   International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Security (CIS) is a major annual international conference to bring together researchers, engineers, developers and practitioners from academia and industry working in all areas of two crucial fields in information processing: computational intelligence (CI) and information security (IS), to share the experience, and exchange and cross-fertilize ideas. In particular, the series of CIS conference provides an ideal platform to explore the potential applications of CI models, algorithms and technologies to IS.

   Following the great success of CIS'2005-2010, the seventh conference CIS'2011 serves as a forum for the dissemination of state-of-the-art research, development, and implementations of systems, technologies and applications in these two broad fields. CIS'2011 is co-organized by Hainan Association of Computing Machinery and Guangdong University of Technology. Also, it is co-sponsored by Xidian University and Beijing Nomal University. CIS'2011 will be held in Sanya, Hainan Province, China on December 3-4, 2011.

   Prospective authors are invited to submit high-quality manuscripts written in English. The submission of a paper implies that the paper is original and has not been submitted to elsewhere for possible publication. All submissions will be blindly reviewed by experts in the field based on originality, significance, quality and clarity. Authors must not reveal any author information in the submitted paper(s), otherwise the paper(s) will be rejected immediately without going through the reviewing process. Authors should use the Latex style files or MS-Word templates provided by the CPS to format their papers. The length of a submitted paper should not exceed 5 pages in two-column format. The accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings published by the Conference Publishing Services (CPS), and be further submitted to the indexing companies for possible indexing, including EI and ISTP. Nevertheless, all past CIS'2005-CIS'2010 proceedings have been successfully indexed in EI, and it is expected that the publication and indexing process of CIS'11 remain the same as in the past.

The accepted papers will be further selected based on its originality and technical quality, and significantly expanded and included in several Special Issues of the International Journals (EI or SCI indexed).

It is our pleasure to announce a new call for papers for the second special
issue of Journal of Robotics in year 2011.  The call for papers on cognitive
and
neural sciences related to robotic systems appeared to be a successful
challenge.
 
Robotics has been widely applied for various fields such as automation and other
control and engineering systems.  Recent developments of humanoid and
human-like
robots are a milestone in the field of robotics, and they can be a platform for
breaking new ground of robotics applications for human-friendly medical and
welfare systems.  Cognitive and learning aspects for such robots are, however,
still underdeveloped compared to highly controlled mechanisms of recent robotic
systems.
 
Similarly to the previous call of CNAR, the main challenges of this new call for
the special issue are the cognitive aspects of robotics, especially the neural
and fuzzy basis of human intelligence and the fundamental model of human
cognitive and motor functions from the brain sciences point of view.  We
welcome
papers focused on special and newest hardware and biocomputing implementations
that enhance cognitive capabilities in the field of robotics.
 
We invite authors to present original research articles as well as review
articles that will cross-fertilize the fields of cognitive sciences and
robotics.  Potential topics include, but are not limited to, the following:

The International Symposium on Artificial Intelligence and Mathematics (ISAIM) is a biennial meeting that fosters interactions between mathematics, theoretical computer science, and artificial intelligence.  This is the twelfth Symposium in the series, which is sponsored by Annals of Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence.  We seek submissions of recent results with a particular emphasis on the foundations of AI and mathematical methods used in AI.  Papers describing applications are also encouraged, but the focus should be on principled lessons learned from the development of the application. Traditionally, the Symposium attracts participants from a variety of disciplines, thereby providing a unique forum for scientific exchange. The three-day Symposium includes invited speakers, presentations of technical papers, and special topic sessions.

PAPER SUBMISSION:

Paper submission will be electronic via the submission link to ConfMaster on the Paper Submission page of the Symposium website (/www.cs.uic.edu/Isaim2012/ ).  Papers must be formatted in accordance with the guidelines given there.

The submission deadline is Friday, September 23, 2011 (11:59PM PDT). Papers will be reviewed by members of the Program Committee. Authors will be notified of acceptance or rejection by Friday, October 28, 2012.  Final versions of accepted papers, for inclusion in the conference electronic proceedings, are due by Monday, December 5, 2011. 

Work that has already been published as of the ISAIM submission deadline should not be submitted to ISAIM unless it introduces a significant addition to the previously published work. However, the ISAIM web site proceedings are not archival, so papers submitted to ISAIM can be under review at the time of submission and can be submitted elsewhere after ISAIM.

Authors of a selected set of papers from the Symposium will be invited to submit full versions of their papers for inclusion in a special volume of the Annals of Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence, published by Springer. Those invited submissions will be subject to refereeing at the usual standards of the journal, and authors will receive more details with the acceptance notice. Papers must of course be new and unpublished to be considered for the special volume.

