Actually, it got me thinking: what if there were links on the front
page of am.wikipedia.org to this article, and potentially to similar
articles in other languages as well? There are big populations of
Amharic speakers in many other countries: Israel, Germany, and Egypt
come to mind. I can imagine a small box entitled "About this
Wikipedia" with links to such articles in various languages.
It seems to me to be a very good idea to help the various Wikipedias
learn a bit about each other. For instance, the transliteration tool
used on am.wikipedia.org might be of use to other projects, as it was
in Newari.
