My response to Deo would have been, and still would be, to read
the help manual, "InDesign CS4 Help.pdf" for the last version,
that comes with the program. I was just looking at this myself
and found something I hadn't before even suspected existed,
which is the ability to rotate selected spreads only. For many
years I've been doing rotated tables in separate files and later
bringing them into the main PageMaker or InDesign files, but no
