I remember when I was in college, back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth,
a friend of mine built a capacitor cannon. He had a copper pipe he
dropped them into, with an electrode at the end of the pipe, and the
pipe forming the other pole, and he connected the two electrodes to an
old telecom power supply (48 Volts, lots of Amperage), but backwards.
After a few seconds, the capacitor would explode out, with a trail of
foil and paper uncoiling from the cap.
