Hi Stéphane
I would like to test the program against MLA, AbaPro & Nacre, but have some
trouble accessing the source code.
I have tried your link, but is unfamiliar with the .smi.bin format. A quick
google gives me the idea that it is a "self-mounting image" which I have no idea
how to read on windows.
Is it possible for you to provide a .tar.gz file with the source?
In case the source really is public / open source, could you set up a project on
sourceforge.net?
I did a crude port of the old program to Linux & Windows using gcc. The purpose
was to test the strength of Nacre, and as part of that task I added support for
abnet. I would like to repeat this exercise for the new source code, and provide
you with a patch. This would of couse be much easier if the code was at sf.net
Regards,
Peer

Emne: [abalone_prog] Peter Tax's Abalone program for Mac OS X
Hi all, hi Peter,
I have just finished porting Peter Tax's Abalone program from Mac OS 9 to Mac OS
X
(technically, it has been carbonized, as they at Apple). It is available here :
http://cassio.free.fr/abalone/
I have also included a couple of new evaluation functions and accelerated the
search
engine, and I think the program is quite strong now, (especially using the last
two
strategies : Epaminondas and Hannibal). I would be really interested to know how
it
performs against other programs...
The souce code is also available, of course. Thanks to Peter for making it
public in the first
place !
Enjoy,
Stéphane
