Earl,

I find it very strange that bank representative cannot tell you, the customer,
an address of their OFX server. Perhaps tomorrow they will hide their web site
from the public and will tell you that Internet Explorer/Firefox/Safari
developers should call them to obtain it before the customer can access it :-)

Nevertheless we did some research and it turns out that Bank of America,
California is already supported. In the Online Setup dialog try to select
"Credit card" as the online service type and "Bank of America, CA" as online
service provider.

Note that to make it work you need to call 1-800-792-0808 and ask the CSR to
"enable transaction downloading in Quicken". There may be a $9.95 monthly charge
for this convenience for customers. Once enabled, you can download transactions
for all the accounts that are linked in your online banking.

If you have any further problems with it, please contact our tech support
service directly at http://support.mechcad.net.

Is it always this way to add a new bank? I need this function to work or I have
to use a different program.

When I change a favorite report (created from a standard report) the display
title of the favorite report is lost.

Example, I open a favorite report with the title "my title". It displays the
title correctly at the top of the screen as "my title". I make a change by
selecting another category in the filter. The displayed title changes from "my
title" to "Monthly spendings by subcategories".

This is not harmful. But it is confusing. The title field for display loses
the value of the favorite report.

I don't think this has an answer, but I'll ask anyway. When I add a new
category or subcategory, I would like to add it quickly to all my many reports.
I would like with "one click" to add it to all reports instead of having to
select, update, find the report in my favorites list, and re-save each report.
When there are several new subcategories added, it gets pretty tedious.

Just asking.

Another way of looking at the cat/subcat filter, can reports be defined to only
display cats/subcats if there is an actual or budget value by default?

If this is possible - then have a filter to exclude a cat or subcat.

(I now have to select manually all cat/sub cats that I know have a value and
save that as the "all" report. Then, I refine that by unselecting the big
one-time transactions for a report of regular budgeted transactions.)

Hello,

My main bank (Citi UK) puts the name of the company from which direct debits are
initiated in the comments field when I directly import from their web site via
qif files into acemoney.

The comment field is text such as direct debit, direct credit etc describing the
nature of the transaction.

Is there any way that I can get import rules to work on Comments field rather
than the payee field?

Ideally would want to flip the order.

I suspect I could always download to file and do some manipulation on the qif
file and then import it - but changing the above seems an easier way and
possibly if others have same issue - something to add?

thanks

Alex,
If you refer to the screen shots in the page of 'Acemoney for pocket PC'
- the word 'Period' is misspelled.

I am planning to buy Acemoney for Pocket PC' , so also would like to
know, will the features/bug fixes recently made available in 4.1.1 be
available in the recent 'Acemoney for Pocket PC'?

I know you told me last time - you may not have plans to support Windows
7 Phone Series/Android/Symbian? Do you have any plans changed in this!
World is changing to any one of the above OS versions.

Thanks

Hello everyone in the UK,

I have a spread of fund investments - some in a pension (L&G), others
self-invested via Hargreaves lansdowne SIPP...

I have struggled to get fund quotes downloaded automatically other than updating
prices periodically from the provider sites.

Yahoo Finance UK after tons of searches gives quotes but very different from the
provider pages. Google finance - no hope. Bloomberg - i struggled. MSN UK -
shows HL funds but cannot search for price...

Anyone having better luck than me?

I like the feature that MS Excel has that shows me the Sum (or Count or Average,
etc) of selected cells in the lower right of the bottom status bar.

I'd like to see this in AceMoney. The sum of the transactions I have selected
(contiguous with shift or randomly with Ctrl-click) in the lower right corner of
a report as well as the transaction register. I'd rather it not be in the
tooltip over "Total:" in a register because reports don't have this and that
would require moving the mouse and a delay to see it. I often want to see the
total of specific transactions I am viewing in a report or even the register
view and this would help out a lot.

Thanks!

Yes, we are planning to release an update very soon and the new version will
handle the new features of the desktop version.

Yes :-) Still no plans for Symbian, and definitely no plans for Windows 7 Phone
Series. Android is gaining a significant market share and we have to consider
it, the only issue is that it is Java based and AceMoney is written in C++, so
it will not be very easy to port it.

Import rules already support this mode. We get all the fields reported by the
bank (payee, category, comment, etc) and try to find a matching rule.

If you believe that the import rule should be applied and AceMoney does not
apply it, please post .qif file along with a sample data file containing import
rule to our tech support service and we will look into this problem.

Hi,

Actually this is as designed. As soon as you modify the original, previously
saved favorite report, it essentially becomes a new report. The original title
only describes the saved report. As soon as you save the new report, the title
will be back because now you will be looking at the genuine unmodified favorite
report.

Alex.

I have checked the archives for those who are interested in/undertake
comprehensive analysis of their AM data.

What do people use if they want more flexibility in their analysis? What about
trying to observe any degree of interaction between any chosen 2, 3, 4 or more
AM variables or factors? Will a spreadsheet be sufficient for this? Or is there
a need to utilise another form of software for such analysis? Does anyone here
do this?

The best one presently seems to be able to get is via reports which can provide
a month x subcategory analysis. This and others seem to provide analysis on what
I term `line' items or analysis.

Thanks.

I have seen a couple of posts discussing the need to budget with different

Is this feature already implemented, or is it something we will see in the near

For example my electricity bill differs enormously depending if it is December

spend anything in this category the other months.

I have just downloaded AceMoney. I have been using Microsoft Money for 5 years,
and the conversion seems to have done only the 2010 calendar year. Did I miss
something? I'd like my history to be included.

Also, MMoney provided a 30-day future for planned bills and deposits. I really
liked that feature. Is it available with AceMoney?

Is there a chance that the exported report had only 2010 transactions? Please do
import/export again, closely follow the instructions published here:
http://www.mechcad.net/products/acemoney/import-from-microsoft-money.shtml

Pay special attention to the step #8.

Yes, but a bit differently. The schedule page of AceMoney displays all recurring
bills and deposits along with their due dates, but only one instance of each.
The account page may display the future instances of your bills/deposits for the
period of time selected in Tools->Options (one month by default).

Thanks. I'm still working on the export issue. I re-exported the MMoney data.
The process created 3 icons on my desktop, but when I went into AceMoney,

We still are planning an iPhone version and will publish an announcement in this
group as soon as it is available. The good news is that the core of AceMoney
already builds on all major OSes supporting C++ development (this excludes
Android and Blackberry), so user interface is the only missing component.

It is slow going, I do not have a lot of free time to work on it.  With that
said, I did just the other night get a bare-bones Blackberry app to successfully
load an AceMoney .mmw file.  So now I am nearly ready to start working on a UI
to display that data.

That's Great.

As a request, please make point of sale entry as quick as possible.
For common purchases I think 3 key touches and then the price is ideal.

Not sure how you'll do that though :)

Perhaps a short cut code for the payee and auto complete for category / sub
category.

AceMoney already builds on all major OSes supporting C++ development (this
excludes Android and Blackberry), so user interface is the only missing
component.
