I had invited Darin Hayton of Haverford College to participate last
year since he has written on alchemy from an intersting political
perspective.

I also sent feelers out into the Islamic scholars community through
my former professor Dr. Carl Ernst. He had mentioned that getting
buy-in from academic department for conferences in Vegas raises
eyebrows. Hopefully with the venue change we'll get a warmer
reception in academic circles.
