, especially if it's a legit business. Surely they
can spend a few bucks to send you the envelope if they
really are legit and really are becoming successful in this
type of a business! If they can't afford a prepaid
envelope, chances are it's a scam.

Make sure there is a guarantee: Most legit sites will have
a guarantee of some sort when it comes to sell gold online
or cash for gold ops. A guarantee is going to keep YOU safe
so that if you aren't happy with the service or you want
your gold back because you don't like the offer - you
should be able to get your jewelry back.

See what other people say: If you really want to see how
other people feel about the specific site you are taking a
look at - it's a really good idea to look online at sites
such as forums, blogs, articles, etc. Don't always trust
testimonials ON a site. Do you know how easy it would be
for me to log in to my cpanel, jot down a fake name with a
fake comment and enter it in as a real person? Too easy! If
its screen shots that's a different thing altogether. For
the most part though you will want to physically leave the
site, go to google, type in the name of the business and
see what you get!

These are very basic rules of engagement when it comes to
sell jewelry online companies or cash for gold companies,
but it can also be used for other reasons as well. Right
now there are billions upon billions of people online every
single day. It's no wonder that some of these people (who
are in the REAL world) are going to be tasteless,
disrespectful or scammer type people. That's just the world
we live in. On the other hand, a lot of people and
businesses are legit and are really professional and nice.
You just can't always tell the sheep from the wolf because
it's the Internet. However, you can utilize the
above-mentioned guidelines to help enable a lesser chance
of getting scammed by a person or company, so make sure you
use them to your advantage and start making money for your
unused gold and jewelry!

Do You Need To Find Customizable Polypropylene Bags For Your Business?

If you have ever shopped for polypropylene bags, clear poly
bags or poly bag packaging you know that these types of
bags are some of the most durable types of bags that you
can buy with your money. They are also some of the more
expensive bags as well! Good reason behind this considering
what you could haul in these bags - no tear, no wear!

Your customers will be able to carry everything home
without fearing the bottom of the bag to break on them. And
don't you like your customers to be happy and relay on you
with their eyes closed? I bet you do! But still, the main
thing you want to consider when buying here is product
price. Can you afford to spend thousands of dollars on
these bags every month?

If you want these bags, but they are way too expensive for
your budget, you should really consider getting them at a
wholesale retailer online. Personally I've seen great
prices for clear poly bags when I went wholesale. Just the
same, once you find a site that offers wholesale prices,
you are going to be seeing a huge markdown on prices per
pack and bulk.

The best thing about these clear poly bags is that they
even function as marketing tactic, and actually make your
customers become walking billboards. These polypropylene
bags, clear poly bags or poly bag packaging can also be
customized as well. This is going to allow you to pick the
size and colors, but you will also be able to choose to
place your logo and or slogan on the bag as well. This is
really going to make your business as brand-able as it can
be, which is going to result in ultimately "advertising"
your business wherever this bag is going to travel. And you
know that everything is measured by branding in the market.
If you have a strong brand going, you can probably
anticipate success.

Plus, having your bags branded will make you look more
professional as well! It means that you care about your
presentation. Just like you wear a suite in the morning,
you should also make sure that your brand gets the respect
it deserves and your bags should proudly wear your logo!

Obviously you can also make these bags "yours" when you add
the logo. They will no longer be bags you just bought at a
store, they will be YOUR bags. It does not really matter
what kind of business you have - you could ultimately use
these kinds of bags for just about anything you want. But

A Wide Variety of EMS Gear And EMT Supplies To Make Your Life Easier!

When it comes to different jobs there are obviously going
to require different kinds of equipment and supplies you
are going to have to use and buy. For EMS professionals and
EMT professionals in comes products and supplies like
vests, accessories, flashlights, medical kits, bags and so
on. Obviously some of this stuff you can purchase using the
facilities money where you work or some will automatically
be given to you because it's a part of the job. But other
products like flashlights, watches, boots, jackets, pants
would be products you would have to buy on your own with
your own money. In cases like this, I know that we
oftentimes wish there was a cheaper way around it.

We know we can't buy less quality items because they really
have to stand up to the test of time, but we also can't
afford to spend hundreds of dollars every time we need a
new supply product. One of the things you could do, and
it's what most medical professionals do, is to look online.
There you will be able to find the same high quality
products you love, but at an actual price you can be happy
with. Products such as:

Outerwear: These are going to be items like vests, jackets,
winterized boots, gloves, etc. Again, all of these items
are available to you for a reason! Outerwear offers
functionality you can definitely get used to. Everything
from licensed and official pants and boots to clothing
items like jackets and vests that offer ample room for all
your mini supplies. Jackets and vests are also made so that
they are waterproof, tear proof and insulated!

Gear Bags: Something as important as this is going to need
to be functional and dependable. You should go for a
flexible bag that can serve all of your needs from travel
to on site situations. These bags are great for anyone in
the health professionals as well as law enforcement agents,
special ops, fire rescue, etc. These types of bags are all
about handling your gear and keeping it safely intact!

Flashlights: These are definitely more of a personal
option, but they can also be called for on jobs when it's
dark, to wave someone down, or even as a weapon -- if need
be! For the most part you will want an affordable yet very
rugged set of standards for your flashlight. A little
plastic yellow light you find in most homes just won't do!
You need something that has long battery time, different
types of illumination, etc. Options are a must in my
opinion! Pick a light that feels good in your hands, easy
to use, and one that is lightweight. Popular brands that
come to mind could be considered more "tactical" especially
the recommended Streamlight.

Multi-purpose Tools: It seems like these tools always come
in handy when you least expect it! One of the most popular
brands for a multi purpose tool is obviously going to be
Leatherman - good prices, great options, and a lot of
variety to choose from! You always need to have a set of
wire cutters, screwdrivers, pliers, knives, lanyard
attachments, scissors and they better be in one convenient
deice. Definitely a personal item, but it can also come
into use!

Of course there are other mentions as well such as shirts,
watches, eye wear and helmets, but the above-mentioned are
some of the more popular products when it comes to EMS
gear, EMT supplies and emergency medicine supplies as far
as person products go.

You are going to find some really great prices, but you
will have to look around a bit. I would certainly suggest
finding a website that ONLY sells EMS gear, EMT supplies
and emergency medical supplies because you will probably
have a better chance finding what you need at a store like
this rather than a store that sells a little bit of
everything.

