My name is Kathleen Chance.   My sister, Kimberly and I were born on
June 28, 1961 in San Jose, California.   (Kimberly and Kathleen
Montgomery).  Kimberly is 6 minutes older than I am.   We're 38 years
old now and we both live in the same town in Northern California.   We
can't imagine living in separate towns.  We did that for about 10 years
and we hated it...   Our phone bills were HUGE!    We are very close and
can't imagine going a day without at least talking to eachother.   She
is my BEST friend!!    We have a sister who is about 1 1/2 yrs older.
She now lives in the same town too.  She travels alot with her job so we
don't see her as much as we'd like.   My Dad is on his own since the
death of my mother 3 years ago.  She died at age 57 of Pancreatic
Cancer.   She was the heart and soul of our family and we really miss
her.

Story about our birth - We were born 2 months pre-mature  (no big
surprise right?)    My dad wasn't expecting two girls, he was hoping for
1 boy.   My mom KNEW she was having twins but her doctor didn't believe
her.  She told him that she was having twins or an octupus.  ha ha
ha.    He actually left the room after Kimberly was born and she was
rushed to ICU.   The nurse had to call him back and tell him there was
another baby coming... that was me!    When we left the hospital (me
after 1 month and Kimberly after 2 months) the hospital wanted my Mom
and Dad to pay the bill in full.   Being married only a few years they
didn't have the money so my Dad told them that he'd be happy to set up a
payment plan and they could keep us until the bill was paid in full...
ha ha ha.    They agreed to let our parents make payments.

I'm married to my high school sweetheart (we remet at our 10 year
reunion and were engaged 5 months later).  We've been married for almost
9 years.   We have a dog (maltese) who is our baby.   We have no
children.   We own our own business.   My husband, Roger handles the day
to day operations and I do the office management / bookkeeping stuff
after my day ends with the company I work for full time.  I'm an
Executive Assistant in the Legal Department of a network management
software company.

Kimberly (I call her Kimmy, but I'm the only one she allows to call her
that ...) is a teacher.   She teaches 7th and 8th grade English, Drama
and Life Skills.  She's got a son who just turned 16.  He's great.   I
don't have kids and he's been like my own since his birth.   Kim teases
me and says he reminds her so much of me that she thinks he is my child
and she just carried him for me...  ha ha ha.

A few days ago someone ran a message about not being able to walk through town
without being
recognized as a twin. Well I just thought I would mention I have the same happen
to me. I live in
a small town in Minnesota. I recently started work at Resort here in town and I
work with a guy I
went to high school with. Well yesterday at work this guy said...hey Alicia...my
TWINS name. He
had not even seen her in atleast 4 years and had seen me for the last two weeks
but I guess that
is twinhood for you!
Also I just moved from South Dakota where I was 700 miles from my sister. I
found that anytine I
heard someone say Alicia, my sisters name, I would turn around!
Well I jsut thought I would drop that tidbit to you all. Hope to be hearing more
out there soon.
Any other twins from Minnesota on this group? In Middle school my sister and I
were friends with
two other sets of twins, and we were thr "triple troube trio!" we alwayse tried
to fool the
teachers, and did a fairly good job!

Hello all.  My name is Lorraine and I am the proud mother of twin girls who
will be three in August. They are the highlights of our lives and my husband
Kevin and I consider ourselves to be doubly blessed.  The girls were born at
26 weeks (therefore starting life a little early) but are doing wonderfully.
I  have always enjoyed the comments that people make about twins and most
people find them to be such an oddity (I am not sure why because twins are
becoming much more common). I like communicating with other twin parents
because the unique situations that raising twins in can something never be
compared to that of raising a singleton.  I look forward to becoming an
active member of your group.

My names charlotte and i'm from Yorkshire, england, i'm 14 and have an
identical twin sister 5 minutes older than me called Louise. The reason why i
joined this list was to see if anyone else has the same problems as we do, i
cant walk around in town with my sister without people stopping and pointing
and coming up to me asking if i'm a twin-which can be really annoying at

I joined this list a while ago and forgot I was even on it.  I am also on the
adulttwins list.  My name is Di.  My sister Deb and I are identical twins.
We are 38 years old, although I don't feel that old.  We both live in GA, but
  grew up in WI.  We are both married and have 2 children.  Both a boy and a
girl.  My children are teenagers(16,14)and hers are a couple years
younger(13,11).  We spend alot of time talking about them.  We just spend
alot of time talking!  I love being a twin and like to spend as much time
with her as possible.  We live about an hour away.  This isn't really that
far when you live in Atlanta.  We e-mail each other and spend time on the
phone too.  I don't think we really learned to appreciate each other until we
graduated from High School.  We then moved to Atlanta and have been best
friends since.  I couldn't remember if this was a list for adult twins or for
parents with twins.  Looking forward to hearing more about others.

I have twins, boy/girl who just turned six !!!  and your advise on taking a
friend shopping was GREAT..... God I can remember those days when they were
small and I have another child 22 months older than the twins so it was like
triplets going out...... But I must admit after pushing around that DOUBLE
stroller I was in great shape <G>.

I was actually surprised to get a response.  Thank you.  My boys are
quite hyper at only 10 months old.  And to top things off, they were
just diagnosed with asthma and the medicine's side effects are making
them mean and even more hyper.  So you're right when you say to take a
friend along!

I have two older children who are wonderful helpers.  People synge when
they hear I have four children, but they don't realize that I would have
been miserable without their help!

this is the first post i've received since i joined this list weeks ago. i'm
a 34 year old twin boy & i don't even know if i count yet.being a twin, my
best advice for you is to take along a friend to help with  the twins when
you shop. my mother still tells stories about us taking off in different
