Paul Rosen and I have joined forces on developing abcjs. The current state of affairs can be found at:

Don't hesitate to let us know what would be priority fixes for your usage of abc, or if you have some in-browser rendering needs for abc.

We are at a point where we are pondering the relative merits of data structures and would be grateful for advice from those who have implemented abc tools, particularly the stuff from 2.0.

What is particularly confusing is looking at the various BNF proposals: 1.6 clearly shows the semantics of chords, gracings, grace-notes, notes, etc. 2.0 says what the syntax is, but makes very little semantic inferences.