SUBMISSION OF
PAPERS:

Prospective authors are invited to submit their papers by
uploading them
to the evaluation web site at: http://world-comp.org
Submissions must be uploaded by March
12, 2012 and they must be in
either MS doc or pdf formats (about 7 pages
including all figures,
tables, and references - single space, font size of 10
to 12). All
reasonable typesetting formats are acceptable (later, the authors
of
accepted papers will be asked to follow a particular typesetting
format
to prepare their final papers for publication.) Papers must not
have
been previously published or currently submitted for
publication
elsewhere. The first page of the paper should include: title of
the
paper, name, affiliation, postal address, and email address for
each
author. The first page should also identify the name of the Contact
Author
and a maximum of 5 topical keywords that would best represent the
content
of the paper. The name of the conference (ie, GEM) that the paper
is
being submitted for consideration must be stated on the first page of
the
paper as well as a 100 to 150-word abstract. The length of the
final
Camera-Ready papers (if accepted) will be limited to 7 (two-column
IEEE
style) pages.

Each paper will be peer-reviewed by two experts in
the field for originality,
significance, clarity, impact, and soundness. In
cases of contradictory
recommendations, a member of the conference program
committee will be charged
to make the final decision (accept/reject); often,
this would involve seeking
help from additional referees by using a
double-blinded review process. In
addition, all papers whose authors include
a member of the conference program
committee will be evaluated using the
double-blinded review process.
(Essay/philosophical papers will not be
refereed but may be considered for
discussion/panels). Proceedings of GEM
will be published and indexed in:
Inspec / IET / The Institute for
Engineering & Technology, DBLP / CS
Bibliography, & others. The
printed proceedings/books will be available for
distribution on site at the
conference.

In addition to the publication of the proceedings, selected
authors will be
invited to submit extended versions of their papers for
publication in a
number of research books contracted with various publishers
(such as,
Springer, Elsevier, ...) - these books will be composed after
the
conference. Also, many chairs of tracks will be forming journal
special
issues to be published after the conference.


PROPOSAL FOR
ORGANIZING CONFERENCE TRACKS:

GEM 2012 is composed of a number of tracks.
A track can be a session,
a workshop, or a symposium. A session will have at
least 6 papers; a
workshop at least 12 papers; and a symposium at least 18
papers. Track
chairs will be responsible for all aspects of their tracks,
including:
soliciting papers, reviewing, selecting, ... The names of track
chairs
will appear as Associate Editors in the conference proceedings and
on
the cover of the printed books (and indexed in science databases as
such).

Proposals to organize tracks (sessions, workshops, or symposiums)
should
include the following information: name and address (+ email) of
proposer,
his/her biography, title of track, a 100-word description of the
topic of
the track, the name of the conference (ie, GEM) the track is
submitted
for consideration, and a short description on how the track will
be
advertised (in most cases, track proposers solicit papers from
colleagues
and researchers whose work is known to the track proposer). E-mail

An important mission of
WORLDCOMP is "Providing a unique platform for
a diverse community of
constituents composed of scholars, researchers,
developers, educators, and
practitioners. The Congress makes concerted
effort to reach out to

PAPERS:

Prospective authors are invited to submit their papers by
uploading them
to the evaluation web site at: http://world-comp.org
Submissions must be uploaded by March
12, 2012 and they must be in
either MS doc or pdf formats (about 7 pages
including all figures,
tables, and references - single space, font size of 10
to 12). All
reasonable typesetting formats are acceptable (later, the authors
of
accepted papers will be asked to follow a particular typesetting
format
to prepare their final papers for publication.) Papers must not
have
been previously published or currently submitted for
publication
elsewhere. The first page of the paper should include: title of
the
paper, name, affiliation, postal address, and email address for
each
author. The first page should also identify the name of the Contact
Author
and a maximum of 5 topical keywords that would best represent the
content
of the paper. The name of the conference (ie, ICAI) that the paper
is
being submitted for consideration must be stated on the first page of
the
paper as well as a 100 to 150-word abstract. The length of the
final
Camera-Ready papers (if accepted) will be limited to 7 (two-column
IEEE
style) pages.

Each paper will be peer-reviewed by two experts in
the field for originality,
significance, clarity, impact, and soundness. In
cases of contradictory
recommendations, a member of the conference program
committee will be charged
to make the final decision (accept/reject); often,
this would involve seeking
help from additional referees by using a
double-blinded review process. In
addition, all papers whose authors include
a member of the conference program
committee will be evaluated using the
double-blinded review process.
(Essay/philosophical papers will not be
refereed but may be considered for
discussion/panels). Proceedings of ICAI

PROPOSAL FOR
ORGANIZING CONFERENCE TRACKS:

ICAI 2012 is composed of a number of
tracks. A track can be a session,
a workshop, or a symposium. A session will
have at least 6 papers; a
workshop at least 12 papers; and a symposium at
least 18 papers. Track
chairs will be responsible for all aspects of their
tracks, including:
soliciting papers, reviewing, selecting, ... The names of
track chairs
will appear as Associate Editors in the conference proceedings
and on
the cover of the printed books (and indexed in science databases as
such).