I Own A Retail Store - What Can I Use Showcase Displays For?

I'll be honest, I have never owned a real store offline.
However, I have worked in many stores where they have used,
bought and sold these retail displays. Quite honestly,
anyone can utilize these for their own store. A few years
back I was a Catering Chef for a restaurant I worked at,
and they used display cases for the quiches and other baked
goods that I would make. This just makes for an extra yummy
display because it can let people visually see what is
available as soon as they walk in.

It's almost the same way with a bakery that uses the glass
showcase for desserts, cakes, cookies, pies. You know it
whets your appetite and makes you want to buy and eat
everything in that showcase! Don't lie! Stimulate people's
wants and needs with some really delicious products (not
just food) and you can sell them almost anything. Let's
take a look at a few other ideas for store displays besides
food!

Jewelry Showcase: This is a showcase that is made primarily
out of glass. It's going to include various materials
depending on what you want such as different kinds of
metals and woods. You can also choose from various sizes
and shapes as well as how many display shelves you want.
For example, if you have a bunch of beautiful diamond rings
you would like to showcase, you could consider going with
something like a silver plated, one shelf display. This way
you don't have layers and everyone can visually see what
you offer.

Retail Clothing Store Displays: These are great for
clothing items such as shirts and pants. These are not like
the usual clothing racks you are used to - there are
streamline showcases that allows maximum visibility and
minimum space used. You can virtually use any number of
showcases that you want. You can also utilize them for
streamline showcases, which is going to place everything in
a very neat row or column.

Produce & Flower Cart For Grocer: I don't know why it is
when people think of store displays they only think of
inedible items. As a grocer or florist, a wooden flower
cart or fruit/vegetable showcase would be a superb option
to make sales. These come in custom sizes, designs, color
and shapes depending on you. They also come in various
woods as well such as birch wood (finished and unfinished).
It just seems like yet again a really nice option to show
people what you have available.

Most of these are going to be really sturdy store displays,
but make sure you use common sense too! You can't place a
fifty pound surround speaker system on a little glass
showcase display! Just go online and find a reliable
manufacturer for your retail store if you sell, electronic
items, garage tools, books, camera supplies like film and
memory cards, hardware, even newspapers would do well with
these showcases!

Privacy Expert Corporate Top 5 Tips To Prevent An Online Business Security
Privacy Breach

With Identity fraud in the UK soon to cost the economy over
£2 billion, Identity fraud theft is now described as
one of the UK's newest most fashionable crimes.

Just about every privacy expert corporate and security
expert are concerned that this figure is just the tip of
the iceberg.

Privacy experts state business cheats are breaching
business security systems with new business scams & old
internet business scams redesigned for business fraud.

Given that organised criminals and terrorist organisations
are also feeling the pinch during the current economic
downturn protecting your personal and business privacy
should be pushed up to the top of your business security
action plan.

These criminals have shifted their focus away from
targeting everyday individuals and are now placing their
primary focus on targeting business owners and company
directors for identity fraud theft.

Most privacy experts admit that contemporary business
cheats and their business scams have become such high tech
that sales of identity fraud insurance and business
security services have rocketed in an attempt to combat
internet business scams and business fraud.

Some business companies are so concerned by this increase
in business fraud that they are retaining the professional
services of a security expert to work alongside their
in-house privacy expert corporate investigator.

Privacy Expert Corporate Top 5 Tips To Prevent An Online
Business Security Privacy Breach # 1 Protect Your Privacy

Privacy experts agree that in order to commit identity
fraud theft business cheats have to gain some kind of
access to your private data or documentation.

They generally achieve this by either breaking into your
home or office, or by paying someone on the inside to steal
the information for them. They may target your trash cans
which are frequently left out overnight or all day for
collection.

As a working security expert I have witnessed an increase
business scams particularly internet business scams
specifically designed for business fraud. Protect your
privacy should feature near the top of your business
security plan list just below strengthening your access
control systems.

Every security expert advises business clients to purchase
identity fraud insurance.

Privacy Expert Corporate Top 5 Tips To Prevent An Online
Business Security Privacy Breach # 2 Limit Exposure Of
Private Information

Good access control systems prevent a high percentage of
business security breaches. Especially in the case of
internet business scams which lead to business fraud and
identity fraud theft.

Sadly business cheats are aware of this and many of their
business scams are based on the premise of tapping into
business owner's personal greed.

Privacy experts are also conscious that organised criminals
also add a tale a personal hardship linked to someone
listed in their internet business scams.

Every professional security expert understands this is just
a ploy to get business owners to drop their guard and
expose their private information. Although identity fraud
insurance is of great benefit it should not be used in the
place of common sense.

If someone you have never met or someone you don't know
contacts you or your business offering you £6,000,000M
if you just provide them with your private information then
it's a scam.

It doesn't matter how sweet the deal appears or how easy it
seems or how dreadful the life of the person offering you
the fortune appears, it's just one of many business scams.

Protect Your Privacy Online. Everything in security begins
with the basics, so before you provide your e-mail address
and any private data or personal information to anyone on
line you need to ensure the privacy of your information
will be security protected.

Wherever possible seek to minimise your security risk by
not providing your personal details like your National
Insurance number or your date of birth and your mother's
maiden name or the town of your birth as these offer online
fraudsters easy access to steal your identity.

Privacy Expert Corporate Top 5 Tips To Prevent An Online
Business Security Privacy Breach # 3 Identify If Your
Online Privacy Is Being Protected

Every security expert suggests to minimise the risk of
identity fraud theft you should always identify if your
online privacy is being protected before you pass over any
personal privacy information to any online e-commerce web
site or e-mail sender.

One of the first steps to take before purchasing anything
online is to check the validity of the web sites privacy
policy. A valid privacy policy should describe how your
personal information will and will not be used. It should
also state whether your information will be passed on or
sold to other organisations.

Privacy experts suggest you should never agree to sign up
for promotional offers from other companies directly or
indirectly related to the web site you are purchasing from.
This is often an easy access for business cheats running
business scams, internet business scams and business fraud.

Identity fraud insurance companies would expect you to
telephone the web site business owners if their privacy
policy is not accessible on their web site or it is out of
date.

