Firstly, I know this is a month later but there don't appear
to have been any posts in between so I feel justified.
Firstly part b, I know I'm top posting but that's because
the whole world does so these days and I'm a sheep.
Secondly, I should make it clear that my curiosity is
fleeting and does not merit a comprehensive response.
Thirdly, bearing in mind the potential consequences of point
2, I promise that my question is genuine and not intended to
be sarcastic.
So. My question:
OS4.1? Eh?!
I remember OS3.1 being released "a few" years ago but it
never made it on to my A1200 because it was just too late.
Because, basically, the
Amiga was (and still is) dead. I know this will probably
enrage the two or three list members who still can't let go,
but it's basically fact and I won't be drawn into an
argument. From what I can tell, the dedicated hardcore
invested in 3.1 and watched the hardware and software market
falter horribly until only afb remained as a desperate
attempt to keep the dream alive.
So who on earth has developed 4.1 and, more importanly, who
the hell do they think is going to use it? Is this supposed
to be a serious commercial proposition?
There's no way I'm travelling north of Watford to find out
the answer I'm afraid, although it does bring back vivid
memories of an Amiga show I once attended. I spent a vast
sum of money on an 030 accelerator running at something
astonishing like 28MHz, with a whole 4MB of Fast RAM to
boot. Heady days...! ;-)
Paul C, baaaaaa!