Proposals to organize tracks (sessions, workshops, or symposiums)
should
include the following information: name and address (+ email) of
proposer,
his/her biography, title of track, a 100-word description of the
topic of
the track, the name of the conference (ie, ICAI) the track is
submitted
for consideration, and a short description on how the track will
be
advertised (in most cases, track proposers solicit papers from
colleagues

WORLDCOMP is "Providing a unique platform for
a diverse community of
constituents composed of scholars, researchers,

PAPER SUBMISSION:
IIP2012 seeks papers describing original work which has not been previously published and is not under review for publication elsewhere. Conference proceedings will be published by the Springer. All accepted papers will be indexed by EI and INSPEC.

Papers should be no longer than 10 pages including all tables, figures, and references but excluding a cover page. Fonts should be in 10 pt. Each submission must include one cover page which should contain:

(1) Title of the paper with an abstract of no more than 500 words; 

(2) A few keywords, from the list above where possible, giving a clear indication of topics;

(3) Author names with affiliations, complete postal addresses, and phone numbers; 

(4) Email address of the contact author.

The authors can use the word or latex template published in the IIP2012 Website ( http://www.intsci.ac.cn/iip2012/) for preparing the papers. All papers should be submitted via the Easychair paper management system: http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=iip2012.

SUBMISSION OF PAPERS:

Prospective authors are invited to submit their papers by uploading them
to the evaluation web site at:  http://world-comp.org
Submissions must be uploaded by March 12, 2012 and they must be in
either MS doc or pdf formats (about 7 pages including all figures,
tables, and references - single space, font size of 10 to 12). All
reasonable typesetting formats are acceptable (later, the authors of
accepted papers will be asked to follow a particular typesetting format
to prepare their final papers for publication.) Papers must not have
been previously published or currently submitted for publication
elsewhere. The first page of the paper should include: title of the
paper, name, affiliation, postal address, and email address for each
author. The first page should also identify the name of the Contact Author
and a maximum of 5 topical keywords that would best represent the content
of the paper. The name of the conference (ie, ICAI) that the paper is
being submitted for consideration must be stated on the first page of the
paper as well as a 100 to 150-word abstract. The length of the final
Camera-Ready papers (if accepted) will be limited to 7 (two-column IEEE
style) pages.

Each paper will be peer-reviewed by two experts in the field for originality,
significance, clarity, impact, and soundness. In cases of contradictory
recommendations, a member of the conference program committee will be
charged to make the final decision (accept/reject); often, this would involve
seeking help from additional referees by using a double-blinded review
process. In addition, all papers whose authors include a member of the
conference program committee will be evaluated using the double-blinded
review process. (Essay/philosophical papers will not be refereed but may be
considered for discussion/panels).

Authors whose papers are accepted will be instructed to upload their papers
to a particular web site for publication - the uploaded papers to the
publication web site will only be checked for correct typesetting. At this
point, authors will be required to attest to the originality of their work
(ie, declaring that no part of the work is plagiarized and the paper does not
suffer from any acts of plagiarism.)

Proceedings of ICAI will be published in printed conference books (ISBN)
and will also be made available online. The proceedings will be indexed in
science citation databases that track citation frequency/data for each
published paper (science citation databases such as: Inspec / IET / The
Institute for Engineering & Technology; The French National Center for
Scientific Research, CNRS, INIST databases, PASCAL (covers the core scientific
literature in Science; about 90% of inclusions are journals; only about 9%
are proceedings; worldcomp tracks are selected to be among the 9% - accessable
from INIST, Datastar, Dialog, EBSCO, OVID, Questel.Orbit, Qwam, and STN
International); and others. Though, there is no guarantee that the proceedings
will also be included in EI Compendex/Elsevier indexings, in the past, the
track that ICAI belonged to was included in these databases. Therefore, we
will also be sending the proceedings for indexing procedures to EI
Compendex/Elsevier. The printed proceedings/books will be available for
distribution on site at the conference.

In addition to the publication of the proceedings, selected authors will be
invited to submit extended versions of their papers for publication in a
number of research books contracted with various publishers. These books
will be composed after the conference. Also, many chairs of tracks will
be forming journal special issues to be published after the conference.

SUBMISSION OF POSTER PAPERS:

Poster papers can be 2 pages long. Authors are to follow the same instructions
that appear above (see, SUBMISSION OF REGULAR PAPERS) except for the submission
is limited to 2 pages. On the first page, the author should state that "This
paper is being submitted as a poster". Poster papers (if accepted) will be
published if and only the author of the accepted paper wishes to do so.