Privacy Expert Corporate Top 5 Tips To Prevent An Online
Business Security Privacy Breach # 4 Online Purchasing

Privacy experts suggest another method for minimising the
risk of identity fraud theft is for you to seek evidence
that your personal information is being encrypted to
prevent business cheats perpetrating business fraud
against you.

If it is not encrypted then every professional security
expert knows that professional hackers will access your
data and you will be targeted for identity fraud theft,
business scams and all manner of internet business scams.

If you purchase frequently online then you should seriously
consider purchasing identity fraud insurance. Wherever
possible try not to provide your credit card information
online.

Most reputable e-commerce web sites offer an office
telephone number to provide your credit card information.

Although every security expert will advise you there is no
such concept as 100% security this method does minimise the
risk of online hackers and fraudsters hijacking this
sensitive security information during your purchase
submission stage.

Another security countermeasure which can also minimise the
risk of a security breach is to consider using one specific
credit card for all your online purchases only. Maintain a
limited amount of finance charges on this account. If a
hacker or fraudster does access this account then your
security risk will be minimised.

To further minimise the risk of identity fraud
theft, business fraud and internet business scams you should
only ever purchase goods and services online with a credit
card and not a debit card.

A credit card offers some level of claw back protection in
the event of business cheats fraudulently targeting you. A
debit card offers no suck protection and your money is
generally taken out of your account straight away.

In relation to business scams involving debit card payments
every security expert knows that any fraudster who obtains
your personal and/or private information can drain your
bank account before you know anything about it.

It is worthwhile checking with your insurance company to
ascertain if your identity fraud insurance covers your
debit card fraud and theft.

Privacy Expert Corporate Top 5 Tips To Prevent An Online
Business Security Privacy Breach # 5 Take Extra Steps To
Protect Your Privacy

You need to be security conscious and vigilant every time
you purchase anything online or offline. An organised crime
gang, terrorist organisation or business cheats only need
to get lucky once in identifying your personal and private
information.

Once again privacy experts agree that you should seek to
minimise your security risk wherever possible. A
professional security expert will advise you to take as
many extra steps to protect you privacy as possible.

Never be fooled into thinking that victims of identity
fraud theft, business scams, internet business scams or
business fraud are people of low intelligence and zero
street smarts because they are not.

You may be surprised to know that many victims of these
types of crimes are highly intelligent savvy business
owners who simply let their guard down momentarily. Once
that happens it's often game over as the fraudsters do what
they do best.

This is one of the reasons why many privacy experts
recommend identity fraud insurance for all business owners.

Always step back and use your common sense. Try to conduct
your business trade with reputable online businesses. Ask
yourself if you feel comfortable with this business? Do you
trust them? Are they a well known established business
entity? Are they recognised as being a credible business?

Finally, trust your gut reaction,if something doesn't quite
feel right then guess what there's probably something wrong.

4 Secret Strategies of a Successful Joint Venture

Entrepreneurs are known for being creative. They have a
knack for observing a particular market or niche and
developing a product or service that fits that niche.
Clever entrepreneurs are also clever marketers. And one
great way to expand your market and increase profits is by
forming a joint venture.

But should an entrepreneur or small business owner form a
JV simply because they can? Not always. A successful joint
venture requires careful planning and consideration. It may
even require special research or resources for producing
and packaging a successful joint product.

A JV should be approached with the same respect as any
other business strategy. There are four important strategic
points that any entrepreneur or business owner should
consider before partnering up.

1. Set Your Own Clear Goals

Though a JV does require joint strategies between two
people, your own goals are important for it's ultimate
success. What do you want to accomplish? Do you want more
profits? Expanded markets? More credibility and better
reputation from an association with a prominent joint
venture partner? Make sure you know what you want before
you agree sign on with a new partner.

2. Find a Complementary Partner

Knowing what you want from the joint venture will help you
find a complementary partner. Keep in mind that a JV
doesn't have to be between two similar sized businesses in
the same industry. You may be a small business owner and
form a successful partnership with a larger corporation, as
long as you have complementary goals. And don't think
because you offer a service, say, financial advisement,
that you could not form a creative and successful
arrangement with another business owner who manufactures
fishing tackle. Having a win-win strategy, regardless of
the industry or business size, is the most important thing
to keep in mind when looking for a potential JV partner.

3. Carefully Plan The JV

The success of your JV depends upon the careful planning
that you and your partner perform in the very beginning.
You will need to negotiate your plan together to reach a
mutually beneficial agreement. You and your new partner
will need to agree upon a legal business type for your
venture, as well as the overall JV goals and the tactics
you will need to reach those goals.

4. Nurture the JV Relationship

Remember that a JV is not just a business venture; it's
also a relationship. You'll want to continually nurture the
relationship with effective communication and cooperation.
And don't forget to reward yourselves for achieving goals.
A good JV relationship will make the road much easier to
travel, and keep the venture going for a long and
successful run.

Discover your potential joint venture. Get your personal
business goals in place and find a good partner with whom
you can work well. Keep these strategies in mind before you
form your JV, and you'll have a much easier time getting a
successful JV assembled.

How Confident Are You?
Copyright (c) 2009 Paula Gregorowicz

Go ahead, there's no wind-up necessary, you can simply
answer the question for yourself:

"How confident do you feel?"

What happens in your body as you answer this? Do you feel
some butterflies in your stomach or does your heart skip a
few beats? Experience a little hesitancy in your voice?
Perhaps you aren't sure how to answer because you feel
totally confident in one area of your life or business but
riddled with doubt in another?

If so, you're not alone. Most people have some sort of
visceral reaction to it. Why? Most people fear
acknowledging their brilliance and shining their light. In
practical terms that means being fully confident in who you
are. We all play lots of roles in our lives, but it is
confidence at the core, that feeling of being comfortable
in our own skin that separates those who thrive from those
who spend their lives struggling to create the results they
most want to experience.

What are you currently not doing that you would do if only
you had more confidence? Would you:

* Be a more powerful networker?

* Fire a less than ideal client?

* Ask for a raise from your employer or increase your fees?

* Confidently say no?

* Change careers?

* End a relationship that has run its course?

