Primary Job Responsibilities:
The GreatSchools.net Java EE Software Engineer will work closely with engineering management, QA, systems administration, and product management. This individual will participate in the continued development of the GreatSchools.net website and migration from Perl to Java.
Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a BS in Computer Science. Experience (whether through work, school, or hobby projects) should include:
• An avid passion for web development using open-source software, related technologies, and methodologies including agile methods, test driven development, and continuous integration
• Experience with ORM tools like Hibernate or iBatis
• Experience with a Java web application framework like Spring MVC or Struts
• Experience with a mock objects library like easyMock or jMock
• Experience with continuous integration tools like Maven or Cruisecontrol
• Solid understanding of object-oriented development using Java, Perl, and JavaScript
• Must possess high level of enthusiasm and be a strong team player
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
