Re: A setback for this project

Dear Ras Feqade,

While I share your sentiments and disappointment, I'd recommend, rather than
complaining on the relevant pages, simply to find some proof of notability (as
Uncle G in the discussion about the Lingala deletion said: Sources! Sources!
Sources!). See my contributions at:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Lingala_Wikipedia
and

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Amharic_Wikipedia_(\
2nd_nomination)

Hope this is helpful and prevents the articles from being deleted.

Peace!
Oliver (aka Baba Tabita)

convinced in their own correctness and wisdom, that these wikipedias are not
"notable" enough to any English speakers, and hence do not deserve the
opportunity to be noted as individual articles. They have tried repeatedly
(almost every month) to have the articles DELETED and REDIRECTED to a generic
list of "non-notable projects".

account B'er Rabbit, at the newly opened deletion discussions for these two
articles. Looking over the goals of this project published at
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/afrophonewikis/ suggests to me that this
repeated attempt flies directly in the face of all of them. There is one
persistent admin account in particular who seems to feel that African languages
are not notable to *HIM*, therefore they should not be notable for anyone else
either, and so their wikimedia projects do not deserve any undue publicity,
since he personally fails to see their notability.

English, to try to open his eyes a little at the ongoing deletion discussion.
(Of course he will not likely consider any supporting sources or references
"notable" either, if they aren't written in English!)