The list can go on, but I am here to tell you that almost
every decision you want or need to make in your life and
business comes down not to getting more information, but
stepping into a level of certainty and self-assurance
within YOU. This truth is even truer in situations or
times that feel the most uncertain. For many, today's
times, today's economy is those very times. There is a
reason you are experiencing what you are experiencing right
now. There is a reason you are reading this article. What
is wanting to emerge?

Does the answer frighten you? It is perfectly normal. It
is OK. I am confident you have all you need within you to
birth your best life and business (or up-level the one you
already have). It just needs to step forward. It can only
do that from the rooted and rich soil of confidence. While
confidence ultimately comes from within, for almost all of
us (me included) it takes cultivation and support from
others who can inspire and guide us to new levels of
confidence in who we are and what we do.

Yellow Pages Advertising: Crushing Your Competitors

I constantly hear from small business owners that their
Yellow Pages advertising does not work. That they are
wasting their money.

Nothing could be further from the truth. When people search
the Yellow Pages...they are ready to buy. This is unlike
most advertising when you're attempting to interrupt people
going about their normal daily routines. This time they are
actively looking for some business like yours.

Where most people go wrong when they advertise in the
Yellow Pages is that they make the mistake of 'Me-Too'
advertising... they copy what all their competitors are
doing. Unfortunately, most of them are doing it completely
wrong.

How often do you see a yellow pages advert with the
business name and their logo taking up all the prime real
estate at the top of the ad. People don't care about you,
your name or your logo.

People [where advertising is concerned] are only interested
in what you can do for them:

>How can you improve their lives? >How can you make their
lives easier? >What can you do faster? Better?

Yellow Pages ads have only one goal... to get the people
reading the ad to take action now.

In Order to achieve this you must:

>get their attention >differentiate yourself from your
competitors >make them an offer

Here's how you can do this successfully in your Yellow
Pages adverts.

1. Research

See what your competitors are doing:

>the ad size and colour >the categories they pick >what
catches your eye? >Speak to family and friends

2. Yellow Pages ad Design

>Must be bigger than your competitors >use colour if they
are not and vice versa >use a border >good quality pictures
>relevant pictures with a caption

3. Have a headline

>make it big and bold >must grab attention >have a big
benefit [what your product or service will do for them] >a
big promise >a special offer

4. Talk about Benefits not Features

>how you'll make their life better >use bullet points to
save space

5. Make them an offer

>Give them a reason to act now >discount >special offer
>bonuses >free gift >free quote when they telephone >free
special report

6. Have a guarantee

>price >or guarantee performance >guarantee speed of
delivery >guarantee quality >or guarantee all four!

7. Have a call to action

>Get them to call a special number for a free quote >go to
your website for a special offer >bring in a coupon to your
store today >post a coupon in the mail

8. Contact information

>24-hour voice mail telephone hotline for free quote or
consultation >website address >map directions to your store
physical address >e-mail address

9. Test

>test 3 potential new yellow pages ads in your local paper
>see which pulls the best results >use it to advertise in
the yellow pages

10. Extras

>Tell them you take credit cards[ you do don't you!] >Tell
them they can contact your voicemail and website 24 hours a
day

When you follow these steps you will notice any profound
difference in your results. You'll stand out from your
competitors. Your offer and guarantee will make people take
action.

Most importantly you will attract more new customers and
profit with your yellow pages advertising.

Auction Fundraiser Tips: Four Investments for your Benefit Auction
Copyright (c) 2009 Red Apple Auctions LLC

Whether you are a volunteer Gala Chair or a paid Special
Events Manager, you want your event to be a success. Let's
look at some investments which will make your job easier
and make you look good!

1. Invest your time upfront in placing volunteers into
appropriate roles where they can shine.

Not all auction volunteers are created equal. To ensure
fewer headaches for you later, make an effort early in the
process to get to know your volunteers and committee
members. Find out their interests and strengths.

Two years ago my friend launched the first-ever Reading
Festival in her Kansas hometown with the help of her
Altrusa Club members. As a former human resources manager,
interviewing club members for the right volunteer role came
easily to her. Sometimes the "interview" was a simple
conversation over coffee. That often provided my friend
with enough information to determine if her fellow Club
member was a good fit to lead a particular committee. You
could do the same.

The other advantage of interviews is that you begin to
establish a relationship. Developing an individual
connection early-on will help your working relationship
down the road.

2. Focus on making high-impact decisions.

Once you've invested the time to place people in proper
jobs, let them do their job and keep out of the way. They
have their goals and/or budget from you, they have been
tasked with their work, so that means you should be focused
on making big-picture decisions.

In other words, don't worry about the color of the napkins.
Focus on the whatever will make your event a "success" in
the eyes of your organization. Is it hitting a specific
financial target? Is it providing a touching ceremony for
the 25th anniversary (and the fundraising portion is
secondary)? Keep your attention on the big goal.

3. Invest in the best vendors you can afford.

Whether you are selecting a production company, a caterer,
or a benefit auctioneer, you will never second-guess
yourself if you hire the best you can afford (and you might
be able to afford more than you think). Save yourself from
headaches by investing for success.

When I was in high school, Skaggs Alpha Beta (since bought
out by Jewel-Osco, then Albertson's) opened a grocery store
in a nearby town. My cost-conscious Mom asked the bakery
department manager where the "day old" baked goods were
marked down and sold.

The Manager told my Mom that Skaggs didn't sell any day-old
cakes. Cakes that weren't sold were thrown out with the
garbage.

"WHAT?" my Mom was horrified, "PERFECTLY GOOD CAKES ARE
BEING THROWN AWAY?!"

The Manager told my Mom, "People never remember the deal
they got on the cake. They remember that the cake tasted
stale. We only sell fresh cakes."

Interesting point.

If the sound system doesn't work at your event, or if your
auctioneer doesn't handle the appeal correctly, is your
auction committee going to remember the *deal* they got, or
will they remember the mistakes that were made?

4. Make a decision from your heart, gut feeling, intuition,
or whatever you call it.

I recently purchased a pricey training package. When I
enrolled in the class, I didn't know how I would pay for
it. Even after 24 hours, I was still wondering how those
monthly payments were going to work into my budget.

