A not so silent revolution is taking place in the world of work. The tectonic plate of values and world-view is sifting.
Some interesting words have entered the vocabulary of IT professionals worldwide "Self Organizing, Collective Reflection, Community, Collaboration, Distributed, Volunteer, Open source, Freeware" Within organization the most rapidly growing group is of those born post 1982. The group is also known as Generation Y.
Gen Y people are ambitious, hopeful - and in a hurry. "Generation Y is much less likely to respond to the traditional command-and-control type of management still popular in much of today's workforce," says Jordan Kaplan, an associate managerial science professor at Long Island University-Brooklyn in New York.
