Small but mighty group of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) practitioners in Ottawa
seeks similarly-inclined individuals to join our expedition.

Do you:
- Abhor technical debt?
- Reject BIG up-front design?
- Get TDD?
- Consider end-users to be among your greatest allies in crafting software?

Can you:
- Deal with complexity?
- Be Agile++?
- Deal with the possibility that all of your assumptions are completely
incorrect?
- Reach down into the abyss and pull out your sense of humour in the direst of
moments?

Are you:
- Humble?
- Often wrong?
- Stoked by the desire to be less wrong?

Will you:
- Vow to give equal weight to design and process, with an emphasis on the
former?
- Dazzle us with your OO mastery?
- Work for industry average pay?

If so, then fortune has smiled upon you. Join our group as we make our way
through the rich and rewarding landscape of DDD under the indispensable
mentorship of Domain Language, the consultancy founded by Eric Evans, the author
of Domain-Driven Design.

Code drones and ivory tower dwellers need not apply.

Sick of working on boring projects with lousy architectures you have no control
over? Wish you had more say in what you work on and how? We are hiring a QA
Engineer to work on our next generation of software development tools.

Rally is seeking a motivated QA Engineer with an innate curiosity about how
things work and the drive to improve them. This is a key role on the engineering
team helping to guide development and define acceptance tests.

The QA Engineer is responsible for creating and implementing test acceptance
criteria, manual testing, recording defects, evaluating test data, problem
discovery and managing defects.

Here are the top 10 reasons QA Engineers choose to work at Rally:

Hackathon - Every 8 weeks, Rally developers get a free week to work on whatever
they want to help the business. This means that 12.5% of your time is free for
exploring new technologies and architectures. Several Hackathon projects have
been integrated into the product and released, so you have a real opportunity to
influence product direction.

Influence - You are encouraged and empowered to make things better. The team
owns all architectural and framework choices, so if something's not working, you
really can change! Don't just put up with it, fix it, and you will have the
support from your team and management to do so.

No ruts - You'll have the opportunity to work across the stack (JavaScript,
Java, REST, database, etc.) as well as provide input to which features should be
developed.

Collaboration - Our teams work closely together in a Scrum style, enabling us to
learn from everyone's experience rather than getting trapped in silos.

Pace - Sustainable. No weekends.

No dress code - Please wear something.

Career - Support for attending conferences, writing books, blogging and
speaking.

Beer - We have a kegerator.

Boulder, Colorado - There are worse places to live. 300+ days of sun, mountains,
skiing, biking...we're on the bike path.

Awards - Winner of 4 Consecutive Jolt Awards. Finalist for "Best Companies to
Work for" 2007 & 2008. Winner of "Best Companies to Work for" 2009

Qualifications
Minimum of 3-5 years of QA experience is preferred.

Experience testing rich, browser based user interfaces.
Excellent problem solving, analytical, and technical troubleshooting skills.
Working knowledge of software testing methodology.
Strong team-orientated, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Desire to work in an Agile/Scrum development environment with high degree of
adaptability.
Must be highly motivated, self-driven, and have the ability to work efficiently
with minimal supervision.
Experience with Agile Software Development Methods desired.
Experience with automated testing a plus.

We are looking for people who are passionate about the software industry and
want to work with the best and brightest. We value teamwork and the ability to
make and meet commitments as well as skill and a successful track record. We
strive for a healthy, productive work/life balance, while enjoying the
opportunity to substantially contribute to the direction and success of a
vibrant software business. Rally offers excellent compensation, benefits, and
stock options with an exceptional opportunity to grow.

If it sounds like you might thrive in an environment like this, we'd like to
hear from you.

extends from increasing the profitability of existing products to developing new
products for the company. You will build products from existing ideas, and help

A reminder of the agile-jobs list disclaimer:

Postings are accepted as long as the employer or recruiter claims the position
is within an agile software development shop. We cannot and will not arbitrate
how "agile" a company is. There is no guarantee that a job posting is at a
company that in fact adheres to truly agile values and principles.

(see also http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/agile-jobs)

Alan, a subscriber to this list, provides a link to a blog post that
demonstrates the unfortunate need for this disclaimer.