That said, I was never in a panic and certainly didn't
experience buyer's remorse. In contrast, I felt excited! I
felt in my heart that when I stepped up to accept that
program, that investment in myself would pay off. I'd
rather temporarily live in a "I wonder how this is going to
work out" mode than permanently live in a "I wonder what
would have happened if...." mode.

Something felt right, and I acted on my feeling.

I encourage you to do the same as you work on your
day-to-day tasks. Make the phone call to a potential donor
when you are excited to do so; not when you are dreading
the talk. Send an email when you are inspired; not when you
would rather go to bed.

Not every action will give you a positive or negative urge,
but some of those bigger decisions ... the larger "risks"
in your mind ... will push your buttons one way or another.

Remember, auctions are supposed to be fun! Go with the flow
of your own impulses, and you'll more enjoy the ride. It's
not always easy, but we all get better with practice.

The Giveaway Of The Day Is The Specialty Of The Century!

With the way the economy is lately, it seems like just
about everyone is looking for daily deals. With a site that
offers daily deals you can easily, efficiently and safely
find the products you really want, but it is also going to
allow you to find a few bargains as well! Christmas is
coming up in just a few weeks. You probably have a list of
five or more people that you need to buy something for, and
if they are children 13 or older, your list is most-likely
going to include a lot of electronic, technological or
gadget type products.

While electronics and technology has become increasingly
impressive, the price tag doesn't always make you feel the
same! Most kids nowadays are looking for cell phones,
laptops, MP3 player, guitars, gaming consoles and cameras.
These products are usually going to start at around $20 for
the cheapest (and less functional) MP3 player and go on up
to a few hundred dollars for the newest gaming console such
as the PS3. How can we actually be expected to pay this?
Well, we shouldn't!

And realistically while it may seem like your only choice,
it's not. You CAN get all of the above mentioned products
and so much more for a price that you can really afford and
purchase - and daily deals are THE way to go! A daily deal
or giveaway of the day is going to allow you to find some
of the most popular products that you can find in retail
stores right now, but without the hefty price tag attached
to it. You could save anywhere from a few dollars on up to
a few hundred dollars depending on what product the site is
from, what type of product it is, and how new it is.

Newness is always a huge factor. It's not always fair, but
at least now you can work around it fairly well. With an
option like one deal a day you could end up buying a
product for every kid on your list and still end up saving
a lot of money - plus, since its online purchasing, you
will also be saving a lot of time and it's a whole lot less
stressful. No crowds, no getting in your car and waiting on
traffic lights, no wasting gas money or looking for parking
spots. Just plain old efficiency and convenience.

Now when you add in the price differentials this is
definitely something to get excited about! The only
negative drawback on a daily deals option is that chances
are the daily deal given THAT day probably won't last for
long. For instance, if you take a look at a daily deal for
an Xbox 360 that has a deal of $150 rather than $350, this
deal might only last until the end of the day or the end of
the week.

It's a good idea to check dates on these daily deals and
make sure they are still going to be deliverable at the
price shown when you go to actually purchase the product
online! Nothing stinks more than getting your heart or
someone else's heart set on a gift only to have to take the
promise back!

The Reasons Why Marketing Plans Fail

One of the most frustrating aspects to business is when you
have all the marketing tools your business needs, perhaps
even some your business does not need and yet you still see
no results. You may even be spending time and effort
marketing your business and yet conversion ratios and
traffic remain constant or even drop. The reasons why
marketing plans fail are numerous however; one of the
primary reasons is that it was not the right marketing plan.

Every business is different and that includes businesses
that sell the same products and services. Every business
has something that is unique, the group of people they are
targeting, the area they are working in, the options they
have available to them. These different aspects mean that
the same marketing plan is not going to work on every
business.

When a marketing plan fails, it is important to find out
exactly why it failed first. The reason or reasons are is
essential. It may be that there is only one aspect of a
marketing plan that failed, it may be multiple items or it
may be the entire plan.

Research

Research is an essential aspect of marketing and inadequate
research is one of the biggest pitfalls that can affect a
marketing plan. Research provides a wealth of information
that is vital to the success of a marketing plan.
Generally, research is done on the target market. If a
target market is not known, research is done to determine
what market is going to be the most likely to benefit from
the product or service provided by your business.

This is the group of individuals you will want to target
and in some areas there may be multiple groups. While it
may be possible to market to all these groups it is, in
most situations better to market to a single group or
groups which contain a large percentage of similar traits.
This makes it easier to consolidate a marketing plan as
well as eliminates a significant amount of research, time
and effort.

The second aspect which needs to be researched for a
marketing plan to be successful and is also one of the
reasons why marketing fails to produce appropriate results
involves research competition. Researching competition is
not just about researching the prices of a competitor. It
includes noting things such as lay out, finding out what
marketing techniques the competitor is using and how often
these tools are used for example.

Many business owners and beginning internet marketers fail
to note anything more than price and perhaps general
layout. As a result, they are missing vital information
that can save time, money and effort when it comes to
setting up their own marketing plans. It is also important
to keep in mind that you want your business to be unique
from your competition.

Get a good idea of the types of deals, offers, discounts
and promotions that your competition uses and offer
something different to help your business stand out. Many
people simply do what their competition does. In doing so,
they often lower their marketability and their marketing
plan can ultimately fail in this area.

Marketing Tools

Having enough research to create your marketing plan is
only the first step in solving the problems that often
cause marketing plans to fail. The next step is to take the
time to pick out the right tools. Having the right tools
for the job is essential to ensuring you get the most out
of your marketing strategies.

Marketing tools have diversified over the years. Tools are
not limited strictly to email and promotional options.
Video, social networking, SMS texting, in addition to email
and promotional marketing tools are also available. The
increase in available options means that there is a greater
spectrum to work with. It also means that picking the right
tools is more important than ever.

Pick tools that are going to be easy for you to use,
require minimal maintenance but provide you with maximum
potential results. This will help to prevent your marketing
plan from joining the ranks of those that have failed.
Knowing the right tools to use can often be a trial and
error process. The important thing is to avoid one of the
reasons why marketing plans fail. In this case the reason
involves putting too much into a single marketing tool.

Action, Action, Action

One of the biggest reasons why marketing plans end up
failing is the lack of action. Marketing is an active part
of your business, it is not a set and forget aspect of you
business. In order to ensure that a marketing plan succeeds
you must be actively engaged in working that plan. This
means that email marketing messages should be updated and
redesigned regularly.

