Ok, we are adding this to the plan!

Alex
A single Line Graph for spending and income over many months for a
perticular category should be good enough . I mean Y axis = Rs and X
axis = Months , for a perticular One/many categories .

Alex : This yahoogroup looks like keeping you busy more than 24 hrs a

Can you add next feature?
When we get report for categories, we have possibility to click in one
of it and receive list of transactions. In this view will be halpful to
have order and summing by subcategories. Foe example: Now i have
possibility to analize spending on category "car", but have no chance to
know how many i spent to "gas" in sum by period. Which is subcategory of
"car" category.

As I have understood - for each account we can setup a budgetary limit.
A limit for budgetary period chosen by us. It is correct?

Thus there are following things.
1) for periodic spending. There are a rent, parking etc. With them all is good.
2) periodic spending but not single. For example I can plan N dollars on
clothes category monthly. In our case I should specify a limit for the
category "clothes" and add purchases in this category or its
subcategories. Is it right? Ok. But all limit for one month is not
always spent. For an example: we have no apportunies to buy something
at last month, we shall buy it in current month. I.e. there should be as
in advertising "your money do not burn down. It is transferred to the
next month!" :) To correcting limit for each month is not correctly.
Will be better to see limit and the rest. Where a rest is dinamicaly
calculated period by period.

Alexander, we added Lev, sorry for that. When we were working on
Currencies, we grabbed a list of them from Yahoo Finance - BGN wasn't
there. I checked it today - they added it too, that means AceMoney
will be able to download currency exchange rates for BGN properly.
This will be a part of version 2.12, to be released soon.

Alexander.

Budgeting. Nothing else. At some point in time it was just one number
without attributes, it had to be entered with a sign (negative for
expenses). It was confusing and we implemented radio buttons that
basically select a sign of the limit.

And this is exactly my point. Think about it: you don't really want
to see how much you've spent on alcohol during the first, second,
third and fouth weeks. I think what you really want to see is your
cash flow for the period for the particular category (alcohol in this
case). And this is what VJ is asking for.

That would be even better. What I had in mind was a month view where
you can see all your bills, etc. for the whole month. The current
schedule shows a couple of week sin advance, but if you have a weekly
bill, only shows it once.

Hello friends,

I've recently registered Acemoney and must say that I am perfectly
happy with the program as it is. Currently, it follows the KISS
principle and that's all I was looking for.

By the way, Mr Simanov, could you please include the Bulgarian Lev
(BGN)in the Currencies table.

Good luck to the forum.

No - I don't think so. A most importent thing of all reports are
comparative analize by periods. All your implemented kind of reports
can to have third "Degree of freedom". And it will be very useful. I'm

Yes, I see. Well, there is a plan to implement a cash flow report
(with future estimations based on bills). Do you really want to see
two different graphs: one for income and another for spending, or a
simple cash flow showing all together would do it?

And I strongly disagree on this. I see no benefit assigning category
to income or expense. There are always categories belonging to both.
Here is an example: I bought a wireless router for $70, it has $20
mail-in rebate. This is clearly a withdrawal on category Electronics.
When I receive a rebate, I'm going to deposit it on my checking
account: deposit on Electronics. See, I made a deposit on expense
category. The total in category report must be $50, that's all I
want. Any chargeback when you return stuff back to store will lead to
the same confusion if categories are assigned to income and expense.
Let's keep it simple, that's the main goal!

Alexander.

I believe you are describing a concept that is called "favorite
reports" in MS Money. Good new for you: our design allows to
implement it, so we are going to work on it.

Ok, I see what you want. You know, I really understand a wish to see
dynamics of income and expenses, look at another thread where V.J.
asks for the same thing.

However I don't see a big value in reporting the category spendings
by periods. From my perspective it ruins the whole idea of budgeting.
I set up my budget limits on the monthly basis. And I'm not
interested at all how is my budget going week by week, all I need to
know is how much I can spend till the end of the month. Don't you
think so?

I want to compare the Spendings and Incomes month by month using a
line graph . So that It gives me an idea of how my spendings spread
across different categories .
Hope I made things clear ?

At transaction dialog screen we may to choose category. Good idea is to
change list of categories dinamicaly - depends of transaction type -
charge or income. Because all categories has this attribute, it seems
to be easy but very helpfull.

Hi againg :)

Next feature:
Once a time i create reports which interesting for me. At next time i
create this report againg and so on. Usualy i spend my time for creating equals
set of reports. If we create new abstract term - "current reported period", then
we
receive possibility to create and to save different reports. And in next
time i simple to load necessary report instead to create it again and
again.

Best regards,
romario13

Hi all!

I can to requrst follow feature:
The program has term "reported period". This is good idea. Each of us has one it
defferent. One a week, one a month and so on. Can we to continue in this
approach and to receive comparative reports? The family is the small company.
And very much it would be desirable to trace dinamics of change of charges and
incomes on the periods. As i see, it must be possible to choose necessary
periods on the report dialog screen, and go on to change usualy report states.
In result all reports (by categories and all another) will be represented as a
table of items in rows and periods in columns. It will be cool!

Best regards,
romario13

Gord, I think I see what you mean. Do you want to have several views
(one week, one month, etc.)?

Yes, I guess it's better to discuss feature requests here, not in
private email conversation. Having the opinions of multiple people
published here would help us to get a better understanding of your
needs. So, feel free to post your thoughts!

Alexander.

FWIW, since I am not Alexander, I would sure like to see them posted
here so all can comment.

Hi Alexander:

Thanks for setting this forum up! (These Yahoo groups are a good way
to get a forum started.)

Would you prefer that suggestions and feature requests for AceMoney
be sent to you directly by email or that they be posted here? Posting
on the forum would allow other users to read and perhaps comment on
them - which might give you a better sense of how widespread the
interest for a particular enhancement is.

Best regards,
O.J.

Would it be possible to have the "schedule" page displayed in calendar
format for easier reading? Then you could have a whole month's
scheduled bills visible at one time.

Great program by the way.
