Transactions by criteria report SLOW   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #6880 of 7198 |
Hello,

I am using the recent evaluation copy of AceMoney (3.16.2), thinking about
switching after using MSMoney for years. I've successfully imported all my
transactions, and I like what I see so far.... however, I have found that the
"Transactions by criteria" report is dreadfully slow to get started. The first
couple of times I though the program had frozen, but with a little patience I
found it was taking over 12 minutes with the hourglass cursor before the report
got started.

For reference, my computer is pretty average - 3 GHz P4 processor, 1 GB RAM,
WinXP SP3. My file is pretty big, I guess: the .mnw is about 1.4 MB, and there
are about 17,000 transactions.

Is this file just too big for AceMoney to handle? Or is there a way to generate
this report that avoids the delay? All the other reports on the report screen
start within seconds.

Thanks!

Jabez McC.

I have this issue too, not a 12 minute wait but something that seems "long". I always thought a default filter of "1 month" (or something small) might help....

Alex, I meant current month. I have no issues or problems with the reports as they work today. It's so easy to select my own criteria, but then again, my needs...

I'd vote for "last 30 days". It's a short period for a fast response and it's consistant with the "Last 30 days transactions" predefined report's range....

I'd vote current year, since I usually look at longer term trends, but I'm good with either current month or current year really. (Especially since I already...