SMS messages should be rewritten after very send. These
messages should be short, contain only the minimum
necessary information. It is important to remember that SMS
marketing is relatively new and involves sending messages
to mobile devices that often indicate repeat messages.

Videos should be produced, edited and updated to as high a
level as possible. Computers and technology can turn just
about any computer into a production studio with the right
software. Keep videos interesting, engaging and relevant.
The videos should be related to the company, the products
or the services offered.

It is important to set up a marketing schedule and find out
how much time, generally through trial and error that you
need each day, week or month to handle all your marketing
tasks and keep everything up to date.

The reasons why a marketing plan might fail are numerous.
Some of these reasons include, failing to do the proper
research into the market, the competition as well as the
tools available. Other reasons can be failing to have
enough tools, having too many tools or not using the tools
you have effectively. Taking the time to make sure that you
have the information you need as well as putting in the
effort to ensure your success can go a long way to
eliminating these reasons.

Promotional Products And Ethical Trading

Are your products manufactured in workshops where workers
have to sleep on their workbenches and live in terrible
conditions? Do your suppliers employ child labour to make
your promotional products such as Promotional Clothing or
Promotional Merchandise?

You may think you know the answer but do you really know
what goes on all the way up and down your supply chain?
This article sets out to explain what Ethical Trading in
Promotional Products is all about and why you should
seriously consider introducing Ethical practices into your
supply chain.

If you do not check out how ethical your company trades
then it could be you who is next to appear in the national
newspapers or on the TV around the world.

Slavery may have been reduced but has not been erradicated
and the greed of man will always ensure that it never will
be. As long as there is a profit to be made then
unscrupulous people will trade in slavery. A recent report
by the Trades Union Congress estimated that there are more
than 250 million children around the globe who were
employed in work which jeopardised their education, health
or freedom. There are two major differences now compared to
1807 when slavery was abolished in the UK. Firstly society
in general has grown a social conscience and is abhorred by
the thought of child or prison slave labour being used in
the manufacturing of goods they purchase. Additionally
because communications are so instant any story relating to
unethical trading can be distributed worldwide in less than
an hour.

Yet there are still many corporations that do not recognise
how much damage can be inflicted upon them by not trading
ethically. A simple search on Google for child slave labour
in the UK brings up a plethora of related stories. It
should also be recognised that these stories do not just
create issues for major high street stores but very small
companies who are part of any supply chain can be affected
in exactly the same way. If these companies are found to be
trading unethically and are unwilling to change then they
will undoubtedly be dropped as preferred suppliers.

Does your Promotional Products company trade ethically
now? The number of companies who set out to trade
unethically is minute. The rest, if it ever crosses their
minds, probably assume that they do trade ethically and
until such times as it comes to light that there may be
issues in their supply chain they have no reason to think
otherwise. Until a few years ago ignorance could have been
used as an excuse but it is no longer acceptable. The
advent of the internet and other improvements in
communications means that information on any farm or
factory can easily be obtained mostly within a matter of
days.

When was the last time that your company really looked
closely at your supply chain to see where all the
components of your products are originating? Are you sure
that everyone you deal with and those suppliers that they
deal with are not using child or prison labour. Can you be
certain that all your purchased goods are manufactured in
sanitary premises? These questions do not just apply to the
major high street stores, they are relevant to every link
in the supply chain both large and small.

Tabletop Accessories; The Best Of The Best!

Everyone has their own styles and likes and dislikes. What
I think most people don't understand is that when it comes
to your home, these likes and dislikes will ultimately
bring out YOUR style and YOUR personality. You don't
usually see a really quiet person that is shy have their
home filled with really bizarre art, tabletop accessories
and furniture. Just like you probably couldn't see a really
outrageous person with subdued colors and styles in their
home. This is your home, you can decorate it however you
want or however you see fit.

There are several options you can choose from when the time
comes to pick out your tabletop accessories - but you have
to make sure that every thing you'll pick will conclusively
fit your personality. Undermentioned are a few of my
all-time favorite tabletop accessories. Personally I have a
problem sticking with one specific style because I'm pretty
eclectic and like a little bit of everything, so just bear
with me!

Wine Glasses: An important part to any table, you can
choose from something like a regular wine glass, goblet,
tapio and every option in between! Nowadays we don't really
follow the conventional rules of wine drinking; we drink
what we want, with whatever food we want, when we want. If
you are one of these free spirited types of people then you
can really pick from any dark wine glass option you please!
You can also choose from different colors and different
materials as well. FYI, machine made products are almost
always going to be the same. So if you buy 12 wine glasses
that are machine made, these will not have any clear
differences. Whereas if you choose something like hand
blown, you are going to probably get different
characteristics. Nothing major, but it can give your table
a little bit more persona!

Beverage Dispensers & Pitchers: These aren't your grandma's
water pitchers I can tell you that. There are some majorly
funky and very fun shapes such as the Carafe, Jug, Ice Lip
and even "Flasks", which really aren't flasks, but they are
the shape of a flask! Again, you can choose from all kinds
of colors and shapes - funky or not! You can also choose
the types, craftsmanship, material it's made out of,
capacity, style, and of course brand and height. For most
tabletop accessories they say to choose different heights
because it will give your table more of a presence as far
as presentation goes. Think of it as a plate of food, you
wouldn't ever see a chef putting white food on a white
plate with white sauce. It has no depth! Choose different
colors and different heights and make your table really
stand out!

Dining Accessories: Some of these items I have never even
seen before, but they seem really cool! For example, I
found an actual glass honey pot! It has the same grooves as
a should-be beehive does and it comes with a metal lid and
an attached "honey scooper". Why not just use the glass jar
the honey is in? Because this ends up bringing a whole
'nother level of customization and elegance!

Flatware: You need flatware to eat! Unless you choose
really crazy themes like Indian or Japanese dinner... When
it comes to flatware or silverware you again have a ton of
options available to you not only sizes and types of
materials, but colors, different patterns.

Remember, these accessories are for your home, your table
and it's supposed to ooze your personality. If you want
classic, go classic. If you want retro go retro. The point
here is that no matter what your taste or style or
personality is, you can truly choose from any options your
heart desires!

