Hi there folks.
Being quite new to abc (and being quite amazed at what it and the
software that has grown up with it can do), I was wondering if anyone
has developed any software that can get close to playing accurate GHB
pitch on a computer.
The best I manage at the moment (I use ABCedit) is to transpose up a
semitone from K:HP - you have to select E flat major. The result looks
odd (it ends up in D flat major with the Gs and Ds naturalised), but
that doesn't matter - it seems to play fine.
It's an OK approximation for many purposes, and I guess it is the
closest you can get sticking to standard, equally-tempered A440 scales.
Anyone know if there is anything out there that can do better?
Maybe this isn't possible at the moment because of the MIDI standard,
or the way the computer MIDI interfaces currently implement the
standard - I don't know too much about it.
Thanks,