Workshop Overview
------
In sequential decision making, an agent's objective is to choose actions, based on its observations of the world, in such a way that it expects to optimize its performance measure over the course of a series of such decisions. In environments where action consequences are non-deterministic or observations incomplete, Markov decision processes (MDPs)and partially observable MDPs (POMDPs) serve as the basis for principled approaches to single-agent sequential decision making. Extending these models to systems of multiple agents has become the subject of an increasingly active area of research over the past decade and a variety of models have emerged (e.g., the MMDP, Dec-POMDP, MTDP, I-POMDP, and POSG). The high computational complexity of these models has driven researchers to develop multiagent planning and learning methods that exploit the structure present in agents' interactions, methods that provide efficient approximate solutions, and methods that distribute computation among the agents.

The MSDM workshop serves several purposes. The primary purpose is to bring together researchers in the field of MSDM to present and discuss new work and preliminary ideas. Moreover, we aim to identify recent trends, to establish important directions for future research, and to discuss some of the topics mentioned below such as challenging application areas (e.g., cooperative robotics, distributed sensor and/or communication networks, decision support systems) and suitable evaluation methodologies. Finally, a goal of the workshop is to make the field more accessible to newcomers, by seeking to bring order in the large number of models and methods that have been introduced over the last decade.

Prof. Makoto Yokoo (Kyushu University)

Short Bio: Makoto Yokoo received the B.E. and M.E. degrees in electrical engineering, in 1984 and 1986, respectively, from the University of Tokyo, Japan, and the Ph.D. degree in information and communication engineering in 1995, from the University of Tokyo, Japan. From 1986 to 2004, he was a research scientist of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT). He is currently a Professor of Information Science and Electrical Engineering, Kyushu University. His research interests include multi-agent systems, constraint satisfaction, and mechanism design among self-interested agents.

He served as a general co-chair of International Conference on Autonomous Agents and MultiAgent Systems in 2007 (AAMAS-2007), and as a program co-chair of AAMAS-2003. He is currently the president of International Foundation for Autonomous Agent and Multiagent Systems (IFAAMAS). He received the ACM SIGART Autonomous Agents Research Award in 2004, and the IFAAMAS influential paper award in 2010.

Details: “Repeated Games with Private Monitoring: A New Frontier for POMDP Researchers”

Repeated games provide a formal and quite general framework to examine why self-interested agents to cooperate in a long-term relationship. Formally, repeated games refer to a class of models where the same set of agents repeatedly play the same game, called the 'stage game', over a long (typically, infinite) time horizon. The case where agents can perfectly observe each other's actions (perfect monitoring) is extensively studied; there exist rich theoretical results including the well-known folk theorem, which shows that any cooperative outcome is possible under several mild assumptions. However, in reality, long term relationships are often plagued by imperfect monitoring, i.e., agents cannot directly observe each other's actions; they observe signals that imperfectly reveal what actions have been taken.

Repeated games with imperfect monitoring are classified into two categories: the case of public monitoring, where players commonly observe a public signal, and the case of private monitoring. where each player observes a signal that is not observable to others. The imperfect public monitoring case shares many features with the perfect monitoring case, and we now have a good understanding of how it works. In contrast, the imperfect private monitoring case is still in its infancy. However, quite recently, we found that there exists a strong relationship between the equilibrium analysis in the imperfect private monitoring case and POMDP planning. In this talk, I sketch the main results of repeated games and describe how we can utilize POMDP techniques to analyze an equilibrium in the imperfect private monitoring case.

It is our pleasure to announce a new call for papers for the third special issue
on cognitive and neural aspects of robotics with applications for the Journal
of Robotics.  The call for papers on cognitive and neural sciences related to
robotic systems was a successful challenge. 

Robotics has been widely applied for various fields such as automation and other
control and engineering systems.  Recent developments of humanoid and
human-like robots are a milestone in the field of robotics, and they can be a
platform for breaking new ground of robotics applications for human-friendly
medical and welfare systems.  Cognitive and learning aspects for such robots
are, however, still underdeveloped compared to highly controlled mechanisms of
recent robotic systems. 

Like the previous calls for papers of CNAR, the main challenges of this new call
for papers for the special issue are cognitive aspects of robotics, especially
the neural and fuzzy basis of human intelligence and the fundamental model of
human cognitive and motor functions from the brain sciences point of view.  We
welcome research papers focused on special and newest hardware and biocomputing
implementations that enhance cognitive capabilities in the field of robotics. 

We invite authors to submit original research articles as well as review
articles that will cross-fertilize the fields of cognitive sciences and
robotics.  Potential topics include, but are not limited to, the following:

-- Current applications and future prospects of cognitive sciences for