Heck, you can even mix and match if you want to. A lot of
people even choose to do this with their home decor, they
might have an eclectic taste so they go with a little bit
of French country, a dash of contemporary with a flair or
two of classic! I think tabletop accessories and the
options that come along with something like this is so
exciting, this is supposed to be fun!

Guidelines of Appreciation for Donors of your Company or Organizations

One of the most important aspects that you need to realize
about donors is that most of them do it out of the sheer
reason behind the donating (to give). However, it still is
important that you really recognize these people,
companies, businesses or organizations to show your
appreciation for what they have done. One of the best ways
to go about something like this, is choosing a recognition
that has been done for hundreds of years - donor walls and
donor plaques.

These are walls, plaques or other objects that you can
place inside your organization or even outside, which is
going to recognize those that have given to your
organization. I would say that this is one of the more
popular ways of giving gratitude for something that someone
has done, but it's not the ONLY thing that should be done
when showing your appreciation, here I have listed a few
more guidelines you should follow when it comes to
recognizing or thanking your donors.

Donor Walls/Donor Plaques: Since these are the most popular
ways of going about a "thank you" I'll list these first.
These are plaques or walls that emblazoned with platinum,
silver or bronze material that is etched with the donors
name, business organization, how much they donated, etc.
It's a good idea to ask the person or business what they
would have on the plaque or the wall since some people
really wish to remain anonymous. You have so many different
options when it comes to these donor walls and donor
plaques; everything from plain plaques to Tree of Life
designs, to really fancy designs like glass panels,
photo-murals, and historic images.

Thank-you note: Get everyone involved in your organization
to write a thank-you note TO the person that donated. This
will include any employees or staff members along with the
higher ups include board members the CEO of the
organization, etc. Most people want to help, but they
simply don't know how to show recognition. In this case,
it's a good idea to meet with your board of members and let
them know about a few simple ideas that they can do! Most
of them will be completely willing to send out a thank you
card, letter or note!

Scheduled event or dinner: Try to schedule a gala, hosted
party, or some kind of an event to show your appreciation
for all of the donors (not just one or two). It doesn't
matter how much they have donated - everyone should be
shown they are appreciated! Another thing you could do is
tell your donors before hand that if they donate a specific
amount of money, they will be highlighted during a speech
done by the business as a show of their recognition.
Usually this will result in higher donations as well so
it's a win-win.

You can also do other "thank you" options as well such as
thank you baskets or phone calls and make sure you
personalize the call and use the person's name, how much
they donated, etc. let them know that you really appreciate
their gift! These guidelines aren't to only thank the
donors for what they have already given, but it also helps
when it comes to those donors donating again the future
because they will truly see that they are appreciated and
that you will recognize their donations!

Protecting the "Swiss-made" Luxury Watch Label

Switzerland, home to almost each and every luxury watch
brand in the world, is seeking tougher rules to protect its
"made in Switzerland" label.

It's not only luxury watches that the Swiss Government is
seeking to protect, it's all luxury goods made in that
country, from cheese and penknives to men's and women's
luxury watches.

It's known that when something is labeled "made in
Switzerland" consumers are willing to pay for that
certification; up to 20% more.

This label along with the white on red Swiss cross logo has
been stolen by counterfeit companies looking to produce and
sell cheaper version of luxury goods. China is king of this
practice and luxury watchmakers like the Swatch Group,
Rolex and Richemont, which owns brands like Cartier
watches, Jaeger-LeCoultre and Panerai, among others, are
feeling the brunt of this.

To toughen the use of the right to use the "Swiss made"
label, the government is proposing that "60% of the
manufacturing costs of industrial products are accrued in
Switzerland."

The luxury watch industry currently demands that at least
50% of a timepiece's mechanics must be made in Switzerland
to qualify as "Swiss", but has already proposed an increase
even for itself of 80%.

When shopping for a luxury watch its critical to make sure
that the watch is certified and comes with a trackable
serial number. However, it also pays to realize that one
need not purchase a men's or women's luxury watch from the
brand's boutique or another retailer; there are many online
sellers that offer the real deal at less expensive prices.

Since China really and truly is the king of counterfeit,
let's focus on them. Back in 2001 China was not considered
the economic powerhouse that it is today. And in fact, the
Chinese were so used and seemingly pleased with buying fake
version of all luxury goods - handbags, watches, sunglasses
and more - that no one really thought it would be a strong
market for the real thing. Today it is. Back then it was
Japan who was gobbling up luxury goods and today it is the
Chinese.

Not only is China buying more than anyone else in the
world, they are also exporting more than anyone else in the
world, which is why the problem that the Swiss are
experiencing is so serious. Already, luxury goods companies
have suffered drastic drops in sales of their products,
most notably in the U.S. which used to be the world's major
economic powerhouse with an insatiable appetite for luxury
items such as women's luxury watches, men's watches,
jewelry watches and all designer watches.

According to consulting company Bain & Co, here are stats
for the drop in the luxury goods market: in the first half
of the year, the market shrank from $220 billion to $198
billion, reporting quarter-on-quarter losses of 15% in Q1
2009 and 20% in Q2 2009. The forecast for the entire year
is an overall 10% drop which means that the numbers
somewhat stabilized.

While spending money and desire for luxury goods grows in
China and other emerging markets where there is a lot of
new-found wealth, like Russia, this spending in the U.S. is
expected to go down "16%, Japan down 10% and Europe down
8%." China's appetite is expected to grow by 12%.

And with a controlled population, a one child enforced
policy, China had more parents and grandparents that want
to spend and give money to only one child versus more. The
importance of social status in China is also growing, which
fuels a want to all things nice like luxury watches and
designer handbags, clothes and shoes and more. Cartier
watches, Gucci watches, Bvlgari watches, and others are hot
tickets.

Sony Movie Studio 8 Cannot Capture Canon HV-40

I recently purchased the Canon HV-40 camcorder. Wow! What
a big improvement over the Canon GL2. The Canon GL2 is a
fantastic camera, but it is just a bit older technology and
it is not High Definition quality. There is a real
discernible difference in the final result.

I was disappointed by the inability to capture video using
Sony Movie Studio 8. I did several Google searches and all
I saw was frustration by other users. I found no readily
available solutions, and that is why I wanted to make this
post available to others.

