First, let me say that AceMoney is an excellent product. I've been
very happy with it, except for one bug I've encountered:

My PayPal account includes sales to Japan, and for these, the name
field contains nonstandard characters. When I download a range of
transactions in .qif format and import them into AceMoney, only the
transactions occurring later than the foreign one (i.e. before it in
the file, since PayPal shows transactions in reverse order) are
imported. When the importer encounters the unrecognized characters, it
simply stops the import, and thus the foreign transaction and
potentially many others are missed. (There is no error message when
this happens.)

My workaround for this is to save the download as a .qif file and
manually change the name field with Notepad. Once the offending
characters are gone, the file can be imported without problems. But it
would be nice to see a fix for this issue.

Would it be possible to enable the possibility for user to decide them
self which colum they want to see and in which order?

I personally would like to see the income and outcome colum after the
date.

Could you please send a zipped qif file with at least one transaction
causing the error to support at mechcad.net? We will try to fix the
issue ASAP.

Is there a way to save a complicated set of report filters, so that
the combination may be used over and over? Or at least to use the last
specified set of filters?

If not, I would like to request something like that as a feature.

I would like to achieve a monthly report (probably by sub-category)
showing income and expenses per budget, so that the bottom totals show
what came in and went out for the month.

Following ideas found on this forum, I have a virtual account set up
for paychecks. The check is a deposit (split into Gross Pay, Group
Term Life,  LTD refund). A withdrawal distributes it to Net Pay,
deductions, taxes, etc.

If I do Net Pay as a Transfer from the virtual account to my checking
account (direct deposit) there does not seem to be a way to have it
show up on the monthly report in the Net Pay category.

If I assign the amount to Net Pay, it shows on the monthly report as a
withdrawal (minus amount) instead of as Income. And the deposit to the
checking account is a problem.

Is there a way to solve this to get the report I need?

is just something that I have noticed happen from time

I've been using AceMoney for two or three years and would like to
congratulate the team on an excellent program.

However, having previously used a program I wrote for the Mac many
years ago, there is one feature I miss from my program that I would
like to see in the next release of AceMoney...

Having to enter the decimal point in the "Amount" box of almost all
transactions is tedious and time consuming, especially for those of
us who use a laptop without numeric keypad. It would be helpful if it
was only necessary to enter the figures (pence in my case) and the
program automatically divided by 100 and inserted the decimal point
to give the amount in GBPounds.

Clearly, this makes it necessary to add two zeroes when there are no
fractional amounts in the transaction, but, as most transactions do
have fractional amounts, this is much quicker overall.

I'm aware that, for a program that also handles currencies without
any fractional amounts, this would not suit everybody, but it is a
feature that could easily be turned on or off via one of the menus.

Please make it happen!

Would lile to see "payment method" added to import rules. Most of the
time, I always pay the same bills the same way, on-line bill paying,
debit card, credit card, etc.

Sounds like a good addition to AceMoney! Thank you for bringing that

Thanks! I was waiting for the fix for this problem as it was driving me
nuts. :)

Now that I updated it seems that "Display future bills for" option is
broken. Everytime anything other than "None" or "1 month ahead" is
selected the option resets itself to "None" and obviously doesn't
display any future bills. Only "1 month ahaed" works as expected. :(

Oh, and you splash screen still claims copyright up to 2003 only. :)

Where a report has been saved as a 'Favorite', I would like to see the
name given to the favorite be used as the report title instead
of "Reports - Acemoney" or "Reports - <filename> - Acemoney".  As it
is, it is necessary to go into 'File, Print Preview, Page Setup' every
time a report is to be printed to change the title to something
meaningful.  When you have a lot of reports, as I do, this would be
very helpful (it could even be made an option if you wish!).  Many

price functionality in 3.9.4 - Portfolio.

Msg displayed during price download : "Internet connection error or
invalid stock symbol".

There isn't any issue with the internet connection nor there is any
issue with the stock symbol either since i was using the same symbol
with 3.9.3 , yahoo finance being data source.

We changed networking module in 3.9.4, but the only thing that really
changed is support of connections via proxy servers: we don't do that
anymore for compatibility reasons.

Is there a chance that you are accessing Internet through proxy server?

I believe you don't really want to see filename in the name of the
report, what you really would like to see is filename somewhere in the
report header. What if AceMoney printed the filename somewhere on
every report?

We will add explicit support of proxy servers in the next release,
but for now I'd recommend you to stay with 3.9.3. You will be able to
configure address of proxy server in AceMoney, not in Internet
Explorer. We had to decouple AceMoney from Internet Explorer, this is
why this feature became not available. Sorry for inconvenience!

Yes, the version on the web site is correct. Try to clear cache of
your browser and download again.
