The Alchemy Museum is located on the Main Square of Kutna Hora, a beautiful, historic, former silver mining and minting town in the Czech Republic, 65 kms east of Prague. We describe the Museum as the 'World's First Museum dedicated to Alchemy in all its Aspects'.
The Museum was created by a group of local alchemy enthusiasts with help from many others from all over the world.
We focus on the rich alchemical history and traditions of the Czech lands, with special reference to Kutna Hora's alchemical history and to wider and deeper aspects of alchemy.
In association with an historic Kutna Hora hostelry, we can even offer the opportunity to partake of an Alchemical Menu, including a dessert made with real gold..
Our official opening took place on 16th May 2002 and on 15th February 2005 we welcomed our 20,000th visitor.
In association with the museum a number of other activities take place, including the irregular 'Hermetic College', practical alchemy workshops and Magical Journeys in Bohemia.
This list is a place to learn about these activities and about other aspects of the rich history of Alchemy in the Czech Lands.
We encourage your participation in our projects and seek support of all kinds to help the Museum to grow into a world centre of hermetic study and inspiration.