I tried capturing video on two different computers, one is
XP-64 and the other is a standard 32 bit XP. The same
error message showed up on each computer. Actually, the
same error message kept showing:

"The Device 'Microsoft AV/C Tape Subunit Device' could not
be opened. Please make sure that it is turned on and is
not being used by another application or user."

I tried using Movie Maker that comes installed on XP and
experienced the same error. By the way, I have used the
same computers for several years to capture video from the
Canon GL2 without any problems.

Note: A USB cable is enclosed with the HV-40. Naturally,
you would think that you coule use it to capture your
videos, but no way. The instruction book doesn't make this
very clear. It is used only to upload still photos from
the miniSD card that you can insert into the camcorder.

You will need an OHCI compliant IEEE1394 card for your
computer and the appropriate cable. I found one for only
$7.50 on the web, including the cable. The new IEEE1394
card didn't solve my capture problem.

I finally found a workaround solution. I downloaded
freeware called HDVSplit. I installed that software and
everything worked fine. I was able to import m2t files
into Sony Movie Studio 8.0 without any apparent loss.
Unfortunately, Microsoft Movie Maker doesn't recognize the
m2t files created by HDVSplit. That didn't present a
problem since I have been using Sony Movie Studio 8
software and really like it.

To summarize, if you are using Sony Movie Studio 8 and the
Canon HV-40 camcorder, you can solve your capture problem
by downloading the freeware HDVSplit software. It worked
for me.

P. S. I did take the Canon HV-40 over to my friend's house
to try capturing with his Sony Vegas Pro 8. It captured
perfectly without having to use the HDVSplit software.
Sony Vegas Pro 8 is the high end version for about $599.
Actually, I just checked...it is Sony Vegas Pro 9 now, and
I am confident it will capture from the HV-40.

Canon support was very responsive to my pleas for help, but
they couldn't solve my problem since it wasn't their
problem. It was the Sony software problem. My version of
Sony Movie Studio 8 that didn't recognize the HV-40. I
never did contact Sony for help because I solved my problem
with the freeware, and therefore, didn't need to involve
Sony.

Internet Marketing Information: How to Tell the Good From the Bad

If you have an online business, you already know you need
good Internet marketing information in order to succeed.
Unfortunately, if you are just getting started, it can be
difficult to sort through all the online clutter to find
information that is genuine, reliable and most importantly,
profitable.

Finding solid Internet marketing information is important
because it can greatly reduce your learning curve. It can
help you become profitable a whole lot faster. For example,
when launching your business, you need good advice on how
to choose the right niche and the right product or service.
You also need to know how to develop a great web site and
how to rank well in the search engines. In reality, these
points are just the tip of the proverbial iceberg in terms
of what you will need to know in order to be successful
long term. Finding good Internet marketing information
early on can shave months, or even years, off this process.

Of course, the Internet is a constantly evolving medium. A
product or strategy that was all the rage a few months ago
may now be out of favor as new ideas appear on the scene.
Amidst this backdrop, it is very difficult to distinguish
between what is genuine and what is unreliable. Therefore,
you need to evaluate any Internet marketing information you
find very carefully before investing your hard-earned money
or even more valuable time in pursuing it.

When evaluating the validity of any Internet marketing
information you find, it is very important to first
consider its source.

Some questions you might consider include:

- Is the source reputable? A quick online search is a great
way to find any obvious red flags.

- Is the author successfully using his advice in his own
business? (Hint: the Internet is full of so-called gurus
who have never made a dime by practicing what they preach).

- Can she provide proof in the form of testimonials or
endorsements to support her claims?

- Is there an active community surrounding this individual?
Does he have a forum? If so, are the conversations going on
there focused on the 'right' way to do things (vs. sneaky
tricks to game the system?) One of the best ways to
determine the real deal is to hang back and study what is
going on around their little corner of the Internet.

Once you find a reputable source, you then need to be sure
the recommended strategies and tips will work in your case.
Before accepting and making use of any Internet marketing
information you find, make sure it is applicable to your
particular business model. In other words, if someone is
making a fortune selling information products to an
international audience and you are running a dry cleaning
service in Topeka, Kansas - you might want to look for
advice more relevant to your own situation.

This is where good old-fashioned common sense comes into
play.First, find someone who is already successful doing
what you want to do. Then, do your research and make sure
he or she is legit. Finally, start with the basics and
build from there. You will find the tried-and-true
fundamentals don't change nearly as rapidly as the latest
fads do. Before you know it, you'll be on your way to
building a profitable and sustainable long-term business
online.

Using Social Marketing To Earn Money and Make New Friends

Social marketing is a fantastic tool to increase your
income and meet people all around the world. In this
article we want to talk about a handful of specific things
you can do to earn more money and make new friends with
social marketing.

One of the things I like about the Internet is how it
allows people who are not socially oriented to become more
active in meeting people. This is made possible through
your computer, Internet access, and a little bit of hard
work online.

The other thing is for people wanting to earn more money
there are many ways to promote products online via social
marketing. One of the most popular is to use social
networking to meet people and drive traffic to your website
or blog.

Right now two of the most popular social networking sites
are Twitter and Facebook. It is interesting how many people
actually use these to sites to communicate with people.
Believe it or not in many instances this is replacing email
and text messaging via cell phone.

It can be addictive to hang out online all day and see what
is going on in various people pages. Also Twitter it is a
very powerful form of micro-blogging that even the
president of the United States uses to communicate with his
followers.

As an Internet marketer you can keep in touch with your
followers and friends and let them know about new products
you are offering. If you are in a network marketing program
you can promote it in a passive way just by announcing
something to your friends.

Many people have caught on to the fact that You Tube is
owned by Google and is a great way to drive traffic to a
website. Google is beginning to replace websites and blogs
with videos when people do online searches.

If you enjoy creating videos you can use those to teach
people about your Internet business. It is only natural for
them to then go to your website or blog and purchase your
product after having watched your video online.

Others use their blog as a way to create loyal readers and
serve as search engine bait. This is an excellent form of
social marketing that can be a lot of fun as well as a way
to make money too.

As you can see social marketing has become a common focal
point in many people's lives. As an Internet marketer you
can earn money and make new friends every day using this
powerful form of Internet business promotion.
